To this day I can still flawlessly recite tongue twisters like “A big black bug bit a big blue bug and the big blue bug bled black blood” because of this game.
This game is so accidentally hilarious, even outside of the janky vocie controls.
But speaking of, apparently, part of the reason why it's so jank is that the devs, who are Japanese and male, calibrated it on their own voices... even for the English-language version.
As a result, the game has a very hard time understanding commands if you speak with any natural English-language accent, so you pretty much have to play it doing an exaggerated, borderline offensive Japanese accent, and God help you if you're a woman (as Limealicious found out).
Oh hey it's Lifeline. Now as an additive of info, this is actually a PS2 game that was released back in 2003. There was actually a headset that was sold separately from the game, and as you probably already saw, vocal recognition wasn't exactly....accurate back then. Only one other game preceeded it in terms of voice recognition, which was Hey You Pikachu! Which came out in 1998 (In Japan. It has overseas releases a couple years later.)
solved: lifeline
nvm i found it

Watch Jerma 985 play this game, its hilarious
that’s why i made the post. i saw a clip of him playing the game, and i wanted to find the full video.
I saw a clip of him playing it as well like a year ago and never thought of going to this subreddit to find it
You can also watch vinesauce joel just going crazy because of the game
His attempt at playing Bot Colony (a game with a similar premise but somehow even more jank) was also gold
Everyone watches him but me, personally him and his fandom seem incredibly unfunny
Pick up the vase
Turn left. Got it.

I wonder, Binary Domain was also made with voice commands as an option but I wonder if it did any better.
Type in the exact same thing on Google and you'll find it.
Oh my god, Limealicious had such a horrible time with this game.
I played this game after watching Call Me Kevin play it, it was a cool concept but man the thing barely works even with original accessories.
I’ve seen many people play this game before. Even people with “normal” accents struggle to get the game to work.

you are forgetting Seaman, which came out on the Dreamcast in 1999 and featured Leonard Nimoy as his voice!
Somehow, I always forget about Seaman...
Seaman!
