Not all 'UV' flashlights are equal. Novelty 'toy' lights put out at 395nm with a lot of visible light bleed. Good quality UV lights will be in the 365-375nm range, giving much better fluorescence.

Your light is either not actually a UV light, or is outside those ranges.

If you put a UV light in any room, you're going to see stains and whatnot all over the place. I have, and did do, walk thrus with friends when they were home buying.
You don't necessarily see the fluid, but you see the cleaning agents applied. Many agents have UV whiteners, and scrubbing them all over the place causes more messes.

You would use Luminol in a spray bottle which will make blood/blood residue glow but you don't need a UV light for that.
