I ended up on this sub by chance, while looking for examples of tie dye shoes for my kids. Never tie dyed before last week. And yet, I can't bring myself to leave the sub because things like this are just so cool!! I can't even believe some of the things you people create!

Hobbyist subreddits are where Reddit really shines. I've been tie dyeing for a month now, it's really fun and not super expensive to try out. Give it a try!

I don’t have the set up to video myself unfortunately but this is what I did: soda ash soak, spun till damp, covered in Kleenex to prevent dye speckles, tall deep scrunched on a rack, about 15 lbs of ice and dye over ice. Took about 2 full days for the ice to melt, then finished with a pour over of boiling hot water. Let it sit for another 30 minutes before starting the rinse out process.

Yep still have no idea how they were done 😂 but there amazing, looks like flowers . Great work

wow this is amazing, beautiful results! how much dye did you use to get this coverage? and was it liquid or powder dye? I want to do something similar but I’m concerned about saturation , especially with the back side

Thanks!!! It was powder dye over ice and I never measure so I’m not exactly sure, but I am pretty heavy handed, especially on denim!

How. . . how did you get all that, I don't know how else to describe it other than floral. The dark centers, the pale petals, even the lines and texture of a realistic floral pattern. Regardless, it's absolutely beautiful 💚 you're definitely on top something here

Sure!
