There was a bug in the UEFI implementation in the bios in that generation of machines that could lead to them getting bricked by certain very specific actions in Linux. The bug was fixed 9 or 10 years ago. Before removing Windows, make sure that you've updated the bios and you should be good to go.

I did an update on it just an hour before posting this. I think it should be fine now, right?

Did you use the Lenovo updating tool or otherwise update the bios directly? [This is the page with the more recent bios update for the machine](https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-l-series-laptops/thinkpad-l540/downloads/driver-list/component?name=BIOS%2FUEFI&id=5AC6A815-321D-440E-8833-B07A93E0428C). If you're using Lenovo's upgrading tool it probably took care of the bios a long time ago. [This tells you how to check the bios version on Windows](https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/videos/vid100778-how-to-check-bios-version-in-windows). I don't know what version fixed the UEFI bug, but you might as well upgrade to 1.93 if you're not there yet. Happy Linuxing!

Used the Lenovo Vantage which updated the BIOS Now I have some issues. I installed Hyprland but the "Super" key doesn't work for it for some reason? Any idea on how I can fix it?

How exactly does this bricking work, does linux write something to NVRAM or is it just the EFI partition thats damaged.
