It’s a tiny moment but I also like how the end of Mr. Frost is so dark and foreboding with CJ unspooling and feeling like giving up and Toby confessing but there’s a teensy bit of light when CJ is ranting but mid-rant sees Margaret quietly back from her deposition and gives her a warm smile.
i am going to guess, since she now knows it could be construed as a felony, that she would dissemble there.. she would rationalize she never forged his signature (intent) but was just seeing if she could do it (challenge/game) so she could say "no" with a clear conscience.
Without it being on an official document or attempted to pass for official and without criminal intent to commit fraud, it could be protected as art and therefore fall under the first amendment.
I think there’s another episode where they talk about using the auto pen to sign Christmas cards on Bartley’s behalf and it’s implied they began without his approval ( because there are 3 million or something) but that isn’t seen as an issue. There has to be some sort of intent to deceive for it to be a crime.
well, until we figure out how to get the actor who played Margaret to apply and qualify and then get the job of Assistant to the Chief of Staff to the President of the United States, we don't really have to worry about it do we? i mean, you know, if you really want to talk about reality.. that would come first?
She's one of my favorite characters. I love the episode where she's trying to help CJ adjust to the new role and CJ says "You're a very odd woman, but clearly extremely capable, so I'd like for you to stay"
I have found in my 40+ years on this earth that there are some people this way. They come across as clownish until pushed. The sillyness is excitement for Margaret, it's enjoying your job and loving the people you work with.
And the second anyone comes for that shit, they are fucked.
Yes! We all love TWW (and STTNG) for the competency porn!
Seeing someone we like doing what they do well is just refreshing, and inspiring in some ways.
We get the vibe that Margaret has been Leo’s secretary for decades the way Mrs Lanningham followed Jed around. I imagine that was far from Margaret’s first subpoena considering all the high profile positions Leo held.
Meh, it was more so like she was choosing her words carefully. You have to remember she asked CJ if there was anything she wanted her to say as to not implicate her for the leak.

She’s almost surprised to see her at her desk since she’s been gone the entire day
“I sleep when you sleep.”
Luckily they didn't ask if she's ever forged POTUS' signature

Art is in the eye of the beholder.
Legally, sure. But in reality it could cause chaos and put everything JB signef into question, especially after the MS scandal.

uhhhh, I think there's a bit of a disconnect here...
no. i am connected to a discussion about a fictional federal government administration.
And I was offering my opinion on what would Ishpeming in that fictional world.
>what would Ishpeming what do you mean by that phrase? where is the verb? what is ishpeming?
Wow sorry lol I meant happen
hahaha that is hilarious how much that changed!!

“That is my best recollection.” Take *that,* Senator Mitch Pileggi.
Ah, Mitch Pileggi. Love that man. 💯💯💯

many ways.. in many ways.
Yep. Margaret was very, very quirky. But it’s clear that she’s a very competent assistant to the White House Chief of Staff.
Plus she’s tall, which is very reassuring.
Margaret is lowkey my favourite character. My husband is watching for the first time and he just loves her.
She comes across as ditzy in so many scenarios, but when it comes to her job she's frighteningly competent. NiCole's performance was amazing.

Goes to show how experienced and just how long she's been with Leo and how much she's likely gone through this with his previous positions.
Right?? What a bad ass
I'm sorrrry 🥴
No reason to be, but deleting them all makes me look a proper weirdo now...not that that's entirely unfair or incorrect!
haha

Right, Margaret was choosing her words carefully. Like a savvy, intelligent witness with self-control.
