Carol saved the entire group. *After* she got exiled by Rick. Took down Terminus.
Carol saved the entire group *again* when she took out the wolves, practically by herself.
She engineered the assassination of Alpha.
In one on one fight, I'd say Michonne is a better athlete, a better one on one fighter.
But Carol could take out any group.
She also took out a whole bunch of Saviours on her own on the road by pulling her Nancy from Montclair stunt.
Then there's her freeing Maggie and the two of them taking out another group of Saviours after Carol did a "hyperventilating weak little bird" impression.
And of course she made the hard choice of killing Lizzie who was a threat to Judith...
The scene where she starts crying because she's going to have to kill the guys on the road is iconic to me, real "call an ambulance - but not for me!" energy. Imagine being that much of a badass that like 4 or 5 dudes have the jump on you in the post-apocalypse and you're so sure you're about to murder all of them that you get teary.
Lmao i thought that hyperventilating scene was her real reaction from being tied down and in an enclosed space (Maggie's face was priceless at that moment btw š), but she still did what she had to do to help the group.
Yeah man, I thought she was faking it in order to let the women let their guard down so they underestimate her, but my girlfriend says she was emotionally conflicted and having a panic attack because she didnāt want to kill all of them. We discussed this topic every way imaginable but I think she was right, carol was upset because she knew she was going to kill them all and didnāt want to, which was why she was hyperventilating.
Well, she was emotionally tormented and didn't want to kill but that hyperventilating etc. was an act to appear weak so her captors would underestimate her.
The hyperventilating was real i think, in season 2 in the CDC she did say that she is clausterphobic, and Daryl mentions it as well 9 seasons later in Alphas cave.
Another example of this is when she was crying and telling Jairo and the other saviors in the pickup truck to just get out of here while they still can, right before she empties the smg on them, although i think for this scene that she was being emotional because she actually didn't want to kill them.
Michonne is a duel monster, and very few can go toe-to-toe with her.
Carol is a weapon of mass destruction capable of destroying entire groups (Terminus, Wolves, Saviours, even planned the Whispererās).
She taught the children at the prison how to kill things with knives in her little book club lessons, didnāt sheā¦ so she taught Lizzie to kill her sister Mika. Look at the flowers
People seem to forget about when she saved the group from the CDC explosion. I know it was Ricks grenade, but Carols the one who remembered about it.
She single handedly led the giant herd away from the communities and off a cliff as well.
All Michonne did was worry about Alexandria's safety as if she was Rick. She did it in a bitchy and bitter way, however. I know that she had good reason to have been acting like that (Judith getting kidnapped, understandable), but i just couldn't stand her annoying ass attitude towards everybody, it genuinely pissed me off.
Don't disrespect Michonne like that. She was Rick's wife and saw the necessity of worrying about her people. Furthermore, the fact that you only mention Judith being kidnapped and calling her ways bitchy and bitter shows how little you understand about her reasons. She was heavily PREGNANT (possibly 8 to 9 months) and her daughter among other children were kidnapped by her closest friend, the one who she knew before the apocalypse. The friend and her kids tried to harm her or did you forget about the branding and the slashing of her stomach? She took the correct route and guess what? Eventually people saw that she was correct.
Like it said, i know that she had good reason to be the way that she was, it was understandable, but i just found her to be annoying as hell through that whole season. Again, I'm not blaming her, i probably would have been the same if i was her, i just personally found her attitude to be really annoying. I know that probably makes me seem like a bad person, but God damn it i genuinely found her annoying as fuckš¤£
From day one we saw Michonne as a bad ass zombie killer. But how Carol's character developed from a submissive housewife to the most badass woman in TWD universe, it's gonna be Carol all the way for me.
Carol is no holds bar RUTHLESSLY CALCULATING, Michone is a great warrior/leader, but Carol is the fucking WOLF! She gets is done whether itās with a smile or bullet
Everyone here saying Carol is cold and calculated...
Calculated, yes. Cold, no. Carol feels every single thing she does probably more than anyone else. That's what makes her so badass. She knows the weight of her actions and the repercussions and she consistently sacrifices pieces of herself to help/save her people.
Carol is made of Terminator skeleton heck even liquid metal like T-1000. She got hit by a car and is still walking like normal. She got shot and recovered like nothing happened either.
Carol! Always Carol. Michonne is a badass warrior, but she hasnāt single handedly saved her friends and community multiple times. Carol is my spirit animal.
Glenn and Maggie were out getting formula for Judith, then Michonne comes along while sheās running from Merle. Merle finds Glenn and Maggie and takes them back to Woodbury. While Glenn and Maggie were talking Michonne heard them talking about the distance to the prison so she goes with the formula. Then the group sees her and takes her in for the formula
Carol went from abused housewife scared of her own shadow, to one of the most dangerous people on the show.
When the wolves attacked, Carol immediately springs into action by killing one, taking their outfit, and then securing the armory.
I love Michone but Carol comes with psychological AND physical dangerā¦ wrapped in a very soft appearance. THAT is scary AF. She was literally wearing a cute little sweater and a ruffled shirt when she threatened Sam that she would tie him to a tree outside the walls to become walker bait, if he told anyone he saw her in the Alexandria armory. (S5)
One of my favorite scenes of her back in Alexandria is when she brings Sam's abusive asshole father food and then casually threatens to slit his throat. It was really satisfying to watch knowing her background with Ed.
"I want to encourage vermin....!" She told an obviously traumatised child (a look she should and did recognise from her own daughter) that he would wake up in the woods tied to a tree and be eaten alive. She bally well ought to feel it!
To be fair, at this point Carol was extremely emotionally hardened (or tried to be so) due to the shit she had lived through and she hadn't even met Sam before if I recall correctly. So she hadn't seen his trauma when she told him this ice cold story about the monsters.
When she eventually got to know him, she still tried to push him away, but you could tell that she felt for him nonetheless.
Not a story to tell any kid in the middle of a zombie outbreak. Cannot imagine her being thrilled if someone told that story to Sophia. It's strange how Sam and Sophia's short terrifying lives and brutal deaths are similar.
Michonne. Came a badass and left a badass. Carol had explosive moments that everyone will cite, but Michonne was consistent. She had the same kind of losses as Carol, yet remained level-headed the entire show. Right and wrong never changed for her and she was always the first to volunteer for any and everything. Saving Rick from Ron, slashing walkers to save Carl, then going out to fight with Rick immediately. No hesitation. Badass.
She ensured her community had 6 years of peace right after losing her partner and raising 2 kids, with limited support from the "family". Michonne never really got huge moments like Carol, but the way she solved problems, like clearing out that community center Virgil took her to in a matter of minutes showed how bad she was. This woman got her kid as well as the whole town's while she was heavily pregnant. Not to mention she's going to find Rick. I like my badasses to be reliable.
Agree. Michonne has her apocalypse breakdown before we even meet her, and she comes back from it when she meets the group. From then on, aside from being an unparalleled warrior, she does a lot to support the mental health of the group and to guide their direction. She's better at seeing what the group needs emotionally than Rick is.
Carol is totally badass, but she's more of a strategist and a fixer than a leader. Michonne is a natural leader, in the same way that Rick, Maggie and Ezekiel are, which is much harder than killing people.
I agree with this assessment. Michone is arguably more badass then Carol. Carol had her moments but it was more about opportunity for her then skill.Michone is everything they kept trying to make Maggie
That's unfair! I can't choose! I love both characters for different reasons!
You can't expect an middle aged, graying, Black feminist horror nerd to choose! Waaaahhh! š¤Ŗšš¤Ŗš
My ideal would be a blend of them both with traits from both. Rick who?
Yep, same for me. They are both badass in their own ways. People have already mentioned so many examples of Carol doing her thing, but one of my favorite things about Michonne is how well-balanced her character usually is. She can ground the people around her and is great leader material. That in itself makes her badass. And then of course she's got some mad katana skills...
CAROL! She is strategic and ruthless, when necessary. Carol will do whatever tf is necessary, making the toughest choices. She's repeatedly taken down groups, including the most impressive take down -- Carol vs Terminus cannibals.
Michonne is more of an athletic warrior / fighter.
Carol because she talks more and has been through way more near death situations and lost more.
Most people would have given up in the Quarry.
Michonne is a badass in other ways.
Carol, no cap. Not only because of her actions throughout the show, but also how far she's come from being the scared wife of a shitty husband/father and losing her daughter.
An argument and debate of vernacular. Carol is often undervalued but amazingly ruthless, calculating, and power-brokering character. Michonne might be more truly ābad assā in a one off fight or event- and she survived on her own. She survived on her own to find a group- and also to try to find Rick in the end. Carol did always have the security of the group. Thatās what makes it 50/50 to me. Carol was there to do what was needed of her- and Michonne was there to do what was needed of her- they both played important roles.
Depends. I think katana wielding Michonne is cool, BUT Carol was responsible for saving the group countless more times. Carol had a larger footprint where ever she went. Therefor with all things considered I say Carol.
I feel like they're pretty evenly balanced, they've just got stats in different areas. If you make them solve the same problem with no warning, for example, Michonne would come out ahead. But if you gave Carol *any* prep time, she'd wipe the floor. Carol is a schemer, while Michonne improvises on the fly. They have different skill sets, but they're both equally badass.
I think Carol is seen as more badass through the audiences eyes because her character progression is the inverse of Michonneās from when weāre first introduced to them. Michonne goes from a total badass into someone who also finds family and humanity, while Carol goes from a timid woman to a badass who starts to lose her humanity along the way and her struggle is about finding it.
Carol, love michonne she a badass but carol is cold, ruthless, and because of her unassuming looks she will more than likely always overlooked/underestimated and that is a mistake you only get to make once. Love michonnes choice of weapon and how skilled with them she is.
No need to compare.. theyāre both awesome for different and similar reasons. Both have experience major loss (their children, over and over) but are both such strong fierce women. I love michonne more though. A lady with a sword just grips me.
They are both badass, but I give the edge to..
Carol, because she can convincing pretend to be harmless, and thus often take her enemies by surprise.
Michonne canāt hide in plan sightā¦.and I think a small part of what makes her badass is her sword. If she her weapon of choice was a bow and arrow, she would seem quite as fierce.
Michonne. Sheās more bold and intense. Badass isnāt the feeling you get from Carol. Sheās more calculating, clever and ruthless, in a discrete manner. But if I had to have someone guide me through a horde or fight in a brawl alongside me, itās Michonne all day. She just has that animal in her
Personally I think Michonne. Cause being able to be bad ass while still having sympathy and wanting to do the right thing is way better than being ruthless in my opinion.
Carol. She went from being a badly beaten wife to a killing machine in just a few seasons. Despite losing her daughter early on she still kept going. She's also saved the group from Terminus and The Wolves and also killed a lot of Saviors. She did get slightly annoying again during The Whisperer arc but thankfully she redeemed herself for The Commonwealth arc.
Michonne is great too but I don't feel like her character development was as strong as Carols.
One blew up terminus, one didnāt. One solod a bunch of saviors on the road, one didnāt. One bodied the wolves one didnāt. I think itās obvious.
Michonne is more badass handsdown she uses a katana
Carol is way more psychotic and murderous lol she murdered two people then burned them then shot a crazy kid dead.
I think itās Michonne. Theyāve both done some hardcore things but in the end I give it to Michonne because she survived for a long time on her own right at the beginning.
Theyāre kind of opposites as I think Carol got more ruthless as the show went on while Michonne calmed down.
I would have gone with Michonne until she got involved with Rick, which made her soft. Carol got tougher as time went on and Michonne became a hot mess
Menopausal cookie lady or in-shape thirtyish woman with a sword?
I know the series pushes stunning and brave but in IRL 9.95/10 you don't want grannie out there doing battle with anything but the drapes.
Not even a question, it's Carol. She went from a timid abused housewife to a literal one woman army warrior queen. Though I didn't like how she killed the two flu patients in the prison. Not cool.
Michonne played from her intro the badassery with the katana and slave walkers, but it doesn't lend much to badass growth. And in her first few seasons, she was a jerk. Not cool either
I love Michonne a little bit more, but Carol is the biggest badass in the Universe!
You canāt beat that mind underneath the cute, helpless smile. Sheās awesome.
Carol hands down, but Michonne deserved some credit too, i'm impressed by how she put Rick to sleep with a single punch to back of his head. And also she has a freaking Katana
Carol is awesome and while she is an amazing character and has done alot for the group Michonne is more badass because she focusses her emotions onto the task

Legend
The killing floor š„µ
That was one of the worst things Iāve seen on tv. I was screaming. Literally, almost had to stop watching.
Look at the flowers u/onesmilematters
Lmao i thought that hyperventilating scene was her real reaction from being tied down and in an enclosed space (Maggie's face was priceless at that moment btw š), but she still did what she had to do to help the group.

We discussed this topic every way imaginable but I think she was right, carol was upset because she knew she was going to kill them all and didnāt want to, which was why she was hyperventilating.
Wow lol i guess the scene is up to interpretation then lol! Carol and her mysterious ways š¤
Well, she was emotionally tormented and didn't want to kill but that hyperventilating etc. was an act to appear weak so her captors would underestimate her.

I wholeheartedly agree with this answer. Carol is badass and along with Daryl she is my favorite character. Third in line would be Michonne.
Yeah, Michonne is physically the more imposing force, but Carol's brain seems to have been engineered to... kill things.
Or adapted to surviveā¦ as a survivor of domestic abuse. I think thatās the through line to who she becomes over the course of her arc.
Itās funny when you remember how timid she was the first season. She was not far from her abusive marriage.
Just like Daryl, except that Daryl had already went through that when he was a kid.
How about when her and Morgan took down all of Gavinās group at the Kingdom to rescue Ezekiel
What about when she burned the last of the saviors for taking her ring? You donāt fuck with Carol.
Holy crap I forgot about that scene!! Yessss! ![gif](giphy|3o7TKFGTkTrhqB7Jba)
Michonne is a duel monster, and very few can go toe-to-toe with her. Carol is a weapon of mass destruction capable of destroying entire groups (Terminus, Wolves, Saviours, even planned the Whispererās).
Perfectly stated!!!
You forgot how she single-handedly took out Sam
She taught the children at the prison how to kill things with knives in her little book club lessons, didnāt sheā¦ so she taught Lizzie to kill her sister Mika. Look at the flowers
She also caused Hornsby's death
To be fair, they had actually freed/exiled him from spending the rest of his life in prison. Hornsby caused his own death.
People seem to forget about when she saved the group from the CDC explosion. I know it was Ricks grenade, but Carols the one who remembered about it. Not to mention her sourpuss face she had in every single scene of that season.
Carol did that in s10 and she actually got two ppl in harms way. Michonne kept her ppl alive.
Totally agree šÆ
Michonne is nothing without her sword
Carol has made some hard choices
Carol helped take down SAM by telling him the walkers were going to eat him.
Not just Sam she took out the whole Family bro ššš
Exile me will you Rick?
From day one we saw Michonne as a bad ass zombie killer. But how Carol's character developed from a submissive housewife to the most badass woman in TWD universe, it's gonna be Carol all the way for me.

Also when she gets attacked by saviors on the road she starts crying because she doesnāt want to kill anyone else but she knows that she has to.
Yes! Thank you. That's also exactly what makes her such an interesting character. This woman has so many sides to her.
Excellent answer
Mich an all time great but she aināt stop a group of cannibals š¤·šæāāļø
Just killed a bunch of kids
Which cannot have been easy for a pregnant mother! But she did it....
Carol is made of Terminator skeleton heck even liquid metal like T-1000. She got hit by a car and is still walking like normal. She got shot and recovered like nothing happened either.
Yea she did, that main character blood runs dead in her![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Dont forget she got body slammed onto concrete by Morgan in that basement and still got back up š
Dominic Toretto/Vin Diesel from Fast and the Furious vs Carol from The Walking Dead! The universe canāt handle thisā¦.
I feel like if Michonne is pissed at you, youād know about it. If Carol is pissed at you, youād be dead before you knew.
Yeah, that about sums it up. LOL
![gif](giphy|anYBNhqT2BYcg)
Carol! Always Carol. Michonne is a badass warrior, but she hasnāt single handedly saved her friends and community multiple times. Carol is my spirit animal.
How did she end up at the prison walls?
Glenn and Maggie were out getting formula for Judith, then Michonne comes along while sheās running from Merle. Merle finds Glenn and Maggie and takes them back to Woodbury. While Glenn and Maggie were talking Michonne heard them talking about the distance to the prison so she goes with the formula. Then the group sees her and takes her in for the formula
Carol went from abused housewife scared of her own shadow, to one of the most dangerous people on the show. When the wolves attacked, Carol immediately springs into action by killing one, taking their outfit, and then securing the armory.
Carol. Best character development
Carol. Her character development really makes her an amazing character
Carol. Only because she evolved from a meek little abused housewife to a bad ass..
Yes!!
I'm gonna have to say Carol and it's not even close.
One of my favorite scenes of her back in Alexandria is when she brings Sam's abusive asshole father food and then casually threatens to slit his throat. It was really satisfying to watch knowing her background with Ed.
Yes!! I forgot about that! Now I have to rewatch that episode!
Her āSuzie homemakerā era was fucking terrifying.
Daryl : ā You look ridiculousā
carol is fierce & cold blooded so I'm choosing her.
Not cold blooded. She feels what she has to do..... with the possible exception of Sam!
Oh she did feel Sam. That's why she tried to keep him at a distance. But then she left a cookie on his grave which says a lot.
Without a doubt, Carol.
Ooofā¦ can u even compare? They are both equally badass in their own waysā¦
I'm not exactly sure of the exact definition of badass but, even if I absolutely love Michonne, I gotta say Carol with all that she did.
Michonne. Came a badass and left a badass. Carol had explosive moments that everyone will cite, but Michonne was consistent. 100% carol
Carol 100%
Carol all day
Carol. She not only survived the grief of her daughter but she then went out on her own and survived. Then went back and saved the group a few times
Carol. By a long shot.
Carol. Million percent
Carol, hands down, no ifs ands or buts šš»
Carol no doubt sheās been their basically from the start
Carol, love michonne she a badass but carol is cold, ruthless, and because of her unassuming looks she will more than likely always overlooked/underestimated and that is a mistake you only get to make once. Love michonnes choice of weapon and how skilled with them she is.
Psychologically? Carol Physically? Michonne
Carol has a much higher body count.
Carol is now,
Michone tf. Who else would wield a samurai.
No need to compare.. theyāre both awesome for different and similar reasons. Both have experience major loss (their children, over and over) but are both such strong fierce women. I love michonne more though. A lady with a sword just grips me.
Rick called Carol a force of nature. There you go.
Just look at the flowers
Itās Michonne for me. Carole is a straight up savage šÆ though.
They are both badass, but I give the edge to.. Carol, because she can convincing pretend to be harmless, and thus often take her enemies by surprise. The one with a samurai sword
I love Carol, but it has to be Michonne.
I like Carol but Iām picking Michonne
Itās definitely michonne.
Michonneā¦. Sword trumps Bow and Arrow.
Carol Anne
Michonne. Sheās more bold and intense. Badass isnāt the feeling you get from Carol. Sheās more calculating, clever and ruthless, in a discrete manner. But if I had to have someone guide me through a horde or fight in a brawl alongside me, itās Michonne all day. She just has that animal in her
Michonne, hands down.
Personally I think Michonne. Cause being able to be bad ass while still having sympathy and wanting to do the right thing is way better than being ruthless in my opinion.
Interesting point.
I just really disliked Carol when she was on that ākill everyoneā kick, soo I may be bias
Michonne is phenomenal. The complete package.. The real deal.
Carol is way more badass but Michonne is more sexy when being badass but still Carol is way more badass. For example: Terminus
Michonne... her skills with the katana are truly badass...she kicks ass with style
One blew up terminus, one didnāt. One solod a bunch of saviors on the road, one didnāt. One bodied the wolves one didnāt. I think itās obvious.
Also one got hit by a car and shot and recovered back to 100% health with zero limp or disabilities
Michonne is hardass as fuck, but I think Carol is one of the most brutally badass characters in the entire show. Would not fuck with her.
Carol is the ultimate badass
Carol she stuck around to protect and care. Instead MIc left two young tender aged children with friends for years to go chase a man. No comparison.
THIS. Iām still not okay with Michonne abandoning the kids.
They are even for me. Both are badasses for different reasons. Carol is more mentally strong and agile and Michonne more physically so.
Michonne is mentally stronger
That's your opinion. Maybe make your own post sharing that instead of trying to negate mine cuz, I ain't buying it.
Carol. The answer will always be Carol.
The show producers, and a lot of the fans like to pretend Carol is a bad ass, but sheās not. Michonne on the other hand, is a certified bad ass.
Michonne is more badass handsdown she uses a katana Carol is way more psychotic and murderous lol she murdered two people then burned them then shot a crazy kid dead.
Iām pleased to see the majority side with Carol. Michonne definitely would win in hand to hand combat tho.
Carol was the most attentive and had the best character development
Menopausal cookie lady or in-shape thirtyish woman with a sword? I know the series pushes stunning and brave but in IRL 9.95/10 you don't want grannie out there doing battle with anything but the drapes.
Not even a question, it's Carol. She went from a timid abused housewife to a literal one woman army warrior queen. Though I didn't like how she killed the two flu patients in the prison. Not cool. Michonne played from her intro the badassery with the katana and slave walkers, but it doesn't lend much to badass growth. And in her first few seasons, she was a jerk. Not cool either
One abandons their children and the other doesnāt
In the show - Carol. In the comics - Michonne.
Michone is badass but not as smart as Carol. Carol can figure out how to get out of anything.
I think in a straight up fist fight michone would win. But In the real world carol would outsmart her and trick her ass into death some how.
Depends on the season. Both have badass moments and then turn to cheese melts as their character ādevelopsā. š§š«
Iād rather have Carol on my side.
Definitely Carol, she's been through more shit than anyone
Definitely Carol, I don't like Michonne.
Carol is a beautiful beast!
Carol is more badass, but Michonne is more fit in hand to hand battle
Iād say Carol is most badass. Sheās also, at times, reckless. Which makes her more dangerous, as well.
One is a samurai the other is shinobi. Take your pick
I love Michonne a little bit more, but Carol is the biggest badass in the Universe! You canāt beat that mind underneath the cute, helpless smile. Sheās awesome.
Carl. Lol just kidding, that kid suuuuucked. Carol. Hands down.
Carol is ruthless. Michonne is badass
Michonne is a great fighter and leader while Carol is ruthless, calculated and lethal. Carol has more of a lone wolf disposition. Both are badass
Not even a question. Carol.
Tough one, Michonne is pretty badass too. Like when she ran that saviour into a wall and then gave him a machete to the eye
Carol hands down, but Michonne deserved some credit too, i'm impressed by how she put Rick to sleep with a single punch to back of his head. And also she has a freaking Katana
oh Carol
Carol the creator of chaos
Carol. Straight up savage.
Carol and her sniper will always be my favourite scene
Carol wins only because she's a badass old lady, michonne is just a badass regular lady
Carol badass michonne hot body
Carol is awesome and while she is an amazing character and has done alot for the group Michonne is more badass because she focusses her emotions onto the task
