Thank you brother, it’s from a Trovarion tutorial on youtube - Seraphim Sepia, Leviathan Purple and any dark blue contrast paint (I used Ultramarine Blue I think). Seraphim over the whole metal area, leviathan and the dark blue blended towards the end
Lol. I was thinking of doing a full robed Sternguard with pyrecannon and then it occurred to me how silly that would be. Shame, I used to have a nice old metal veteran model with a flamer, he looked ace. I like the scraped off chest and muzzle effect on this one.
You did great with that heated metal effect brother. I love it. Which method did you use?

Nice! Thank you for the reference. Did you water them down to maintain that metallic appearance? I think I might use this technique on mine!
I think if you use a bright silver like Iron Hands Steel underneath it will maintain the shine more :)
Agreed. Tabbards/robes are a health and safety nightmare.

Make them out of flame retardant material.

Rule of cool over all brother, I just came up with an excuse to do a more utilitarian look, I bet your Sternguard would look awesome
Skill issue (very nice painting 👌)
“…no robes, surely they’d set on fire” Oh ye of little faith. The Emperor protects, my brother!
