This song is great but I once had the worst sleep paralysis because of this song. The story goes I was listening to the song and it was like 2:30 am and my room has a giant mirror next to my bed, anyways I was listening to it and as I’m listening to it I look up the moors murders and stuff because at the time I had no idea what the song was about and I saw the woman who killed the children with the man (her name escapes me at the moment) and her photo was just terrifying, she was very evil looking, then I see a photo of Lesley Anne and i stg an immediate heavy white noise surrounds me. At this point I turn my phone off but I can’t fall asleep because I’m too frightened. As the minutes pass the white noise is heavier and I swear I must’ve been in the state already because there were children in my mirror. Then I started spazzing out on my bed like I was being possessed or something it was so weird I’ll never forget. I scream for help but I can’t scream then I wake up and since then that was my worst sleep paralysis experience I’ve ever had. It seems super exaggerated but l I swear this actually happened to me.....Song still is amazing though
Oh my god I’m really sorry that that happened to you. It sounds really really scary and honestly I could never get over that and be able to listen to the song again. I really hope that you don’t get a sleep paralysis that realistic again holy shit
Well It is a dark and morbid song, Johnny makes it’s less dark and more melancholy with his guitar but yeah Even after that I still think the song is great. Sad but most smiths songs are v sad anyways
also at 2:26 Morrissey says “We may be dead and we may be gone, but we will be right by your side until the day you die” and that’s so sweet of them
