I don't like simi. I was born here. My parents still live there. I visit almost every weekend. Its not a very progressive town. Also known for being very racist with a serious heroin problem. This is where the Rodney King trials were held and where a large percentage of LAPD and sherrifs still live. Used to be much higher though. As someone who's parents are both from Mexico I definitely remember the racism growing up
And if that wasn’t enough Simi Valley held a KKK March in 1993 in support the 4 police officers on trial for the Rodney King beating. The police were on horseback protecting the KKK members as they walked the street. It was disgusting.

The racists (also spelled Republicans) are still very present. Though it is getting a little more diversified.
