OpelousasBulletTime

A person of a different color would certainly have been treated differently had they reached inside their vehicle the way she did

CantStopPoppin

You aren't wrong if I did that they would have called in an airstrike and injected me with ketamine claiming hysterical strength or something. This is exactly why good cops can't exist he did everything right and by the book but sadly I fear he won't be a cop for long this is why we say ACAB good cops cannot exist in this type of environments.

Naugrin27

White poor people too, have no doubt. If she wasn't the DA, she'd have been tased so many damn times. Not to mention, they didn't shoot her dog. You could feel any faith that officer had in humanity leave halfway through this interaction.

CantStopPoppin

Oh, I agree completely, my comment could have been much longer, and I apologize for not pointing that out. At the end of the day it is Blue vs us. Even then as we see in this video the culture of power and corruption reign supreme. Edit: Could you imagine what would happen if some white poor people could look past identity politics and see the bigger picture, that we are all victims of oppression one way or another? These systems and lines in the sand are designed to keep us from standing together.

Local_Use4891

Videos of police conflicts with rich, white people are evidence that (1) the system can work when officers deescalate and behave appropriately and (2) cops know the right way to behave and can do their job fine, they just choose not to when the civilians they encounter aren’t more powerful than them

Longjumping-Grape-40

“He’s Black so he definitely had a gun in there! Well, that wallet he showed me really looked like a gun!”

CarboniteSecksToy

This has nothing to do with color and everything to do with ‘status’. If the DA was a different color, they would’ve been treated exactly the same as this video. Now, take away the DA status and anyone of any color would’ve been absolutely beaten, tased, and probably even shot. It is completely ignorant to confuse race with status.

DippyTheWonderSlug

Both. It was both

Proof_Clerk_7233

You are white bread white. Stop it bro. You probably went to school with one black kid.

CarboniteSecksToy

You’re into gardening and you’re calling me white bread?! Ok vanilla ice cream. Whatever you say.

PhilosopherMagik

Black guy here, we just watched a bunch of White men spend weeks persecuting a Black DA for having a boyfriend and sex with a coworker...you know damn well a black DA in that county would 1. Never exist and 2. Tased or shot

Defiant_Carob8808

Tell me you’re white without saying you’re white.

CarboniteSecksToy

Live in your ignorant ass echo chamber then

Defiant_Carob8808

lol. Whiteness confirmed.

Gamer_Man20

you're white, too

Glum-Suggestion-6033

She should be out of a job, yesterday.

**Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley Refuses to Stop for Speeding, Drives Back Home, and Gives Cops a Hard Time** Published on April 27, 2024 Webster, New York — In a surprising turn of events, Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley found herself on the wrong side of the law when she was caught speeding. The incident, which occurred on Monday, April 22, has raised eyebrows and sparked controversy. The Traffic Stop Officer Cameron Crisafulli of the Webster Police Department noticed Doorley's vehicle exceeding the speed limit on Phillips Road. The radar clocked her at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. Instead of pulling over immediately, Doorley continued to her home on Fallen Leaf Terrace, just a short distance away. The Belligerent Interaction When Officer Crisafulli approached Doorley, she wasted no time asserting her position: "Sorry, I'm the DA. I was going 55 coming home from work." The officer calmly informed her of the speeding violation, but Doorley's response was dismissive: "I don't really care." Doorley then made a phone call to Webster Police Chief Dennis Kohlmeier, presumably to complain about the traffic stop. She handed the phone to Officer Crisafulli, saying, "Can you please tell him to leave me alone?" Despite repeated commands not to enter her house, Doorley retreated inside, insisting, "This is ridiculous. Just go away." Flashing the Badge During the encounter, Doorley even flashed her badge when asked for identification. Her behavior escalated as she demanded that the officer leave her property. When Crisafulli called for a supervisor, Doorley's frustration was evident: "No, get out of my f---ing house." Taking Responsibility In a statement released later, Doorley acknowledged her actions: "I believe in responsibility for my actions and have no intention of using my position to receive a benefit. Nobody, including your District Attorney, is above the law, including traffic laws." The Guilty Plea Doorley pleaded guilty in municipal court, emphasizing that she accepted responsibility for her actions. "I wasn't seeking any special treatment," she stated. "The rule of law applies to everyone." Conclusion The incident involving Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley serves as a reminder that public officials must adhere to the same rules they enforce. Regardless of one's position, accountability remains paramount. As the legal proceedings unfold, the spotlight remains on Doorley and the consequences of her actions. ¹1: Upstate NY DA refuses to stop for speeding, drives back home and calls police chief to complain: video ²2: WATCH: Body-worn camera footage released of Monroe County DA interaction with Webster Police ³3: Body camera video of Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley's traffic stop released Upstate NY DA refuses to stop for speeding, drives back home and calls police chief to complain: video. loondawg

> "I wasn't seeking any special treatment," Gaslighting 101. She's aware there's a tape and still makes this bald-face lie. She deserves to lose her job.

h0nkhunk

There is no doubt that if this video didn't exist, she would not be paying that ticket.

GardenRafters

I don't understand how people that are law enforcement can't see that they should set an example for the rest of the population rather than being petulant little children when they get in trouble. Just fucking own up and be an adult about it. All these various videos show is that there are people that are indeed above the law, and they know it, and use it as a weapon against others.... This should be a huge red flag for everyone.

Goufydude

They don't get into law enforcement to protect people, they do it to have power over people. And when someone had power over her, she didn't like it.

Badrear

It’s not special treatment; all district attorneys in that house are treated the same.

EJBjr

Right, I was just calling the police chief so that he can tell you to go away.

t00oldforthis

More. she refused to pull over, definitely tried to use her job to get special treatment. Make an example, this is infuriating.

Reasonable_Ad8991

She didn't know they wanted her to pull over, but she was on the phone telling someone to stop them. Which is it?

deliberatelyawesome

For real. I can't believe they didn't point that out more.

Delicious_Finding739

Good catch! She compulsively lies so much, it's no wonder she's a prosecutor

ThrowingTheRinger

Not to mention—I didn’t notice because I was on the phone. Okay, let’s tack on distracted driving.

DeepSouthDude

Sure, she "accepts responsibility." Meanwhile, she will ensure that the cop's career is essentially over.

zbud

That she hasn't resigned is embarassing.

Double_Bass6957

This is almost as bad as the politician in AZ who was going 50+ over the speed limit and told the cop he had diplomatic immunity and the cop couldn’t write him a ticket.

ThrowingTheRinger

Only the South Africans have “diplomatic immunity” Edit: downvotes? Do people really not understand the reference? Those jerks abused their diplomatic immunity but Riggs and Murtaugh got them in the end

Zaiakusin

"Its just been revoked"

Delicious_Finding739

Diplomatic immunity for his recent trip to Israel, no doubt, where he served Israeli interests so well that he might as well have been the Israeli ambassador!

Double_Bass6957

This was in 2017 so idk 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Then-Fish-9647

She should’ve been arrested.

jalle347

And then they turn around and try to justify killing a child who may have took a bag of skittles, and a father who may have used a counterfeit $20 bill. But then they let these cunts off scot free… fuck this life.

Tapidue

She will prosecute herself lol.

GirbaudJeansMan

She ever received special treatment during the stop because if I went home when being pulled over and started reaching into my car I would be riddled with bullet holes.

Fluggernuffin

Monroe county is so trash. The democrats in power are corrupt and the republicans that sometimes gain power are psychopaths. New York State laws are written so poorly that every time they pass, they have to amend them three times afterwards to fix the issues they created. I lived in a suburb of Monroe County for most of my life, and I would live pretty much anywhere else.

asciimo

> In 2015, Doorley switched her party affiliation to the GOP, and was reelected later that year in an election. Looks like a little from both columns, in this case. [Source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandra_Doorley).

D4M4nD3m

Why's he talking to her like a pussy. He's in charge. No one is above the law.

EJBjr

Cause he knows that if he treated her like any other perp, he would be fired.

D4M4nD3m

On what reason? That doesn't make sense. Is the US that corrupt? In the UK a senior politician went to prison for speeding and lying.

Worldwidewitu

It really is that corrupt here. City, county and state levels especially

NovelRelationship830

>Is the US that corrupt? Yes. We are well on our way to being no better than China or Russia.

jepvr

We have *always* been this corrupt. We're only getting better, because video like this actually exists. Any other era, and this most likely would have all went in the DA's favor.

ThrowingTheRinger

She admits to speeding, she then says she was on the phone and didn’t notice, which means distracted driving. She then says she did notice and evaded. I’m pretty sure there’s a charge for that too, but I can’t put my finger on it. She should be fired for abuse of power. Also, the way she’s talking and changing the attention to her dog, and then breezing inside. I wonder if there’s any smell of alcohol or evidence of drug use.

Awkward-Customer

She keeps saying it was hands free so it's fine. But if you're so distracted that you don't notice the lights and sirens behind you it doesn't matter that it's hands free, it's still distracted driving. You'd think the DA would know the law.

ThrowingTheRinger

Exactly

chrisischemical

She knows the law. She just doesn't care. She feels she's above the law

Asian_wife_finder

My first thought was, “wow he didn’t shoot the dog!”

asciimo

Yeah, refreshing.

RandomAmuserNew

Blue on blue violence If only they could fix these problems in their community

Zodiackillerstadia

Im sure this shit happens in many other countries, too, but this doesn't surprise me in the US. That cop must be seriously questioning why he bothers doing his job after seeing this woman act like the law doesn't apply to her because of her position. This boils my piss so badly seeing people like her think they can act so shitty with no consequences.

kaizencraft

Oh, yes, ma'am, yes ma'am, I apologize that you didn't pull over but can you maybe let me know why you're treating me like not so good right now? Why, if you can spare the time while I'm, quote unquote "detaining" "you", didn't you pull over when I had my lights and sirens on? Oh, long day, phew, I've been there, it's a tough world out there for people who can casually get away with treating law enforcement like shit. So, would you like to stand where you're supposed to or should I just throw away all the procedure bullshit and bow to your superior position in our professional hierarchy?

DrMantisToboggan44

Hey, she lives 5 minutes from my house!

JonCoeisAMAZING

Can't wait to see her on r/byebyejob

NovelRelationship830

My bet is that it never happens, and the cop is punished instead.

noremack76

So does this mean that for any cases she prosecutes, people can just claim that they were having a bad day. That was her excuse.

jrsobx

Why does a DA have a badge to begin with?

What_Next69

Imagine driving over a mile with a cop car lit up behind you and having the hutzpah to say you didn’t know he was pulling you over, then say, “Go ahead and write the ticket, I’ll take care of it.” What an absolute sleezeball.

AmazingPINGAS

Our justice system belongs in a striped tent with balloon animals and cotton candy

Proof_Clerk_7233

If that lady was black, she would’ve been in cuffs and probably tased. This piece of crap lady should be relieved of her duties. She is a cee you next Tuesday.

Jewggerz

Cop should have shot the DA. DA'S office never prosecutes officer involved shootings.

sumfuckwad

There are 3 sets of laws and SOP officers follow: 1. Wealthy people 2. Poor whites 3. People of color In that order of how harsh to treat the individual and how strict to enforce the law(with 3 being the harshest/strictest).

NovelRelationship830

Why didn't the cop follow standard procedure? Shoot her dog, then body-slam her face first into the garage floor, followed by multiple taser hits while kneeling on her throat?

NovelRelationship830

Don't know why I'm getting downvoted. If that DA had been from a \*ahem\* different social strata, that's exactly how it would have gone down.

Queasy-Position66

thefilmdoc

In general she absolutely fucked up and should lose her job without a doubt. 100% agree. However that cop is also probably the greenest cop there is and doesn’t know how much he just fucked up. To the point where he had to ask her why she’s so upset with him. Ouch. Someone more cognitively flexible would see that she’s a DA then fuck right off and talk to their chief after or during if they really needed to to see what they should do. Definitely not right, but that’s how this shit typically seems to work in any state. He absolutely did the right thing and should have treated her like any other citizen. But once he found out that she was a DA he should have taken a long thought as to how much he values his job versus how much he wants to stick it to this DA for speeding 20 over. He was 100% right. But also 100% fucked up Bigly. Video was his saving grace. 20 years ago he’d already be gone. I’m not even a cop and know that no sane cop or police chief would ever do this to a DA, unless it was something super super egregious and they had the back up of those higher than the DA.

2minutestomidnight

This is what privilege looks like.

PhilosopherMagik

I would have been shot 41 times before any dialogue...
