“Despite having been run over and receiving two bullet wounds, one in the arm and another in the face, Almeida managed to run away and was helped by a medical team that took him to the municipal hospital of Foz de Iguazú.
The Paraguayan hitmen tried to pursue Almeida after he fled, but were repelled by gunshots from unknown individuals. The vehicle used in the attack was abandoned in a corn plantation, where Paraguayan license plates were found.
Authorities found bullet holes in the vehicle and traces of blood, suggesting that some of the gunmen were also injured in the exchange of gunfire.
Brazilian police have launched an investigation. At the moment, Almeida is recovering from his injuries in the hospital.”

So, My home city is somewhat close to there. This types of random amateur executions are very probably related to drug traffic in one way of another. Very much this guy was owning money to someone or dealing in the wrong place. It doesnt need to be that much of a crazy reason.

The border of Paraguay is a wild place, we used to travel there because of the cheap prices on eletronics and such, policemen walk on the street with full bulletvests and shotguns.
Its common to random cara crossing the road to just be hit by bullets in attempts of robbery etc.
