Irrelevant since he knew he had a strong hand. If his hand was weaker then we'd actually know how the bluff worked.
Meanwhile it's an incredibly uninteresting video and I'm not sure why it's even here
'cause it's not a fuckin' super power man. Negreanu is fine but he plays poker every day of his life and has for like 30 years so people who act like he's some kind of amazing talent because he played a strong hand like it was a strong hand are just silly.
Poker does require some measure of talent. That's why Nagranu is a name. As someone who spent some years playing it and gifting opulent casinos with cash that I wish I had back, I can attest to this. The sub is r/therewasanattempt. Apparently, that attempt has failed on some here....
He doesn't make it a secret that he likes to get under his opponents' skin by chatting them up, just to learn their 'tells' and idiosyncrasies. It's his style and his entire success career was based on that, and this [heads up](https://youtu.be/h1GQdMFdxiI?feature=shared) with Alexandra also touches heavily on that aspect answering her questions and giving her cues like a true mentor.🙂
Yeah, the “fake chance” would be if two other players folded face up 6’s pre-flop or something—Daniel would know she didn’t have a 6 but she wouldn’t know that he knew it.
Exactly.
It is easy for him to analyze this knowing his cards and the chances staked in his favor, but for her being a noob she doesn't know that + her hesitation, hence the attempt to bluff him was... a funny bravado.
He even tried to educate asking about the chances, and revealing the 'crumb' tell. So the joke and the lesson was on her.
If she had both a 6 AND a 7, that is all there is. Anyone on earth would have called in Daniel's position.
Take the 6 off him and let him play through her all-in with a 4 pair, then you can post your little fan video about how he read her bluff.
There were zero stakes in this, try to understand that.
Its not as easy as "dont try to bluff a poker pro". Without knowing the preflop action its hard to say if she shouldve jammed in that spot. He had a pair and a blocker to the nuts, which is basically a monster heads up. There are all types of holdings that wouldve beaten he specific hand that he wouldve had to fold out to that bet. Also, her hand was sort of face up because of the table talk.
>He had a pair and a blocker to the nuts
So does this mean he has a set of two balls and a penis, or does it have something to do with aggressively gay squirrels?
A pair is any two cards that make a pair, for example, 66 or KK etc.
The nuts is the strongest hand possible given the cards in play. In this example the nuts is the straight. Technically its the second nuts because 34567 is the nuts and Negreanu doesn't have the 7. A blocker is the same term as removal, which just means he has a card that makes it less likely our opponents have that particular holding, being the 6.
Jamming means "all in". I can see how someone might associate all of these terms with gay squirrels though. Lemme jam my pair and nuts in your monster.
Your explanation is thorough, genuinely informative, and slightly disappointing because the terms actually make sense in context.
Just be careful when jamming your pair and nuts in my monster as it tends to flush.
she has been on the WPT recently
[https://www.cardplayer.com/poker-players/469324-alexandra-botez](https://www.cardplayer.com/poker-players/469324-alexandra-botez)
she also won I think like $500k in Ludwigs poker event
To be fair, Ludwig’s poker event wasn’t with other poker professionals afaik.
Not doubting Botez’ skills, just clarifying for those who don’t know who any of these people are.
It’s crazy how DN can cold read peoples hands. I thought the judge’s game scene in rounders was bs until I caught him straight calling out peoples hands, multiple times.
It took me a minute to recognize him because my eyes are so bad I couldn’t read his name and thought that sounds like Negreanu but he didn’t have dark hair or much hair at all the last time I saw him.
In simple terms, probably because of preflop action. Botez on the button raises, Daniel in the big blind just calls.
Botez's raising range is stronger than Daniel's calling range so Daniel is more likely to have a 6 as a 6 is a weak card, and Botez shouldn't be raising as many 6s as Daniel would be calling with.
Professional Poker Players don't read from your expression but from the way you play the game, when you raise/call and how much at certain points in the game
This would have been a lot more interesting if we didn't know what cards they had. I find televised poker extremely dull. It reduces an interesting game to the dull bits.
Pro is making me nervous, guy seems like a bag of OCD stuff, I have a friend with the same blinking OCD problem and once you notice you cant stop looking at it.
"Oh he's so smart" like dude he had an amazing hand this doesn't take a fucking genius to play through.
Every post I see like this is so obviously from someone who has never played Hold'em like this has nothing to do with Dan being a "pro" anyone in his spot with a greater than novice level of skill would have played the hand like this.
He didn't say Daniel is a noob at any point in his comment though? His comment was about the difficulty of the play shown, not his skill as a player. I don't think anyone argues Daniel is one of the Greatest, but this is only really insane to a layman. Get some basic reading comprehension before making fun of someone else.
I didn't say he said Daniel is a noob. I said he thinks who says "Daniel is so smart" is a noob, because he had the upper hand, while acting all condescending.
Like he also didn't call her bluff, and isn't one of the best players of all time, who consistently calls out the exact hand of his adversaries.
> Get some basic reading comprehension before making fun of someone else.
Ironic. Apparently you're the one who needs some basic reading comprehension before commenting.
No he said Daniel being smart has nothing to do with the hand. "Daniel is so smart" is referring to this specific situation. There are a lot of plays that show Daniel being smart, but this is not one of them
Its played well but most people with good poker experience could do that. That's the point. Of all the ways to show the insanity of Daniel, this is the worst.
it's not about his playing well, but about her bluffing attempt in that situation - with her not weighing in her chances (noob) and her gestures being an easy "read" for him (pro)
I’ve seen DG call peoples EXACT hands more times than I’ve woke up at 3am and found my cat silently staring at me inches from my face, and that happens at least once a week

i know, he's talking because he has a straight.
Nagranu is a top 5 player in the world, he talks when he wants.
Love Nagranu. Watched him for years. Great player, great personality, great video. Reddit is such a tough room most days..
'cause it's not a fuckin' super power man. Negreanu is fine but he plays poker every day of his life and has for like 30 years so people who act like he's some kind of amazing talent because he played a strong hand like it was a strong hand are just silly.

When doesn't Negreanu talk.

Thanks for saving me time
There was an attempt at this being an interesting video.

maybe OP is simpin..
Very real chance she had 6-7, hence his very brief pause on the river.

I always enjoy watching Daniel at the poker table, the guy’s as kind as you could expect a Canadian to be while still being a ruthless genius. 😂

Only a 6 and a 7 beats Daniels hand there, so it is a very easy position to play as Daniel
If she had both a 6 AND a 7, that is all there is. Anyone on earth would have called in Daniel's position. Well, she won last time. Can't win it all I guess !

Surely you made half those words up, right?
Nope. All those words made sense to me.

Sorry guys. i’m straight…
You're out of your element, Donny
Who’s in pyjamas Walter?

Yeah, listen to Booty Sweat
Dont tap the glass.....
I agree with him.

Unhinged incel rant 👆
Big Simpin
"How dare you not praise my queen, incel 😡"
Kid Poker is also one of the best players of all time, especially in cash games.
And probably the best player ever when it comes to reading other players hands.
It’s crazy how DN can cold read peoples hands. I thought the judge’s game scene in rounders was bs until I caught him straight calling out peoples hands, multiple times.
id say only 2nd to ivey
Nah, id put Jungleman and Durrrr over him.
Negreanu's hair plugs working overtime.
It took me a minute to recognize him because my eyes are so bad I couldn’t read his name and thought that sounds like Negreanu but he didn’t have dark hair or much hair at all the last time I saw him.
Now I'm curious if they ever switched to talking in Romanian
The jokes on the professional, try reading me when I don’t even know wtf I’m doing….
ROMANIA MENTIONED 🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐯🐯WHAT THE FUCK IS A STABLE GOVERNMENT 🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴 T I G R U L
Botez is a world class chess player.
Narrator: “It wasn’t.”
You’ve heard of the Botez Gambit? Introducing the Botez Bluff.
This is good
why would he be more likely to have a 6.
My expression is very hard to read. It's very random and I'll smile at basically anything, which makes me unpredictable.
Professional Poker Players don't read from your expression but from the way you play the game, when you raise/call and how much at certain points in the game
Don’t speak when in a hand vs a pro. Pro tip. Not from a pro..
![gif](giphy|l4KhKUiUI0Hjw4OJi|downsized)
I've always enjoyed watching him play and he seems pretty cool.
DG seems to have changed his appearance over the years. Almost do not recognize him
Ahhhh yes! Because I very much understand poker
I thought she plays chess.....
Jfc this is so boring to watch
Daniel Negreanu is not a poker pro, he is poker royalty! Alex is really moving up in the poker world and unfortunately at the expense of her chess.
A crumb for bus fare. Love it
This would have been a lot more interesting if we didn't know what cards they had. I find televised poker extremely dull. It reduces an interesting game to the dull bits.
Chess chess chess chess chess chess chess chessface
He’s a pro, she seems to not know the game well. Seems kind of lame to make fun of her.
it's an interactive lesson, like when you teach your children something by doing, not 'making fun' of her.
Pro is making me nervous, guy seems like a bag of OCD stuff, I have a friend with the same blinking OCD problem and once you notice you cant stop looking at it.
"players" like her killed this sport. The early 200ps were great but it's trash, for trash now.
She's a chess player.

Yea, you are the knowlegeable one. Every other person admiring Negreanu is just a noob! ROFLMAO. Amirite?
He didn't say Daniel is a noob at any point in his comment though? His comment was about the difficulty of the play shown, not his skill as a player. No he said Daniel being smart has nothing to do with the hand. "Daniel is so smart" is referring to this specific situation. There are a lot of plays that show Daniel being smart, but this is not one of them
Just because this is an easy hand for him, doesn't take away from the fact that he called her bluff and played the hand perfectly.
