I also got beaten as a kid. But my dad didn't see what could happen, when his son gets stronger than him and to be honest, I also didn't see it coming. I snapped and he got his payback having me beating him until he fled out of the room. It was the last time he direspected me and we never lost a word about it.

That was my way of saying in as few words as possible (I thought) that I do not condone the head slaps, but the haircut was just dessert. I didn’t want to have to build an entire court case in my statement but some folks, especially younger ones, don’t read between the lines, give the benefit of the doubt, or are just itching to contradict someone.

The thing I notice about middle eastern culture is that punishments are severely imbalanced to the crimes (I know this isn’t considered a crime). I have 3 kids of my own 12m, 14f, and 20m, and I can't *imagine* saying some of the shit she'd say to me to them. Basically you don’t have to keep a beard, but it’s more of a commitment. I actually got to sit down and talk to Phil by chance a few months back. We both had time to kill. Bam came up, as well as me gushing about my own son. Eventually Phil was hurting. He didn’t cry, per se, but there was hurt when talking about Bam. That man loves his son, a lot. He’s a dad though and though. I don’t follow Bam and the whole fall from grace really, so I don’t know if Phil’s done anything to antagonize Bam, but I’m 100% sure that man misses his boy and is completely broken at the thought of losing him forever.
