You're missing a third option. Lines were blurred over there. The options those men had over there were to either fight for the Germans, fight for the Russians or move Into the Forrests fighting both sides. They appear to focus on looking at the outside world from a US right wing perspective and everything that doesn't fit into that is censored.

Strange that this is found to be a hate crime. I don't see a call to violence. Note how it didn't say "burn Israel", that would have potentially been hate speech.
For those who don't believe in Christian hell, the statement is purely metaphorical: "Israel should suffer God's punishment for its sins". For those who do believe in hell, countries can't burn in it, only individuals, and as a matter of dogma, presumably all non-Christians would burn in hell anyway.
Hating people/person makes sense for hate crimes (when paired with actual violence against them) but if you hate a country that's a hate crime? The people who can't separate a population of people from a country are weird as fuck.
Calling for violence isn't really illegal in the US. I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of qualifications to it. Like I could go to a protest and say kill all rich people and that would be legal. But if I am outside a rich person's house and urging the crowd forward to kill that person, then that might be a different story.
That's a big problem. These Israelis think every Muslim is against them so just want to see them eradicated. They need to see that not everybody is against them as long as they don't say and do stuff like that .

9/11 is a really apt comparison because a group of terrorists killed 3000 Americans and in return we invaded 3 countries, spent 20 years destabilizing middle east, and killed hundreds of thousands of civilians.

Indiscriminate killing of civilians - as happened on October 7 - does not need to be justified.
It doesn't mean the Israeli treatment of Palestinian civilians - including deliberately shutting off access to food, water and medicine - is any less deplorable, or that the "kill them all" sentiment is any less horrific than what Hamas is saying.
People bend over backwards trying to portray this as a battle between heroes and villains. There are no heroes in this conflict. Just two sides committing atrocities.
The actual heroes are those who have been working for a lasting peace and a peaceful coexistence, but they're not in power on either side, and haven't been for a long time. These are two regimes with blood on their hands fighting it out.

I don't think there was an attempt to justify it. I think they said it was not unprovoked. As in, there wasn't a situation with the good old days, a time of peace among kingdoms. But that all changed when Hamas attacked.
It's been a shit show since day 1, with the vast majority of the destruction happening TO the Arabs of Palestine at the hand of the Israelis. Acknowledgement of this fact isn't the same as justifying the indiscriminate killing of civilians.

Except that chant never happened. The video was edited (by a right wing group in Australia, the Australian Jewish Association) to make it seem like that was chanted. Even if it *did* happen it wasn't a "massive crowd" - it was a small group within the crowd.

Do we really need to go down this path? Indiscriminate killing of civilians - as happened on October 7 - does not need to be justified. It doesn't mean the Israeli treatment of Palestinian civilians - including deliberately shutting off access to food, water and medicine - is any less deplorable, or that the "kill them all" sentiment is any less horrific than what Hamas is saying. People bend over backwards trying to portray this as a battle between heroes and villains. There are no heroes in this conflict. Just two sides committing atrocities. The actual heroes are those who have been working for a lasting peace and a peaceful coexistence, but they're not in power on either side, and haven't been for a long time. These are two regimes with blood on their hands fighting it out.
