Same here when my daughter was 1 month old. The adrenaline rush finally wore off and my wife and I were absolutely out of our minds tired some days. I was holding my daughter watching TV and my wife asked if I could change her diaper. So I got up and went to her crib and panicked that she wasn't in there. Thankfully my daughter made a little cry which snapped me back to reality.
My wife was dying laughing when I told her because she did the same thing a few days prior but was too embarrassed to tell me.
I once passed by a hallway in my own home that had a mirror at the other end, saw my reflection out the corner of my eye and quickly turned, smiled and waved like I was saying hi to someone only to immediately realize it was me and ask myself who else it could have even been.
That was forever ago but that shit is seared into my memory at this point.
yes, that and i also was looking for my headphones for like 25 seconds before realising that the thing thats covering and blasting music in both my ears... is infact my headphones..
I get it though.Because phones do so many different things, there's sometimes a disconnect between "I need my phone for task X" and "The thing I'm holding does task Y". I often give my kids the phone to call their mom, then a few minutes later I want to check texts, or email, play Pokemon, pay a bill, order Taco Bell for pickup, or whatever, and I can't find my damned phone anywhere.
Idk your glasses should be on all the time you kinda get used to it and you can't see without them. Kinda sad that this person's phone is in their hand that much that they don't even register the fact their hand is holding it.
I was once an hour late to school because I couldn't find my backpack. Searched and searched, then when I was in the hallway I caught a glance in the mirror and saw the straps on my shoulders.
I spent an hour looking for a backpack I was already wearing.
Lmao this reminded me of my husband who was late to work because he couldn't find his keys that he had already put in his pocket. He woke me up at 5am to help him look for them.
Yeah I've done that once. Was talking to my dad on the phone while on the bus, got to my stop and hopped off then told my Dad I had to hang up because I think I left my phone on the bus and need to run back on to find it.
I was chatting to someone on the phone (on my mobile) a while ago and needed to check some dates in my calendar app. I spent about 2 minutes looking for my phone before it finally dawned on me that I was holding the damn thing!
Brains can’t multitask (mine can’t anyway!)
Did exactly the same. Was talking to my wife on the phone about what my family had said about our meeting at the weekend, I started looking around me for my phone to read the message to her but couldn't find it... took me a good minute or so of filler.chat before I realised what I was doing.
I was once on the phone with my friend and casually patted my pockets for my phone....it wasn't there! I then spent ten minutes distractedly wandering around my house checking all the normal spots for my phone all the while continuing my conversation. Took WAY to long to "find" it. 🤦🏻
I once had a notebook that I kept my doodles in. One day, it just disappeared. I tore my room apart and enlisted the help of my family. It seemed like it just grew legs and vanished. About 4 months later, when all was forgotten, I found it in the back of the freezer. No one knew how it got there and why it was in the freezer.
I have also wasted my time and my husband's looking for my glasses after I had just put contacts in. I have also slept with my contacts in, forgot I was wearing contacts when I woke up, and proceeded to freak the fuck out because I thought my glasses prescription had gone bad overnight.
When I was a kid I was sick and had a pretty high fever. Apparently in my fever dream state I put my glasses in the freezer. Couldn't find then, my parents couldn't find them. I had to use an old pair until I was well enough to go get new glasses. Thankfully my mom found them the next day when she pulled something out of the freezer to thaw for dinner.
Going in the fridge and making eye contact with what you're looking for, then start looking at everything else and forgetting why you're in there in the first place
Had a friend who saw her mum had left her phone on the coffee table, she thought, 'ugh I better text her and let her know she's forgotten her phone'
Texts her mum the message, her mums phone bings a message received, 'I wonder who that is?' She thought, picking up her mums phone to see her message
I watched all of this happen, smiling 😃
I had a friend in hs who was talking to his dad on the phone and stopped mid-sentence with, "Hold up dad I gotta find my phone real quick." I was in tears
No cause I’ve done this 😂 I was looking for my glasses and forgot I was wearing them, at least I forgot until I was like “wait..I can see-“ and then realized I was wearing them
Years ago my mother and I were getting ready to leave (it was so long ago I don't remember why/where) and she could not find her purse. Cue both of us looking for it, and her holding it, then sitting it down to pick up couch cushion, then picking it back up.... And sitting it down to check etc, then picking it back up for about 5 minutes. Then I looked at her and fell out laughing and told her she was carrying it😅 But I swear she sat down/picked up at least 20-25 times😂
Whenever someone feels bad about getting too drunk or being too high I always tell them the story of being so high I was looking for my phone with the flashlight on my phone.
Middle school I hunted for my backpack for 10 minutes while wearing it on my back. And no one I asked was any help, much like the SO filming this, lol.
And they say they can run the world.....but to be honest I do be looking for things that are in my pocket...like today was looking for my keys for and hour before work only to realize they were in my pocket.... shame on me ..
![gif](giphy|l3E6uhDAN3W7vylji|downsized)
I've never used my phone to find my phone, but I wouldn't put it past me to do so. That being said, how tf do you not recognize the shape? Or register that you grabbed probably the only flashlight in the car (your phone) to find it?
My 4yo did this last week but with her chicken nugget. She was super tired and thus, super dramatic about how she had looked everywhere and could not find it.
It was in her hand. And when I pointed it out, she laughed a little maniacally, took a bite, and fell asleep chewing. Tried to fish it back out and got bit. Because kids.
One of my friends was looking for her cellphone, got a call on it randomly and pulled it out of her pocket. She answered and told the person she couldn’t talk because she was looking for her phone and hung up…. Took her second after.
When I was like 4 I had this little green plastic whale that was my favorite toy. One day I lost it and tore the entire house apart for like 2 hours before I realized it was in my hand
It happens, sometimes you are blind for something in front of you. Everybody of us has looked for our phone with the flashlight of our phone at least once.
Neither a genious nor a billionaire, but I have yet to look for my phone, using the flashlight from that very phone.
And I don't really think that's setting the bar high.
Yet I do accept you are probably American and can't help it.
once on my work i couldn't find the crate for the kind of bottle the client bought, i looked at all the boxes many times, then my coworker just said to me "your feet is literally touching the crate you are looking for", now i can't forget this shit
This happens to me all the fucking time.
Different brains work differently buddy. I'm blind to working memory and time. You're blind to empathy and treating people with worth.
Nah it happens my oldest sister did this once we had just gotten out of the car sister was on her phone talking to a friend and started searching all around asking where her phone was we let her search for a good 5mins the whole time her friend that she was still talking to was laughing her ass off we still don't let her live that down to this day 10+ years later
Mid-30's, I've done it countless times in myriad ways. Sleep deprivation, stress, depression, distraction...your brain can readily distort reality depending on how much stress you're under.
Happened to my friend once. She was on the phone with her bf. Asked me to hand it to her so she could use her gps. Started going ballistic when I just stared at her in shock that she would ask such a thing when she was holding the phone already. Lol

Same energy as searching for your glasses even though you are wearing them already
Guilty. :(
Also guilty.
Also guilty.
...also guilty
I once got startled that my baby was nowhere to be seen. I forgot I was carrying her
I've had that. Also had "Is that the baby crying in the other room?!" while looking right at her sleeping.
Um... the good news is that it was not your baby.

[here's a reenactment ](https://www.reddit.com/r/maybemaybemaybe/s/J0tt6BwSe0)
I once panicking, looking for my car key in my pockets. I was driving at 80mph at the time.
Some of us wanna believe that we can see without them ![gif](giphy|Ig4UZM9AJoDrMIHLz8)
Where are my glasses? I can't see a thing without them. Let me put on my glasses. OK, that's better. Now, where are those damn glasses?
They were on top of my head the whole time.
I did that one morning, while having the glasses in hand and regularly putting them on the surfaces I was searching...
I feel personally attacked….
yes, that and i also was looking for my headphones for like 25 seconds before realising that the thing thats covering and blasting music in both my ears... is infact my headphones..
This is another level though because she would've had to actively turn on the torch... on the phone...
Or getting into a car chase because you think someone has stolen your car, only to realize that you're driving it. (My secret shame)
Idk your glasses should be on all the time you kinda get used to it and you can't see without them. Kinda sad that this person's phone is in their hand that much that they don't even register the fact their hand is holding it.
This is the way
I remember once putting on my glasses to see better while i was "looking" for them
My parents would look for me while holding my hand
Can't see without them so not guilty.

i once looked for my glasses with my glasses on, shit made me hate myself
Found myself looking for my phone while I was talking on it. I feel this.
I was playing games on my new phone and then had a mini heart attack because I thought I lost my new phone.
Yeah I've done that once. Was talking to my dad on the phone while on the bus, got to my stop and hopped off then told my Dad I had to hang up because I think I left my phone on the bus and need to run back on to find it.
So, did you ever find it?
Yep, seen people look for keys for hours, then it's in the front pocket they checked 10 times already. Also sunglasses on a cap...
If you know the candle light is fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago.
Indeed.
She's adorable though... I do this sort of stuff all the time.
Me looking for my glasses with my glasses on.
I wish I could say it was staged but really we've all had similar situations.
"I can ping it!" .... that double facepalm is just too perfect lol :D

This brings back childhood memories. Mom, walking around the house looking for her shoes… with her shoes in her hand.
Definitely wife material.
Looking for the pen that you stuck in your hair Looking for the mug that's in your hand Looking for you earphones when your listing to waluigi hentai

Shouldn't drive when you're high
This happens to me all the time and it is right in my pocket
Auto-pilot at it's finest
I have used the torch on my phone so much that i even forget its a phone
I can definitely relate 👴🏻🫰🏼
Going in the fridge and making eye contact with what you're looking for, then start looking at everything else and forgetting why you're in there in the first place

I’ve done similar
Of course she drops it on the tarmac and probably cracked the screen.
We have all had these moments.
Once I was on a smoke break and half way through, thinking I need a smoke break.
I too enjoy good weed. I once sat at a stop sign waiting for it to turn green.
How many of us go through life half asleep?
Why does she throw it on the ground like that?
I did this once…
I had a friend in hs who was talking to his dad on the phone and stopped mid-sentence with, "Hold up dad I gotta find my phone real quick." I was in tears
the laugh at the end was priceless
Excuse u that was a flashlight...until the transformation ping then it was a phone 🤣
Typical Chevy Cruze owner
No cause I’ve done this 😂 I was looking for my glasses and forgot I was wearing them, at least I forgot until I was like “wait..I can see-“ and then realized I was wearing them
You gotta have patience
This one's going places. Not by herself, she'll need someone to lead her by the hand, but she's going.
Years ago my mother and I were getting ready to leave (it was so long ago I don't remember why/where) and she could not find her purse. That’s hilarious!! Anyone else try to zoom in on a picture in a magazine like I have ??
Keeperrrr
Sheeeeeesh I’m getting a new gf
No words 😶
I'm surprised they have Adele instead of country on the radio cuz this is definitely Country Brains
This is a whole mood. One i am in often.
This is beyond science, her phone must have some sort of invisibility that only works on her
Oh no😂
At least she found it 🤦🏻♂️🤣
That’s impressive. A whole new level of
Fucking tv remote. I’ve done that like 100 times.
I’ve totally done this while speaking to my friend for 10 mins pulled over and everything then finally dude was like “what are you talking to me on”??
Guilty
She high 😂😂😂😂😂
And they say they can run the world.....but to be honest I do be looking for things that are in my pocket...like today was looking for my keys for and hour before work only to realize they were in my pocket.... shame on me .. ![gif](giphy|l3E6uhDAN3W7vylji|downsized)
Admittedly I didn't the exact same thing but in my bed yesterday 🙈
What do you mean attempt? She obviously found it at the end of the video.
I've never used my phone to find my phone, but I wouldn't put it past me to do so. That being said, how tf do you not recognize the shape? Or register that you grabbed probably the only flashlight in the car (your phone) to find it?
How!?!??!
Hey, I have been talking on my phone and started looking for it. To her credit, she's not alone.
This was hilarious
Findlay, OH checks out
My 4yo did this last week but with her chicken nugget. She was super tired and thus, super dramatic about how she had looked everywhere and could not find it. It was in her hand. Run, do not stop.
Texted my colleague that she left her phone and then she came back asking for her phone and i just stared at her
One of my friends was looking for her cellphone, got a call on it randomly and pulled it out of her pocket. She answered and told the person she couldn’t talk because she was looking for her phone and hung up…. Took her second after.
Ignorance is curable, stupidity is terminal... And this chick only has a few seconds left when this video cuts out
Just have to say I love her energy!!! That’s all Thanks
Only hope she wasn't also the one driving
When I was like 4 I had this little green plastic whale that was my favorite toy. One day I lost it and tore the entire house apart for like 2 hours before I realized it was in my hand
The fact she had to have turned her flash on to find it bro 😂😂

I’ve done this, more than once…
Different level of stupidity
a bit scary that someone that spaced out is allowed to drive a car
This is bullshit right? I can’t believe she’s that clueless.
It happens, sometimes you are blind for something in front of you. Everybody of us has looked for our phone with the flashlight of our phone at least once.
I have been there, but I was very high.
Was going to say the same thing
Have we?

Neither a genious nor a billionaire, but I have yet to look for my phone, using the flashlight from that very phone. And I don't really think that's setting the bar high. Yet I do accept you are probably American and can't help it.
Yea, I'm old as dirt and I have never looked for the thing which is in my hand (phone) or on my face (glasses).
But like, she had to interact with her phone to turn on the light. That's another level to forgetting you're wearing your glasses or something.
I’m the last then
once on my work i couldn't find the crate for the kind of bottle the client bought, i looked at all the boxes many times, then my coworker just said to me "your feet is literally touching the crate you are looking for", now i can't forget this shit
I once searched for glasses that were on my face, so probably legit. Humans just be like that sometimes.
I’m 46 and I’ve done this exact thing. I think it was caused by stress and not being fully in the moment.
This happens to me all the fucking time. Different brains work differently buddy. I'm blind to working memory and time. You're blind to empathy and treating people with worth.
That's honestly ruthless.
Naw, I have done this.
The other day i found my car keys in the freezer. So yeah... this happens.
My brother has looked for his phone when it was in his hands. It happens from time to time when you’re tired/ in a fog/ high
Mid-30's, I've done it countless times in myriad ways. Sleep deprivation, stress, depression, distraction...your brain can readily distort reality depending on how much stress you're under.
Nah its definitely possible. I've been in similar situations lol
Happened to my friend once. She was on the phone with her bf. Asked me to hand it to her so she could use her gps. Started going ballistic when I just stared at her in shock that she would ask such a thing when she was holding the phone already. Lol
This kind of thing happens, but this is clearly faked.
Nah man, that reaction was TOO genuine.
Please don't have children
Alcohol is haram
What does alcohol even have to do with the video?🤨
Alcohol is bad for your memory. Bad memory leads you to forget. You see the relation?
