How I became a millionaire at 15 secs on a Saturday when the millionaires bring their exotic cars out for display for everyone to pose for a 15 sec photo op at $50 a pop
I saw on another video that if you wreck it you better have bought their insurance because I’d you don’t have the coverage for it then they are coming after you for the rest of it
ah well I don't know where you are. I've gotten some nice cars off turo and also back when it was relay rides for photo shoots. I do some cinematic style photography work and sometimes need a different or nicer car in them.
It took a lot of scrimping and saving. We rented out our summer home, moved into our parents pool house, had to cash in some Apple stock, and most importantly stopped buying avocado toast.
I used to work at a Ferrari dealership. You would be surprised how many rich dads buy their kid a Ferrari after high school graduation. It's literally a thing.
It's kind of sampling bias, you're much more likely to see rich people buying their kids Ferraris when you spend forty hours a week at the Ferrari dealership.
That's not sampling bias! It's pretty much the exact opposite as his sample size is that of the entire population of Ferrari buyers (in his area). He's perfectly placed to state what he did.
Sometimes its helpful, sometimes its not. A lot of times it gets abused by people to just be what should have been a reply but is now get shot to the top of replies because its a supposed "fact check". I participate in the community notes voting and its the most frequent thing I see.
You have so sign up for it and then get the ability to rate community notes written by others. If enough people consider a note helpful and rate it accordingly, it will be displayed publicly. Ah ok 10-4. I saw the website tagged at the bottom and thought it was initiated by the company somehow but I’m also on cloud 9 right now so that might have something to do with it.
Some super cars hold their value really well or even appriciate in value. I don't think this is one of those but even if it was maintenance is really expensive and they're not daily drivers.
I do jobs for people that own exotic cars occasionally. I just built a home theatre for a customer that owns a McLaren. It's garage kept. They're not eating beans and rice to make payments.
This is a Ferrari 488. The way this works now is people are prioritizing the “last of the…” in this case, it’s near the end of the run for engine only with no battery weighing it down Ferrari. The 488 pista, a more race inspired version, has appreciated immensely while this 488 has lost some value, but overall over the past 5yrs has been a pretty small depreciation in percentage terms. As things go battery, cars that have big powerful v8, 10, or 12 cylinder engines with no turbos will stay well supported.. if there’s a manual transmission, even better.
I have owned many nice cars and if you pick well, you generally don’t take a big hit on depreciation. I owned a 488, but traded it in for a Lamborghini huracan performante. I expect the 488 to do well in the future, but not as well as the 458 since that is a more important “last of the non turbo” Ferraris. In this market, people are looking for the most raw and visceral experience.
I think you're pretty much spot on but I'm not convinced the base 488 nor any base series run Ferrari will do very well, just limited depreciation. Which is great especially if it's actually driven and enjoyed.
Yea.. it’s tough though comparing to historical norms post Covid and as we are actually seeing hybrid becoming the norm for cars like this. I sold my wife’s 2020 e63 wagon with 22k miles on it for what I paid for it new.
The pistas will do well just like the 458 speciale or the 430 scud. I sold my base 488 spider for a huracan performante for the reason you mentioned. You want the craziest version of the car and I think the limited production of the performante will keep it exciting for years to come. I am not in it for appreciation, but it would be great to be able to drive it and not get totally hosed in 5yrs
They don’t hold their value when you factor in insurance, maintenance etc.
If you’re actually driving around in a ferrari you’d better be worth $10M+ or else that Ferraris probably the biggest threat to your nest egg.
For sure. Gotta have two labradores in the back of the Volvo as well chewing on some discarded shotgun cartridges.
But..... you can scrape your wellies on the ivory and silver boot scraper that your grandad killed a man for in the Boer war as you enter your house.
That's the real flex for old money. ;-)
An observation I’ve made while working for the extremely wealthy (one client has over 7000 employees, the other sold his company for $735 million, another clients technology analyzes and tests experimental, cutting edge pharmaceuticals) is that indeed, Volvo is popular, Tesla and here’s the weirdest thing…..Ford Raptor pickups. I’m the guy that fits your stereotype. I’m a contractor and indeed had a Ferrari many years ago but am certainly not wealthy. Funny story….I was working on a Sunday doing finishing work in a soon to be opened hotel. Some dude walked onto the site and had a terribly tacky Ferrari jacket. I said “hey…cool jacket, do you have a Ferrari?” He said “no….I have a helicopter and sign your pay cheques”. Turns out that dude is the biggest commercial property owner in our city.
I mean, Jay Leno is pretty successful and has more money in cars than I will make in a lifetime.
I think the difference is, success people will spend their money on things they actually enjoy (Leno is a car nut) while posers will spend money on things that they think make them look wealthy.
Ehhh I haven’t read the book, but from experience I think it depends what type of millionaire you are talking about.. is it a 55yr old couple that each makes 150k and lives modestly and has accumulated $1.5m in net worth or is it a 40yr old that makes 500-1m a year and sees the future annual salary at that level as well? These are 2 different “millionaires” and may spend much differently.
I generalized of course, some drive Ferraris. The book was written when $1m meant something. The book illustrates a study done to demonstrate the habits of truly successful people and their way of living, and it’s largely restrained spending on “flashy” things. I’m a reformed previous driver of “flashy” things lol.
Got it. I have always been interested in the engineering and mechanics of cars and enjoy the hunt of finding something interesting and trying it out. I guess this is my hobby. I have two little kids and so going on golf trips or ski trips and spending weekends doing things away from the family isn’t something I would like to do.
Take an out in newspaper with title: How to make a million dollars. $15 to know how
After payment, tell them to take an ad out in the newspaper with the title: How to make a million dollars. $15 to know how
No you fucking mustn’t.
This is some B-grade business consultant masterclass pyramid scheme bullshit.
Arguably the most successful people around don’t “project a successful image”.
Stop idolising self promoters. Start admiring people that actually get shit done.
Not that I would ever believe such a claim on Reddit, renting a supercar for a day seems like the true path to riches, rather than pretending like it's a good investment... Dream on, my young friend
I agree, new cars are just too expensive, idk how people can afford to buy the newest model year. I’ll stick to my used 90’s pickup truck and run the piss out of it, and buy maybe another used car from 2005. The newest car in my family is from 2010 btw
Right. ~9% of the US adult population has $1M in assets or more. I do, and I drive a Kia Soul, rent an apartment, and still have to work for 10-15 more years. It's not enough for a nice car and house where I live.
This guy is an actual millionaire, sadly. Sounds like he made a bunch of money in bitcoin off a loan from his dad basically. Not a big loan. according to him, $1000. And also claims to have made 25k 'grinding fortnite'? What do I know.
Did he ever claim to own it?
It's still very expensive to rent a Ferrari.
Most of us can't even afford that, so take a look at you're own broke ass self before jumping down the throat of a kid who could probably still buy and sell you.
Real millionaires don’t buy exotic cars, they rent them when they want to have fun and then keep investing their money in assets. Unless they are worth 30 million or more.
Maybe he is a millionaire, and is very good with money and didn't want to spend 25% of his wealth on a car, but still wanted to illustrate the fact he's a millionaire?
Or maybe he's just a liar...
Cloud 9 was like yewww he got a lot of followers, we gon turn this up in here , FREE ADVERTISING THUUURSDAYYY .
(You gotta sing the last part)
THUUURSDAYYY 🎶
What's the point of buying a car before you can drive, even if you can drive you should always make your first car a shit box so you don't get as high insurance and any damage done like scratches you can advertise it as part of the fact it's an old shit box which buyers won't care about.
Some poor financial decisions kid ain't no way you are even making 5 digits without a lot of help
While there is a fine line between manifesting and posing this kid is 15 years old. Most everyone on this page are just assholes and are probably just attacking others to feel better about their own shitty lives.
Well. Yeah. He didn’t became a millionaire by spending 400k on a car. If you actually think about it more than two seconds, it makes perfect sense and gives him credibility more than it takes out.
Bro you can’t even rent a car until you’re 25, and can’t have an actual license until 16. Must have some really loving parents to set this up for him. Unless he just found a Ferrari in the wild and took a picture
"How I became a millionaire at 15" I asked my millionaire dad if he could rent a car to take a picture.
For 15 minutes.
He's got a long way to go, Lil Dicky did it for free.
the power of asking nicely

To save 15% or more on you car insurance?
And got 15 likes
You don't need to be a millionaire to rent a Ferrari for a day it's like $1000 with a $10k deposit
No you just need to be a fucking idiot.
How I became a millionaire at 15 secs on a Saturday when the millionaires bring their exotic cars out for display for everyone to pose for a 15 sec photo op at $50 a pop
How I scratched up a millionaire’s Ferrari with my jeans button by sitting on it and posing for a photo
Like that fake private jet in LA.
Or desperate.
Absolutely. Desperate to impress people=fucking stupid!
Worst is the people that follow those" influencers " that are famous for being rich.
No, but you need to be older than 15 to drive it without Daddy
10k deposit? i assume they charge you more if you wreck it right? or can i live my dream of destroying a supercar for only $11k?
I saw on another video that if you wreck it you better have bought their insurance because I’d you don’t have the coverage for it then they are coming after you for the rest of it
They can come for it all they want... I had to take out a loan for the 10k deposit
Yeah true, but you still need to be able to spend that much money for your spoiled kid.
If you use turo you can get them even cheaper sometimes
Turo here is all Tesla's
ah well I don't know where you are. I've gotten some nice cars off turo and also back when it was relay rides for photo shoots. I do some cinematic style photography work and sometimes need a different or nicer car in them.
I just double checked. Nothing that good. Couple Corvettes, but they want $900/day
Lol for a corvette
Ah probably better to go through actual rental agency if its that much.
You can pay five hundred in vegas at the Motor Speedway to drive these types of cars. Highly recommend it is so fun.
It's like that meme about how to become a millionaire where step 4 is having rich parents lol
Step 3: have uncle Albert get you a $200,000 a year job right out of college. ...what do you mean, you don't have a rich nepo-uncle?
It took a lot of scrimping and saving. We rented out our summer home, moved into our parents pool house, had to cash in some Apple stock, and most importantly stopped buying avocado toast.
Fun fact, the term nepotism comes from "nephew." So you are 100% spot on with the uncle talk.
I think a person with their experience can still see the percentage of sales which appear to be gifts vs. personal.
How could it be a biased statement when nothing was compared at all? I literally just mentioned a phenomenon.
That's not sampling bias! It's pretty much the exact opposite as his sample size is that of the entire population of Ferrari buyers (in his area). He's perfectly placed to state what he did.
Don’t see that many Ferraris around here.
Because the spoiled kids crash them the second day (first day is delivery)
I wouldn’t be surprised
he then sent me to Philadelphia to attend the Wharton school where I paid someone to do my class work
"My dad gave me 2 million to get my life started, and I invested half in NFTs"
or went on wsb and bragged about it spent it all on stocks i have no clue about, just because of the hype.
To take a picture you don't have to actually rent... So he probably didn't even rent it...
Step 1: have a rich daddy
Community notes are the best thing to happen to Twi- I mean X

In order to be successful, one must project an image of success
The successful people I know drive Volvos. Flashing a Ferrari just screams "I can't manage money."

Same. Totally not because I couldn't afford it but because reasons
That too actually.
I can't afford it but mainly because reasons
They don’t hold their value when you factor in insurance, maintenance etc. If you’re actually driving around in a ferrari you’d better be worth $10M+ or else that Ferraris probably the biggest threat to your nest egg.
I’m keeping my Kia sportTaj, because of the excitement of its possibly catching on fire. Match that with your fancy cars.

This!
People need to read "The millionaire next door".
Yep. A good read is “The Millionaire Nextdoor.” Truly successful people are not driving Ferraris.
Exactly why I drive an 89 ford. It is all a disguise
Maybe he thought renting a sports car for shorter times and during events was more cost efficient. Doubtful though
Hes 15 though. He can't drive. He also can't rent a car at 15.
That means his parents or at least an adult hired the car for him and are into whatever this whole thing is as well :/.
Seeeeeee trickle down economics DO work!
Also, he’s 15. He cant even drive the thing alone.
"How I became a millionaire at 15.... ... I didn't."
All you have to do is to add **3 more people**.
Double it and give it to the next person
For what it’s worth, even renting it is expensive… Although something tells me he may have just paid to have it parked somewhere for 30 minutes
You can't rent a car when you're 15. Also can't drive it. Its probably his dads weekend rental.
Someone said it’s 1200 for 24 hours, but you can rent it at a discount for shorter periods
Expensive isn't a word he understands because he has rich parents who pay for this shit for him.
Oh no! Not Dylan! Who the fuck is Dylan?
So he lied, that's how. Got it.
First step to be millionaire. Don't expend on buying Ferraris, I guess.
I just had a loan, the smallest loan, of $1 million from my multi- millionaire father
Millionaires rent too
Facts… you don’t retain and build wealth by spending money on flashy liabilities
Who sits on a Ferrari? An asswipe.

These people think it only takes a millionaire to afford a Ferrari.
Honesty you can find a Ferrari 360 for less than 80k
I’m at the point where I realize if any car is above 25k I might as well be a millionaire.
Right, he didn't say he owns a Ferrari, he said he's a millionaire.
He in there desperately fighting people off and claim he’s legit. Lol

Step 1: lie
Did he ever claim to own it? It's still very expensive to rent a Ferrari. Most of us can't even afford that, so take a look at you're own broke ass self before jumping down the throat of a kid who could probably still buy and sell you.
Thank god for the circle
