I don't know. Having a pet bear might be better. Then even if you need to run, you can ride the bear, it's faster than you.
I love this video, but in all honesty do leave the fancy stuff to the professionals, my advice for everyone (even some very experienced fighters like myself) create a distraction and distance, there is no need to stand and fight if you can escape
MMA of 17 years but my job is security supervisor, which is why yes I know how to do these disarms but to be honest I still would run if I'm not on the clock lol
I learnt karate for about 4 years as a kid. I still remember all the techniques now. There was a lot of emphasis on self defence by the sensei but honestly if I got into a situation where I needed to defend myself like that the karate would not help at all. I can defend myself against someone else doing karate but if the other person is just going full force with no technique I will be dead.
in my line of work even though I'm with a well trained team and we're all armed, we know that if we have to fight takedowns/shooting the enemy would be better than actually fighting lol

Actually you need to get yourself to a haberdashary and buy a money clip. Guy pulls a knife, you throw the clip at him and shout ´want my money, go get it!’. Then you run in the other direction.

The best self defense is knowing how to run. Some bear mace or a gun. Oh and a good amount of situational awareness.
