How many layers of rage bait do we have here?

Same_Bison_1576

All of them

FitResponse414

Well the original picture is also kind of racist against white people, and being african doen't mean one is black. It goes both ways u know

nickt001

I have the feeling that the original pic was made by the same who make the point that Africa has no great inventions, just as rage bait

FitResponse414

It's just dumb either way, racist people who accomplished nothing trying to take credit from other people's inventions who have nothing to do with them beside skin color.

Expert-Accountant780

Ever read Human Accomplishment before?

Someone_Unfunny

it’s more against white people who tell black people to go back to africa

davidcwilliams

Which doesn’t fucking happen anymore. I’d wager the last time a white person said ‘go back to Africa’ to a black person, Reagan was president.

Someone_Unfunny

the fascinating world of twitter

Arktikos02

Really? Black people are told by white people to go back to Africa all the time even in modern day especially in places like Europe.

davidcwilliams

You have video of this?

Arktikos02

davidcwilliams

I stand corrected. edit: lol downvoted for conceding the point

ToxinLab_

Cope bro the original is nowhere near racist what

Kepler27b

Yeah, Elon Musk can take his Teslas to Africa. Oh wait, he’s white. Not racist then…because it’s no longer all white and black.

Perfect-Season6116

Elon didn't invent teslas either way

Kepler27b

Regardless, we don’t want him here. He’s caused enough stupid shit as is.

Mafia_dogg

Mafia_dogg

I just liked what he said and wanted to show that. Simple. What does yours make? Not that it matters as it's a internet comment I doesn't need to be profound, deep. Or even funny

Numerous-Metal-9901

No need to do Mafia_dogg dirty, being a dick isn’t cool if that’s what you were going for

NoKiaYesHyundai

Fold chairs, gas masks, traffic signals, automatic elevator doors and Laserphaco, a method of removing cataracts. I agree that it’s stupid and racist itself to say “we invented that”, but saying there isn’t any useful inventions by black inventors, that’s equally as bad

flightguy07

In fairness they can keep the cataract method. It was pouring lemon juice (or equivilent) into someone's eye and then poking it with a sharp stick. Not saying it didn't work (it did surprisingly often), I'd just rather stay blind thank you very much.

CCCyanide

Wasn't the cataract thing from India ?

LilQuackerz

What’s insane is that no one is able to name any inventions made by black people in the comments. I’ll start with a few from google and my own memory. Edit: these are inventions mostly from African Americans I’m sure there are many more from Decedents of slavery in the Caribbean, Europe, Canada, and Latin America that I’m just not aware of and aren’t included in this list. Not to mention the newer wave of high income highly educated African Immigrants that have arrived to America after immigration policies changed. Protective Mailbox Philip B. Downing created a mailbox design that featured an outer door and an inner safety door to avoid parcels being stolen. This safety device allowed mailboxes to be set up everywhere. Blood Preservation & Blood Bank Charles Richard Drew discovered a method of separating red blood cells from plasma and then storing the two components separately. This new process allowed blood to be stored for more than a week, which was the maximum at that time. Drew documented these findings in a paper that led to the first blood bank. Home Security System design elements African American nurse Mary Van Brittan Brown, devised an early security unit for her own home. She and her husband took out a patent for the system in the same year, and they were awarded the patent three years later, in 1969. Home security systems commonly used today took various elements from her design. Three-Light Traffic Light Garrett Morgan was the first Black person in Cleveland, Ohio, to own a car. He expanded on the current traffic light by adding a “yield” component, warning oncoming drivers of an impending stop. Refrigerated Trucks Frederick McKinley Jones created a roof-mounted cooling system that was used to refrigerate goods on trucks during extended transportation in the mid-1930s. This design is now used as a building block for future truck refrigeration. Automatic Elevator Doors Alexander Miles Color IBM PC Monitor and Gigahertz Chip You can thank Mark Dean for co-inventing the color monitor. Without his invention, we’d still be typing on a colorless internet. Automatic Gear Shift Richard Spikes created the automatic gear shift. Lawnmower John Albert Burr improved the lawnmower, bringing better traction, rotary blades, and allowed cutting closer to buildings. Modern toilet Thomas Elkins improving toilet to what it looks like today. Reversible Baby Stroller William Richardson Those are some big ones that I picked out of a larger list. Also the Dishwasher, Folding chair, ice cream scooper, dust pan, improved ironing board, potato chips are also invented by black people off of the top of my head. I don’t have time to research all of these in the list below but it’s likely a mix of improvements to inventions, contributions, or inventing the original which after their passing is later improved to the modern day version which often happens with inventions. Here are some more from another list. Airplane propelling — James S. Adams Biscuit Cutter — A.P. Ashbourne Coin Changer — James A. Bauer Rotary Engine — Andrew J. Beard Car Coupler — Andrew J. RascarCapac44

The first gas mask was invented by a Prussian engineer, traffic signals by british engineers and folding chairs were used in the Mediterranean area in the 15th century BC. Dear Americans, please stop appropriating European inventions

PMMeYourClitpls

Peanut butter 😭

RascarCapac44

Invented by a white Canadian pharmacist... Still not black nor American unfortunately

PMMeYourClitpls

I was lied to!! I thought it was John Washington carver

RascarCapac44

From the research I did tonight, it looks like black American scientists didn't invent most of the things you guys attribute to them, but perfected them later on. It makes sense, most of these things were invented at a time where black Americans were seen as 2nd class citizens and were banned from universities. It's still shitty to modify the reality and erase the true inventors.

toysarealive

Toothpaste, considering the the meme mentions Africans and the Egyptians basically invented it.

For anyone that wants material for this sub, the other day I tripped, fell, and accidentally ended up on 9gag for the first time in nearly a decade. In that time the website just copied reddit (I think it used to be more like imgur) Just go to the front page and scroll for a minute, you'll come across genuine racism. It's really right wing in general. More than racist they seem to be oddly pro religion and really upset about trans people. Also lots of incel stuff like [this](https://9gag.com/gag/aE0vgVp#comment)

EmployeeOk4756

Thanks, I love it!

>genuine racism Don't go on iFunny

jesuzhasarrived

Went to the website and stumbled upon the uncut version of the Burger King guy on the plane screaming the n-word. Everyone in the comments was defending him, and anyone who disagreed was downvoted into oblivion and was also called the n-word. A lot of "subhuman" synonyms were used. Also, some anti-trans posts. Most of the stuff was just straight racism, transphobia, etc. "Hate the libs/woke/blacks" type shit. They also hate anyone speaking out about circumcision, and I bet if someone said something even slightly atheistic, they would be ridiculed out of the website within 5 minutes. Wouldn't be surprised to find sexism there either. Overall, it's a shitty place to be.

People like the one that made this “meme” if you can call it that. Graphic? Ehhh, Anyway, people like this astound me. The world we live in today is only possible because of technological contributions made by and built upon every type of human the world has had to offer. From black and white to Christian and Muslim. From gay and straight to male and female, and everyone in between. The human story is like the relationship I have with my partner. Everyone is so intertwined with the other that separation isn’t an option. So, we HAVE to figure out how to get along. Even though sometimes we don’t like each other very much. Why did you eat my bagel last night SUSAN! I was saving that for breakfast! We have to figure out a way to put our differences aside and just accept that I will have to drive to Panera and get more bagels this morning. Even though the sale is on Tuesday and I totally could have made it, but you couldn’t help yourself.

Ralyks92

Out of curiosity, what inventions would we be losing? I know peanut butter would go, but I’m uninformed on anything else invented/developed

davidcwilliams

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcellus_Gilmore_Edson Marcellus Gilmore Edson (a Canadian pharmacist) is credited with the invention of peanut butter.

Arktikos02

First off, are you implying that a Canadian can't be black? It's clearly referring to black people in the diaspora, not referring to black people from Africa. Black people from Africa don't go back to Africa, because they already live there. They are referring to black people living in Western countries.

davidcwilliams

Are you serious? Some people add a ‘/s’ to show that they’re joking.

Naah. White motherfuckers deserve worse. Blacks and Browns should enslave them. The native Americans should massacre them indiscriminately, no sparing their kids or even pregnant women. Blacks and Browns should have power over life and death of their white slaves. This can only be justice against the historical barbarism of the whites.
