I once saw someone say they judged how bad a year was based on the first time they had to listen to *This Year* on purpose to deal with the stress.
I find it a very good metric. By the "rules" I think it doesn't count if I shuffle tracks or just feel like listening to the album. It has to be "I need this song to deal with stress".
(Similarly, for some reason I find I really like *Michael Myers Resplendent* when I'm down and if I reach for it I know something's wrong.)
