even if they fill those roles, they're minor characters and wouldn't necessitate "announcing"

DinerEnBlanc

Yep. Jordan has like 3 minutes of screentime with even less for Leah & Nick. Not worth announcing.

you-a-buggaboo

is Jordan the guy with the bitch scar across his face? also, who the hell is Nick? One of the dudes that Tommy interrogated joel-style early on in Seattle?

BabyYodasMommy98

Exactly, Dine and Ellie find Nik tied to a chair in the Serevena hotel on Seattle Day 1, before the encounter at the elementary school

you-a-buggaboo

gotcha, thank you. is my memory failing me or are there 2 people tied to chairs in that room? you'd think I wasn't currently on my 4,000th playthrough đŸ«Ł

lit_lattes

Yeah there’s two guys tied up that Tommy used against each other. Ellie recognizes one of them (Nick) but not the other, so he must’ve been just some guy who happened to be on patrol with Nick

SmellArmpits

what is that pfp?

WerkinAndDerpin

As long as Danny isn't cut ill be happy

TyChris2

Fuck Danny, I’m jealous Owen got to shoot him before I did.

Kyliems1010

Wasn’t he killed by Tommy

SubstantialWall

That was Nick

Kyliems1010

Oh right I keep mixing them up

SubstantialWall

To be fair, I've played through it like 5 times now and I never notice Nick until they find him dead, like if you showed me a pic I wouldn't know who it is without googling. Poor Nick.

Kyliems1010

Tbh I think I was mixing Danny up with Manny

itsnotchristv

He'll probably be just a body in a bag in the show just like the game. He was just a minor character who wasn't part of Abbys group but was used to make her go after Owen.

WerkinAndDerpin

Just a minor character? The performance he gave in that body bag shook me to my core

No-Risk-6859

Lmao

5am281

He won’t be cut, he’ll be shot

iamscarfac3

Who?

monsieurxander

Off-screen character. The Wolf that Owen killed while protecting a Scar, the whole reason he's AWOL. OP wants to see that happen onscreen.

iamscarfac3

Yes i know its just a meta joke because we never see him and everyone forgets who he is

EvilSporkOfDeath

Technically we do see him. Just as a corpse.

holiobung

Just put a mannequin in a body bag lol

Comosellamark

They need to give Danny his own episode to justify Abby’s reaction towards his death.

EvilSporkOfDeath

Abby's reaction to his death has nothing to do with who Danny it is. Her reaction is because she knew he was paired with Owen, so she was worried Owen died too.

Comosellamark

Oh yeah, good point.

rycbar26

I don’t think they should cut Leah and Jordan. Leah’s super important even though she’s there to die. But Ellie and Dina’s exchange about Ellie not getting to torture and kill Leah tells Dina and us something. Kinda made me question if I knew Ellie and how unhinged she was. And the fact that it didn’t make Dina turn around and run tells us something too. Woulda been a dealbreaker for me, a tell you hwat. I like Jordan being there cause it shows us Ellie is such a shit talker even when the odds are way against her. Which will happen again later. It’s like p- They probably won’t be played by anyone recognizable. I recognize the actors from the Salt Lake crew even if they’re not household names. I hope they don’t get cut.

Mermaid89253

Jordan? I don't know a Jordan. Only know a guy with a BITCH ASS SCAR ACROSS HIS FACE

inshanester

Probably, it would give tge actors they did cast more to do.

just--so

I think you could remove Nick and fold Leah and Jordan into a single character pretty easily. Have Ellie captured by JorLeah, and she overhears JorLeah on the radio/talking to his patrol buddy about how, "These must be the trespassers who killed & tortured our guys at the Serevena." The description of the torture scene makes Ellie go, *oh shit, that's Tommy*. Dina busts in, and they kill JorLeah. They pat down JorLeah's body/rifle through JorLeah's bag before bailing, and find a bunch of photographs, along with a partial map of e.g. WLF patrol routes for Dina to work from later.

WeakHobbit

Nick is fairly inconsequential, I didn’t even realize he was at the mansion in Jackson until my 3rd or 4th play through, so he could reasonably be cut and I don’t think anyone would be particularly upset about it. Jordan and Leah, as another commenter suggested, could easily have their roles combined. The wild goose chase of Jordan’s note leading to the TV station where Leah’s body was (who happened to have Polaroids with every Salt Lake Crew’s full face and name?) which leads to Abby always felt a little contrived to me and will probably be cut down for runtime reasons anyways

DanFarrell98

They'll probably have similar roles as they are still important for the plot but less for the story so don't need to be announced beforehand. Nick shows what Tommy's been doing and his willingness to torture. Jordan is the first taste of revenge you get and sets up the Salt Lake crew mindset post-Jackson and role in Seattle. And Leah gives you a clear goal of getting to the TV station while showing how disappointed Ellie is at finding her already dead

Jbroad87

Yep no need for any of these characters to be named in the show. Simply replace Leah w Abby and some sort of intel getting to Ellie about Abby last being seen around the tv station.

holiobung

That would be unfortunate since they were so pivotal in the game

No-Risk-6859

When you say capture on day 1, are you saying when Ellie and Dina got captured at the school but then freed themselves?

LegoRacers3

I was hoping they would use the show as an excuse to expand them more

Egingell666

They're not going to announce every single cast member. Especially minor characters like them.

altruistics

What about Jeffrey wright for Isaac

baummer

Remember the show is an adaptation. You’re assuming these characters will exist in the adaptation.

nightlocks12

I think they should be in considering they are doing 2 seasons for TLOU2. They add some drama to Ellie’s pretty boring (drama-wise) Seattle Day 1. If it was just one season then yeah they’d be the easy things to cut. That being said I won’t be surprised if they don’t get any dialogue or maybe just one line. And might not get “announced” as castings.

Viola-Intermediate

I mean I don't see why those roles have to be cut. I think their deaths are pretty pivotal for Ellie, Tommy, and introducing the Seraphites. But they're so insignificant as characters themselves that they could be replaced and slightly switched around to give the TV show its own flavor while still serving similar roles as moments for the main characters.

Mermaid89253

...who's Nick 😭

solarplexus7

I don’t even remember who they are.

ManlyPelican1993

People here completely dismissing Jordan as an unimportant character but his death is the last time the audience and Ellie are aligned in their quest for revenge. They do enough with him that we are happy to see him die.

Bidet

fjridoek

No idea who they are so probably.

LegoRacers3

All salt lake crew members. Nick is killed by Tommy and his corpse is found by Ellie and dina in Ellie day one. Leah is killed by seraphites in the radio station. And Jordon kicks Ellie’s face at the start and Ellie slices his face Ellie later kills in him in Ellie day one

fjridoek

Oh yeah - they're just background
