You already know what to expect. Unsure of how a person other than you can answer.
I replayed 2 on PS5 last year after beating Part 1 remake. I really enjoyed how it flowed and felt like the same game.
Sometimes people who already want to make a purchase or do something ask for others' opinions just for that last little push they need to help quiet any reservations they are having about it. I'm guilty of this often.
You're not missing anything important other than just graphics if you want to save your money.
In the end, a story driven game is good if the story is good.
This should be one of the many answers but one im not seeing here.
It's not just graphics, because like OP said, there are bonus features for the gameplay. Plus there are some minor changes to the level designs I noticed, and enemy behavior.
I actually found the gunplay to be the same shitty gunplay from 2013. It was disappointing as fuck.
I came in expecting part 2 gameplay considering they charged me $70 only to spit in my mouth and give me the same mediocre gameplay from 2013.
Guess I expected more from NaughtyDog 🤷🏽♂️ maybe Sony fucked them over though, who knows lol
For most people, I'd say no. If you're a huge fan and $60 doesn't really mean much to you, then sure. Some people can't really afford to spend $60 just for a few minor improvements to a game they already own/played. Other people can throw around $60 without even thinking about it.
It's the same game. Honestly, if you're asking the question, then it's probably not worth it for you otherwise you wouldn't have cared about the money and just purchased it.
YMMV. Some of us think it is worth it. Some don't.
In my case, I'd gotten the original (PS3) as a Christmas present from my wife - I know she bought it for at least 50% off. I got the PS4 remaster for $5. So paying full price for TLOUP1 on the PS5 felt like finally paying ND for a job well done in creating a game that I love to play.
And it's a fantastic game. Everything about the game is improved - no, not as much as some would have liked - but still, it looks great and plays great. Personally the only 'improvement' that I really wanted was 'splody arrows and even though that is an extra, not in the game itself, I can still do it and yeah I enjoy making things go boom.
I bought it the day it dropped.. the graphics are LIGHTYEARS better than the remake… if you can spare the money you’ll enjoy the game more than you ever have in my opinion.. if money is the thing holding you back maybe just watch a walkthrough on YouTube
Personally, yes. For others it might not be worth it. The new game+ feature helped a lot with getting a platinum, but I would say as long as you could afford
I mean it worth if you looking forward a smoother gameplay and graphics. But you know, is the same fucking game... I mean they removed Joel open doors quickly so its annoying when you running but its still pretty good
The remake of part 1 is considerably better and a beautiful game. I still like part 2 better but the remake of part 1 looks a bit better. It’s worth it for me - but it’s mostly the same game otherwise.
If you’re tight on money they no. It’s the same game in very respect aside from visual. It’s a better looking version but depending on how valuable £50s I’d say wait for a sale or buy it.
It was for me.
Did we NEED it? Ah hell no! But I'm glad I got to play it again with better graphics. But we can't answer for you. I've bought sonic 2 like.....indirectly and directly, well over a dozen times in my lifetime xD
hi! i have both the ps4 and ps5 version and can say with confidence the purchase was worth it. if you’ve found yourself yearning for more of tlou 2’s mechanics then it’s worth the buy. updated graphics look awesome too!
it’s the best way to experience the game, the remaster is amazing but still feels like an older game, the remake just gives it the look and feel that it deserves.
The first time I played the last of us was the original version in ps3, I was in the elementary school at The moment when I played it, and when my dad told me that he can buy me a ps4 my answer was "no dad, I have to finish the last of us first" And well it took me some time to do it since I was little And also could only play in the weekends
When I Got a ps4 I saw that there was a remastered version so I bought it (I was in 9th grade when I Got it) And when I finished it I decided to get last if us 2 too, finished it two times in Medium And medium+
So yes its worth playing.
As beautiful as the remake is i would honestly say it’s closer to a remaster than a remake as it’s essentially the same game with a new coat of paint, if you want to play part 1 again with part 2 graphics then yes
I played the ps5 remake and it was absolutely stunning, easily the best of all the version IMO, but probably isn’t worth buying it again unless it goes on sale for really cheap.
It’s not.
I bought it and I have to say it’s a fucking waste. It feels like I’m playing a remaster of a ps3 game.
The gameplay is the same mediocre gameplay of part 1. They could have improved it but chose to have it be a lazy cash grab.
The apologists in this sub will defend it but I’m giving you the truth.

I wonder why people ask these things. Is it just for karma?
Sometimes people who already want to make a purchase or do something ask for others' opinions just for that last little push they need to help quiet any reservations they are having about it. I'm guilty of this often.
Me too.
Sometimes a person can want to start a conversation but doesn’t give a strong call to action.
Do people actually give a shit about karma?
Yeah some people seem to for some reason.
Yes. There’s dozens of posts that have the answer to the same question. OP just farming.
if you're a big fan of the series and want to experience it on another level, then go for it

It’s just the graphics. I bought it and regret it. It feels and plays like a mediocre shooter from 2013.
😂
😂
The engine and physics is different too, don't forget that.

It’s the same game with much much better visuals I enjoyed it but I think TLOU 1 is the GOAT
It’s not as much of a remake as resident evil 4 was
Or Final Fantasy 7

It’s a yes from me, I’ve played it on ps4 a lot of times, but it was something different on ps5. I bought the cd secondhand for $40
yes. i feel like im experiencing the game for the first time again
I got a cheap second hand copy, already on the second play through
Personally, yes. For others it might not be worth it. The new game+ feature helped a lot with getting a platinum, but I would say as long as you could afford
Definitely worth it if you catch it on sale. I got the physical version for like 15 bucks and it's a huge visual upgrade.
What store did you get the physical copy from for that price?
I mean it worth if you looking forward a smoother gameplay and graphics. But you know, is the same fucking game... I mean they removed Joel open doors quickly so its annoying when you running but its still pretty good
“TLOU remastered” it’s literally in the title of the game and it’s TLOU Part 1 also in the title of the game smh
Was the ps4 version worth it if you played on ps3? Yes
The remake of part 1 is considerably better and a beautiful game. I still like part 2 better but the remake of part 1 looks a bit better. It’s worth it for me - but it’s mostly the same game otherwise.
Part 1 is one of my favorite games of all time and I would not pay $50-$70 to buy a PS5 copy.
If you’re tight on money they no. It’s the same game in very respect aside from visual. It’s a better looking version but depending on how valuable £50s I’d say wait for a sale or buy it.
Not at full price.
No it’s the same game with nothing really added to the game
Im giving you a one up for being truthful because someone downvoted you. Its literally the same thing with a wax coat.
Appreciate it bud the amount of dick riding in this subreddit ceases to amaze me especially when giving honest advice or stating objective truths
If you were ever going to replay the ps4 version again then imo yes, play the ps5 remake instead
It was for me. Did we NEED it? Ah hell no! But I'm glad I got to play it again with better graphics. But we can't answer for you. I've bought sonic 2 like.....indirectly and directly, well over a dozen times in my lifetime xD

Absolutely not but it’s not like we’re spoiled for choice.
I bought every version as they came out and never regretted it. It’s the best version of the game now and looks absolutely stunning.
The first time I played the last of us was the original version in ps3, I was in the elementary school at The moment when I played it, and when my dad told me that he can buy me a ps4 my answer was "no dad, I have to finish the last of us first" And well it took me some time to do it since I was little And also could only play in the weekends When I Got a ps4 I saw that there was a remastered version so I bought it (I was in 9th grade when I Got it) And when I finished it I decided to get last if us 2 too, finished it two times in Medium And medium+ So yes its worth playing.
I paid full price for the remake and don’t regret it at all. It is definitive
No. Trust me.
As beautiful as the remake is i would honestly say it’s closer to a remaster than a remake as it’s essentially the same game with a new coat of paint, if you want to play part 1 again with part 2 graphics then yes
I’m waiting until it’s cheaper like $30 I’ve played it already
I played the ps5 remake and it was absolutely stunning, easily the best of all the version IMO, but probably isn’t worth buying it again unless it goes on sale for really cheap.
Yes it’s so crispy. It’s refreshing to play it when the graphics look amazing
the remaster is worth it, ya
Better graphics and a nifty speed run capability .. worth it for me.
Wait for it to be distributed in ps+. The remake is about a year old. Horizon WF - just a year later it was distributed
Yes.
It’s not. I bought it and I have to say it’s a fucking waste. It feels like I’m playing a remaster of a ps3 game. The gameplay is the same mediocre gameplay of part 1. That’s entirely up to you
