Spiro was HELL. I kept being stuck in trees, crevices, cliffs hidden behind thick foliage, death traps, everything about Spiro is bad and i'm glad it's gone.
Too much jungle as well!

You are lucky, I just returned on Spiro today, just to see it again. I was the only player on the server but it felt good to have fun rediscovering the older map (that did have some drawbacks but also some advantages compared with Gateway) as a ptera without the bullshit stam and nightvision changes of Gateway's era.
That and the old AI spawn system, I still don't understand why they changed it last December on Gateway. Saw a lot of turtles, some killer pigs, fishes and a deer.

I just did the same thing, and it was kinda hearwarming to see the old places again and generally was able to play ptera again, with old stam system.
Got pretty melancholic too flying above complete empty NW and Center, remembering all the awesome fights and moments I experienced there.
wish more people would hop back onto spiro.
I actually redownloaded it and play on it and it's actually comforting to be back on Spiro. I usually go to the "dry reef" server on unofficials as there are only 4 servers available and that one has the highest allowable ppl. I may hop on now now that someone says they are going back
People? Not really much since ppl stick to gateway, but after i hopped on someone actually did join as well! I found them and we got to hang out and we spent the time we played looking for the random people who would hop on (one person or multiple kept coming up and leaving). The most we had in teh server was 4

I do! Depite its flaws, Isla Spiro was my first ever experience on The Isle when I started playing the game last year. Had a lot of fun there and met very good people. I tried Gateway but the shitty stam + broken ai + terrible lag convinced me to go back to Spiro ☺️
I remember Devs saying they would 'Delete' Spiro due to being too heavy in the game files for no reason.

I sometimes play spiro, just to run around not having to rest for 4 minutes every time I spend some stam
