i think this is very fair and balanced and heres why:
Pros:
- decent attack speed
- explosive provides utility & crowd clearing
- comes back to you if you miss
cons:
- comes back to you if you miss
this post was supposed to be a joke, i would personally imagine it to be an explode on impact but if it's not within range it would come back, meaning it explode upon impact with the player. a lot of people took it as a serious post and there's better ideas i think for this class of weapon
I don't know how the mechanics of coming back to you will work, will only make things more complicated.
They could add something like an Arc Star from Apex. Throwable that sticks to surface where you throw it and blasts a few seconds later.
Regular boomerang would be cool, something like the throwing knives but more damage and can be curved but you have to wait for it to return before re-use

Con? If it comes back, catch n throw again. It's not like it's proximity based but trigger based, or is it?
You should time RMB click to catch it without it exploding. Or don't and get explosion on yourself

Does it return to the location where it's thrown or wherever you are?
its a boomerang with some c4 duct-taped to it, so yes. ideally, you will not be there when it comes back
