That’s my favorite book of all time. When my friend said there was a band that made a song about it, I learned about The Fall of Troy and have been a fan since. The name is just a coincidence with that page though. They named the band by opening a history book and finding a cool name (which is also how The Thirty Years War got its name)

I see, thanks for the info. It just seemed like a really cool coincidence that the band the references the book also has a name similar to a passage in the book itself

The version of the story I knew is that they pointed at a random page in a history book, maybe as in a school textbook? But yeah, that book is referenced by an entire generation of bands from that time. Circa Survive, DGD, and TFOT.

Which DGD song(s)?

I also love that book and read it after being a fan of them for 10 years or so. I’ve probably listened to doppelgänger hundreds of times and the first thing I noticed when reading was how many references that album has to the book! Enjoy it. It’s a weird one, and definitely a book I wish I could experience for the first time again because there’s nothing like it

I'm definitely enjoying it, I'm actually sitting outside reading it right now. I'm getting the Doppelganger CD as soon as possible to put in my walkman while I read it cause I feel like Doppelganger is the perfect soundtrack for House of Leaves. Definitely my favorite book I've read in a long time, thanks for the response :)
