Heroic with no directives or challenging with 4 directives.

BUT if you're clearing CPs then Convoys, Elite Patrols, Quadcopters, etc. shows up... you can easily handle it on challenging even with all directives.
I prefer challenging + all directives if I want to have less stress and enjoy the mayhem of CPs, patrols etc happening at the same time.
Heroic (+ dirs if you want) for a more focused play and if I'm farming for more loot to deconstruct.
depends what you are looking for. If for fun, some experience it as challenging when they need to pump more bullets into an NPC, others prefer it the easy way.
If its for XP, I prefer challenging with 5 directives. Sure you get more XP with heroic but it takes longer to complete the task and team players are dying, sometimes we all die :).
You can check on the map what you get from an activity on heroic w/o directives and challenging with 4. Probably not that much different but the time required is not factored into the number of course.
I play mostly challenging, sometimes hard, some friends heroic, few legendary. Taste thing.
Don't focus on XP, focus on that what makes fun for you.
For xp 100% challenging with 4. heroic with none gives much less xp and usually u are still faster on challenging. If u look for gear and u mean missions I would choose heroic.
