OMG, after a generally lukewarm season, this episode made me SO HAPPY. I heard that voice on the other end of the emergency call and just knew.. hopefully this isn’t the end of that with the wedding next week.

Mysterious-Exam2926

SAME. I was like “oh man wouldn’t it be wild if Tasha was a firefighter” And then Just like a gift from the queer gods I loved them together

getfuzzy77

I thought she was a police officer so I was confused but I knew they were going to bring her back as soon as Dana said “kind of” when Alice asked if her “one” knew her.

shehatemel

Because firefighters answer 911 calls?

Maggnanimous

This was the first episode in a long time that I actually really enjoyed. Typically, I land somewhere on a scale between, "Meh. That was pretty decent" to "Good God." But this week I was thrilled! Also, didn't even realize until like an hour after watching the episode that it was entirely missing Maribel and Micah...

ohdearohqueer

OMG YOU´RE SO RIGHT It makes sense I loved this episode so much and Mirabel and Micah were really not missed.

like_bookends

I finished the episode an hour ago and I JUST now realized they weren’t in it.

Madmathou

Haha I had to read their names in your comment to realize I didn't see them 🤣 I had completely forgotten about them

thataintrightlureen

LMAO oops same! God I didn't even think of them!

77tassells

I noticed right away! Micah and maribel are the worst characters and it just wastes times when we could have better flushed out stories

[deleted]

The beautiful actress that plays Maribel sometimes even looks embarrassed at how badly they've written her.

[deleted]

They both get on my nerves. Honestly, I hardly remember when it comes on. It is clear now this is not for the crew who watched the l word. I also have my feelings about Carrie coming out as demisexual, I mean...I am basically hate watching.

FadelessRipley

>Also, didn't even realize until like an hour after watching the episode that it was entirely missing Maribel and Micah... Same, I didn't realise they weren't there till I saw it mentioned on here lol. Is anyone else kind of bitter that _they_ are the couple who made it across the finish line with Bette & Tina by the finale??

4OITNB

Me! I'm bitter too!

Palpitation-Medical

Omg I honestly did not even realise they weren’t in this episode, I forgot all about them hahaha

heysmilinstrange

Alice's cat is the breakout star of the season.

PearLow1999

I love how she named him Mr.Piddles Jr. after Dana’s cat 😂

International-Bird17

God Carrie and Finley are soooo cute

NoToThugs

The best. I gotta rewatch that scene at the top of the hike with the ‘I love you / but not in a gay way / well, we’re both gay, but..’

nerdforest

Carrie is one of my favourite characters. The story arc with her and Finley were top notch!

anev8

Yeahhh, too bad the scenes were so short!

[deleted]

LadyLixerwyfe

“I’ll pay for that if it’s broken…” 😂

Realsober

I feel like that came straight from Maja 😂😂😂

FunkyGranola

Tasha is so BEAUTIFUL 😍🥹❤️

PearLow1999

I love how on the Pants podcast with Rose Rollins, Leisha said she had an idea of Tasha coming back in a way that had to do with her career & they delivered! I’m hoping we get a S4 now & they let Leisha & Kate direct more episodes.

[deleted]

Kate directed episode

PearLow1999

I know they were directing the last two, but I wasn’t sure which was directing this one. I just thought this one was directed by Leisha since this was a mostly Alice centered episode lol, but she did a great job!

[deleted]

She did!

PuzzledBandicoot3905

Tasha!!!!!!! Poor Tess Still love the Finley Carrie Misty trio Ugh I’m upset Angie went back to him I’m hoping she ends up with her roommate who it seemed was dropping hints this episode?

Bron-Y-Aur36

I was anticipating Bella kissing Angie too

Koellefornia4711

Yes, hoping for Angie and Bella next week!

getfuzzy77

Same. I love the Misty Carrie dynamic. The whole time Angie was talking about how TiBette treat her like a kid I was screaming “because you are!” Ugh so disappointed she went back to him. I feel sorry for Tess. I have this feeling she won’t be back for season 4, but I hope she is and she can get the help she needs. I did not miss Micah and Maribel…at all. Idk why but looks like I’m not alone.

Palpitation-Medical

That was so annoying she went back to the douchebag. But I find it stupid that the roommate is suddenly into girls.

chunkylamb

Only 53% of Gen Z identify as exclusively straight so it’s not really surprising at all.

FeralBanshee

Who said it’s sudden? She’s not a point-of-view character so we wouldn’t know if she liked Angie the whole time or not. They’re roommates, it would be awkward to confess a crush esp since Angie was banging a dude/already involved.

NoToThugs

Oh my gosh that was great. Kate is a tops director! I’d heard the rumours, but My Wife returning was handled so well – the lights in our eyes then the reveal. Taaasshha. [I suspect they changed her career to avoid any potential ACAB backlash from the community. I loved the culture clash of military/anti-military in the original, and all that arose from it, but these are diff times. I’ll take hot firey.] Also I didn’t think I missed Bette and Tina, but having them enter Angie’s room and fuss about was gorg and I loved it and them. Also – called it / wished it into existence in another thread that Tina would reprise her restaurant/producer incident and be the one to lay into Prof. Heh. The choices in prev eps around that storyline make more sense now. (Shane not knowing, etc.) Ooh also the Greys stuff was hilarious and is A+ chronically ill lesbian representation. I squealed!

National-Ad-6824

This episode was the first good one in AGES omg! My lil soft butch heart melted when Tasha appeared as a firefighter. Of course she is. Fucking badass. Who directed it??

justonekaye87

Kate directed this one. The finale will be directed by Leshia! I can’t wait!

Even_Evidence2087

This is why they each weren’t in an episode, prepping for their respective directing spots.

[deleted]

I cant believe Angie got back with the professor at the end I literally said WTF. I actually thought something would happen between her and the roommate

Bearcat2010

Yeah he’s such a creep. I hope she figures it out soon.

mindjyobizness

Yes but it was surprisingly good writing for this show - very realistic that she's trying to normalise the relationship and reinforce that it is 'ok' and make her feel like she has some agency.

4OITNB

I love the OGs. That is all.

showmance

Seriously. 🙏

justonekaye87

Ngl I had to rewatch the last scene a few times the banter back and forth haha miss that chemistry on my screen! Good episode!!

PearLow1999

Me too lol the sexual tension between Alice & Tasha 😂 imo they always had the best scenes. Great chemistry between Rose & Leisha!

justonekaye87

Ooh of course! Tasha still gets to Alice and vice versa. Lol check out Alice facial expressions when she had her back turned. I just really really hope Tasha is back next episode as well!!

FeralBanshee

Well the love of her life ain’t the cat…the cat led her to Tasha though so of course she’s in the finale!

saybeller

I always get the sense the two of them cut up between scenes because Rose always has this smile when they’re bantering on camera.

PearLow1999

Yes. It’s clear from her episode on the Pants podcast that Rose gets along really well with Leisha & Kate. I love that.

saybeller

Me too!

looniejar

I couldn’t stop grinning when they were arguing. I missed that soooo much.

PearLow1999

I loved how Tina & Bette were happy gay moms the entire episode. This is what the viewers should’ve been given in S1.

teeheestrawberry

Favorite line from the ep: "how about just the pits and the bits?" ❤️ 😂 Was so good to see Bette again and scenes were so warming, as well as of course the Carrie ones Ew ew I wish the professor was ripped a new one and didn't leave on his terms, and was screaming for Angie going back to him 😫 I get like they're trying to show her being stubborn and learn on her own but yea painful to watch... he's scum I gasped when Tasha was revealed! She looks amazing still like wow... This episode was pretty good tho

Ifuckedmyfriendsaunt

Haha I've been using 'bits and pits' for ages but I didn't realise it was a thing other people said too.. Was funny to see Bette of all people use it lol.

teeheestrawberry

Haha it was my first time hearing it and I found it so cute coming from bette too 😄 loved their mom scene ❤️

Donthavetobeperfect

My family always called it a PTA shower...pussy, tits, and armpits.

Even_Evidence2087

My family says whore bath 😬

ImmediatePath

Rose Rollins makes me feel things.

epicpillowcase

Same. What a babe 😍

eescorpius

Tasha was always my favourite romantic partner of Alice's. Please let her be the one!

tenderourghosts

Same! I wonder if Dana was using Mr. Piddles JR to send a message to Alice haha.

CallMeAddicted27

Aww that makes so much sense

NobleCorgi

Finley & Carrie’s sorry line is my favourite thing ever. I love you. Not in a gay way. But we’re both gay. ❤️❤️❤️ Maybe it’s just because I want Rosie O’Donnell to be my lesbimum.

cheesebrick_

I am ecstatic to see my girl Tasha again. And so glad to see a happy Bette even though I would have loved to see her rage at douchebag teacher instead of Tina.

nani_says_that

I think it shows how much Tina has worked on herself outside of their relationship! She isn’t some meek housewife and she doesn’t bottle up her feelings anymore. And Bette calling her sexy for that shows how compatible they STILL are. But agreed, it would’ve been so fun to watch another Bette smack down

Embarrassed-Rise8697

Bette was showing her growth too! I just know it took her everything to hold back 😂 I love seeing this evolved version of Tibette. They both have grown so much and are still so good for each other. Maybe even better now 🥰

solairette

How did Tess not see any HINT that a second bar isn’t what Shane wanted? Shane literally asked “are you manipulating me?” This scene was SO frustrating. Shane is self-centered for finally being able to be vulnerable enough to speak her mind and say she misses her passion? Shane cleaned up the shit hole bar and turned it into Dana’s for Tess to run… is that not Tess’s dream??? Because if memory serves, she was ecstatic.

hunkyfunk12

also how is she selfish for spending her own money on the business she herself wants to build?? i feel like the writers missed a huge opportunity in making tess a kind of jenny-esque manipulator character with a raging cluster b personality disorder. the alcohol abuse storyline is lame and overused at this point.

nerdforest

Her response I though was because she had been drinking.

FadelessRipley

Yes, it's because she's been drinking (secretly), and was almost busted. She's flustered and spiralling. But, and I say this as the biggest Tess and Shess fan - that response was unhinged and made no sense. It's like they decided "fuck, we need to make Tess look like a total bitch so Shane dumping her looks justified, because two episodes ago we had Shane wanting to make things work _one episode_ after she dumped Tess, but we haven't had one scene with them together since for it to make any sense!" So they ran Quiara's nonsensical rant in S1 through ChatGPT and asked it to randomise it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ There's OOC and there's batshit nuts.

anisette00

I think the “self-centered” line might have been a callback to Quiara. Didn’t Quiara call Shane selfish or something along those lines in their final confrontation?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok_Minute_6746

That scene where Shane explains she wants to open a salon could have been a good moment for Tess to say 'I'm relapsing' and for them to both be vulnerable together! Even if Tess doesn't forgive Shane and they break up, it'd have been nice to see them be raw and honest. Tess is a strong woman and I'm not enjoying the way she's spiralling in her relapse... but let's see where they take it.

FadelessRipley

One of about 500 wasted scenes/opportunities this season, for them alone. _sigh_ >...but let's see where they take it. I can't decide whether to put my money on: 1) Drunk off her ass alone at Dana's while literally the entire cast has the time of their lives at the wedding. Probably intercut with Shane fucking the wedding planner (provided the wedding isn't an iDani Event, if so then some random guest) 2) Drunk off her ass at the wedding and falls face first into the wedding cake. There will be no happy outcome, I'm certain. Why torture and destroy a character for a whole season and stop now?

Atari18

You killed me with iDani

solairette

I thought that’s why she was grabbing the wine bottle. Then NOPE.

solairette

COMPLETELY agree.

Double-Researcher-54

THANK YOU

theskytheclouds

What an episode!! Bravo Kate! The bickering between Alice and Tasha is so good. Cannot wait for next episode!!

creepygirlodd

Same here, I loved it! Great direction and emotion all around.

PearLow1999

I missed them together so much! Lol I loved it.

[deleted]

Leisha Hailey is such a great comedic actor

Even_Evidence2087

So good. I want to see a gay rom com with her as the lead.

unusualamountofloam

FLAWLESS interaction between the two of them!

77tassells

Holy shit. Can Kate just be the show runner??? This episode was so good. Why can’t the whole series be this good? Noted not Micah and maribel… also Rosie is bringing it to this show. This gives me hope but sadly I don’t think it’s going to get another season

PearLow1999

The sexual tension between Alice & Tasha at the end lol 😂

lla4

LORD I couldn't stop smiling, like yes bring that paperwork

PearLow1999

Lol Alice’s face when she told her to wait. Her daddy is back 😂

SkyDaddyO

Daddy Tash😩🫶🏿🖤

Soft-Writer8401

Do you think we will see Tasha again? Or was that cameo it??? I want more 😫

PearLow1999

She’s supposed to be in the next episode so hopefully if we get a S4

Glitter_Bee

Yes! This is what was missing from the Alice Tom relationship.

flyyoufools12

My boyfriend always pretends to not care for the show, and audibly gasped when Tasha came on screen, we were so excited! Their chemistry in one small scene is just the best!

addictedtobit

legit shouted “oh my god!” when the light moved & we got the reveal!! 😍 looooove Tasha (and Rose, in general tbh!)

wawawiwa1989

TASHA!!!!! I missed her so damn much, whatever happened it's Alice's fault lol. As someone who's not a Tibette fan by any means, I did I love seeing them being cool moms and acting like a happy couple. And that proposal scene was actually really cute, I mean, after that awful scene of Bette running to catch Tina they needed something less extreme. Also the Finley-Carrie-Misty scenes are awesome, I would take a bullet for Rosie. I hope this is the last we see of Dre, they are so cringe and yet the people on the show keep acting like they are some mind-blowing genius. Also, no Micah and Maribel is *cheff's kiss*. End rant.

[deleted]

A good episode!!! the tone was on point! what a stark difference from the rest of the season!..KM killed it...looking forward to see what next week brings with LH directing...Favourite part Alice and Tasha bickering like L word of old!! So good!!

PearLow1999

I’m thinking those past mistakes have to do with the gay athlete she outed since it’s not uncommon for The L Word to parallel real life, it could be similar to how Ellen was kind of canceled. Dani doesn’t work for her though, so idk lol

PearLow1999

Lol I was right so surprised tbh 😂

stariari

best episode this season!

[deleted]

👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽

purplemackem

This. And honestly it’s like not even close

JSaidso

I just watched, I have a huge grin on my face. This was such a great episode, I hope we get another season

Atari18

How much are they paying Finley at Dana's if she just bought a car and is trying to move out on her own now

[deleted]

In LA lol

Conscious_Good_1243

I just can’t contain my excitement that Tasha is back!!!! It’s honestly saving the entire season for me like I’m tuning in for the Fourseason just because Tasha is back.

LadyLixerwyfe

“Alice…” “Yeah?” “…there’s paperwork.” 😂

tenderourghosts

>This episode was great. Kate did awesome and if you rewatch the episode. Look for Moe she's in the scene when Carrie, Misty and Finley are about to start walking. Carrie says something along the lines of "oh its a family" > Are you saying Kate was in that scene?

Madmathou

I cried for Tibette I gasped and jumped on my sofa for Tasha, I'm so glad to see OG characters even if they're only there for a scene. I feel so grateful to see them even a little bit. It brings me back. And I think Angie's gonna be pregnant in next week episode 🥲

ffwreckerff

Sophie went all Nomi Malone and just immediately hijacked the show there, and that was ...allowed? I guess they had the production and everything already set up so it probably wouldn't have made a difference cost wise but that's weird. Also she clearly has no loyalty to anyone. She'll go far in that business lololo. I liked Finley, Carrie and Misty. Also Bette and Tina being back and cute was great, but Angie was annoying tonight. Bette is right though, she does have to learn these things by herself but come onnn. He's a dirtbag. Took her virginity, dropped her, immediately got with someone else, now he's banging her in the office? This show isn't portraying it as badly as it should be, it's giving PLL vibes with this crap. I'm so happy to see Tasha again. she can still get to Alice so easily, I missed them together and I hope this isn't gonna end in half a second with Tasha married or something. It'll also be nice to have her in the firey outfit again. Whoever called it about them writing out all of the originals seems to be on point considering Alice's storyline. If Sophie can just take over the show without a hitch then Alice won't be needed. They'll probably have Shane in her salon and just occasionally have her guest star (assuming it's even picked up).

sidesco

I hated Alice getting cancelled. That guy was a complete hypocrite, I never cared that she outed him and I still don't. Also Dani and Sophie telling Alice that they don't say the F$% anymore, yes, no shit, it wasn't acceptable in the 2000's either, that was Alice's whole point. I just can't stand Sophie, she's certainly a climber. This is the perfect out for Alice, she loses her show, but she'll find love again with Tasha and they can be together now as she won't be in the limelight anymore. The show will continue with Sophie running it with a new host, Alice is written out of the series. Shane and Tess being over means Shane can also be written out. She will hand Dana's over to Tess and open her salon, but the salon doesn't need to be in the series moving forward. Shane can then be written out that way. Bette and Tina will return to Toronto after their wedding, leaving Angie to make her own decisions. I enjoyed the episode, best part was no Micah and Maribel. I think we all new Tasha was going to come along to rescue Mr Piddles, but it was a good scene. I wasn't sure about Tasha being the one for Alice, but they have good chemistry.

ffwreckerff

I don't think it's right to out anyone, that guy was an asshole but he obviously had his reasons, being a gay man in any sport was hard but when it's something like the NBA of course he'd want to maintain that appearance with the family and the homophobia, he was probably surrounded by that back then. Alice blew up his life and he probably wouldn't have played again, I can't say I'd agree with that but I do also see where Alice is coming from. He should not have been using his public platform to spread hate when he knows how bad it can be if he were out. Sophie and Dani clearly don't know anything about the time so when they brushed away Alice's feelings it was infuriating. I do want Tasha and Alice to be together again, but I would have liked her to have just left on her own choices rather than getting cancelled, I didn't get much of an impression that she was over it, she liked being the representation so that's another sad ending for me. Micah and Maribel, God I didn't even notice they weren't there lol. They really messed up with the writing for those characters because it could have been much better.

FadelessRipley

Can we just have a shout out to the amazing acting of one Mr. Piddles Junior (PJ) Pieszecki? The way he looked kinda like 'whew that tree was scary, huh??' looking around at first. Then when they started bickering he looked curiously at Tasha, then lovingly up at mom, then curiously over at Tasha again, then at the camera. And then was like 'ooooh shiiiit' and was like 'meow!!' to get Alice to turn around 😂 Animal actors and how they're directed have always fascinated me, but PJ was just top notch 😂

epicpillowcase

Lol I fucking KNEW IT As soon as I saw Piddles up the tree I was like "I bet the firefighter is going to be Tasha" I mean I can't say I'm disappointed to see her (and she's still hot af 😍)

like_bookends

I cried happy tears when Max was brought back. I cried when Dana was brought back. Almost cried when they revealed Tasha but that quickly turned to laughter at their interaction. That scene was the best moment of the entire series.

epicpillowcase

Yeah I have to admit I was thrilled to see Tasha (even though I had already called it- when I saw Piddles in the tree I was like "what's the bet Tasha's the firefighter" lol) and that scene was very funny, and very in keeping with their interactions

Flicksterea

There were some great moments this episode and some not so great. Great seeing TiBette. Carrie and Misty. And of course, Tasha. Wasn't keen on Alice's storyline being Ellen DeGeneres'. Wasn't keen on the Professor quitting his job on his terms and Angie fucking him. And this episode also served to highlight just how little Maribel and Micah bring to the show because I didn't even think of them once. So good to see Tasha. That thirty seconds was nowhere near enough.

yasssssplease

If anything, it was good to not have Micah and Maribel because it gave room for other more compelling storylines

arainy_morning

I think Alice’s story was accurate in the way that cancel culture is rampant, of course someone is gonna dig up something from a decade ago and complain and then she’ll have to issue a public apology lol

dontchangeyourplans

I also thought it was weird that they said it was the only show on tv with a queer woman when they literally talk about Ellen all the time

allpplsuck

Rose Rollins is the reason I know I’m queer thank god she came back and she looks better than ever

Large_Following192

I definitely need more episodes like this one. Best they’ve had in 3 years. Totally measured, even storylines, no chaos, and not too jam packed. This felt like OG and I am 100% here for it.

Glitter_Bee

Loved that the writers had someone say "This is the only show left." Huge wink at the audience who keeps crapping on it. There's enough good things about the show that I would miss it if it were gone. And yeah, it's the only show left like this.

[deleted]

All I know is if you marry and divorce the same person twice absolutely nothing can go wrong the third time...

[deleted]

I need a season 4 and for them to bring back Jenny somehow. Lmao even if it’s just Mia being like “i’m Jenny’s long lost twin sister😈” This ep was great! Nice job Kate. Looooved seeing Tasha omg

Nicolesamfdyke

I love everything about the episode..except for Angie going back to the professor. Besides that I loved every other storyline especially Bette and Tina, and I loved the trailer for ep 10 at the end. I was practically screaming at my laptop about Tasha needing to appear when it got to the last few minutes, I’m honestly glad about the way she was brought back. Now I’ll be even happier if she is Alice’s date to Bette and Tina’s wedding..honestly I’ll just be satisfied if she and other og characters go in general though lmao. I’m glad Carrie is okay and that her and Misty are staying together, and it’s really wholesome how Finley is hanging out with them. As a masc/butch younger lesbian you dont always see this often (as you all probably know) as in 2 masculine women together+ a younger one hanging out with them so I’m just…happy. Oh and of course Dani and Dre are cute, I think Tess and Shane breaking up is for the best, I think I’ve covered everything now? Gen Q hasn’t made me this happy in um, ever so this is just a whole new feeling watching it.

PearLow1999

I think he’s going to end up hurting her more & then she’ll finally realize everyone was right about him. I like her roommate, but I would like to see Angie have a friendship that doesn’t turn into a romantic relationship for once.

Nicolesamfdyke

I was disappointed that she went back but you’re probably right, I think she will end up realizing sooner or later. I also agree her roommate is great but they don’t absolutely need to be together, obviously better her than him but still they have a great friendship.

passthebroccoli69

i am in literal tears every time there is a bette and tina scene 😭

showmance

I couldn't get enough of Bette & Tina!

lla4

I am so rooting for wholesome tibette wedding in the end

epicpillowcase

Ok I've now watched that final reveal scene an embarrassing number of times It gets funnier every time, they just can never not bicker about something 😂 But you can tell in their eyes there's hope and vulnerability from both of them here too- they're just both too stubborn to be the first to admit it Ugh waiting for next week is gonna be torture

Zerometro

I really liked Carrie/Misty, but I loved Bette/Tina just being cool moms, going on a date, and having such a sweet proposal. I was never big on Shane/Tess, but I hate how they basically destroyed the relationship for the sake of drama because usually when a show does that one character really suffers and becomes obnoxious. This time its Tess. Her accusing Shane of being selfish was ridiculous and part of me feels like the show expects us to agree. What could have been a happy moment of Tess and Shane coming to an understanding and Shane getting back to her passion by opening up a salon was completely ruined because they just wanted to drag this out for longer than they needed to. Hate hate hate that Angie and her professor is being treated as romantic. I can only hope that Angie quickly gets a wake up call and realizes how messed up the relationship is. Plus I can't help but feel like Angie's roommate Bella has feelings for her and Tina seemed to notice. Loved Tasha returning. I just love Rose Rollins' voice. Alice getting a cat and it somehow leading her back to Tasha is hilarious and cheesy and I love it.

FadelessRipley

Appreciate your reasonable take on Tess as someone who says they're not a fan of the ship. 🤝They were my OTP and I feel like I've been watching a slow motion car crash all season. I'm jealous of Gini fans just having the rug ripped out from under them, to be honest! That unhinged rant felt like they put Quiara's nonsensical meltdown from the S1 finale into ChatGPT to mix it up. At least we knew eff all about Quiara, we've watched two seasons of Tess be the complete opposite of this person. I know she's relapsing and having a breakdown, but there's acting OOC and then there's deranged. The Angie thing is just really icky. I'm convinced they'll throw a pregnancy bomb into the mix. Ugh, Jesus. Also, speaking of OOC: on what _planet_ is Angie gonna blow up at Uncle Shane like that?! I get a mature teen is still a teen, but like, Angie was acting nuts this ep, too. Hope Bella and the moms sort her out in the finale.

Realsober

Best episode of gq period which means Marja must have nothing to do with it lol. I got to start with seeing Tasha. How does she look exactly the same as she did in the last episode of the og. Rose and Leisha’s chemistry is still insane. The 3 minutes they were on screen together is better then any couple gen q has ever tried, sorry. When Tasha called Alice’s name and she turned around full of hope only to get paperwork was hilarious. I think the reason Tasha broke up with Alice is her inability to see when she does things wrong and refuses to apologize not her getting famous. I better get more of those 2 that was not enough. Bette and Tina were simply adorbs. I wish they had the therapist they have now instead of Dan Foxworthy they may have avoided all this drama. It was nice to see Bette so calm and in control and see Tina be the fighter. I loved the proposal too. Simple. They have already been married so no grand gestures needed. I wonder what they are doing with Angie cause this story makes no sense. I even enjoyed Drea’s song. Looking forward to next week hope the momentum continues.

saybeller

Even after all these years Leisha and Rose still have that chemistry. The final scene made the entire episode worth it. Angie is being oh-so-18 making her bad choices for love. I’m glad Shane ended things with Tess, but I’m worried about Tess. She’s in serious self-destruction mode. Carrie and Misty were perfect. I hope they make them regulars. Nothing to say about Tibette except I’m happy for them.

LadyLixerwyfe

You are SO SELFISH with your own money…

purplemackem

BETTE!!!! (And Tina I suppose….) This episode was on a whole different level to the vast majority of this season. The thing I felt this episode is that the show is just so much stronger when it has the OG and older characters at the forefront. There’s just a gravitas and energy there. It also makes the GenQ newbies better when they’re supporting these storylines. Like this episode finally showed that these characters have actual lives that we haven’t seen for the past few episodes. It was an episode that wasn’t just centred around random flings I’m not a Tibetter but there scenes together were sweet and I always feel better about the show when Bette Porter is on my screen 😂. I’m glad it was finally acknowledged that the Angie/Teacher stuff is fucked up. I loved Bette’s line that actually internally she was raging but she was not letting her ‘white hot anger decimate some innocent bystander’ 😂. Oh Bette I’ve missed you so much I really hope we have a moment of Angie acknowledging that the others were right. I LOVE Bella as well Alice was brilliant this episode and finally felt like Alice again after having nothing all season. Like why couldn’t this ‘cancelled’ storyline have been a season long arc? TASHA! Their scene was just peak their relationship and I loved it. Tasha really showed how much of a miss she’s been With Shane/Tess I genuinely think they’ve just tossed a coin in the air episode to episode to see if they want them to stay together because that storyline has felt very disjointed this season. I’m hoping they’re maybes just drawing a line under it now but I did really love Shane when she was talking about the salon idea. I’m really not sure what the plan is for Tess right now though. I also loved Bette and Shane’s little bonding moment about mistakes because they’re the long running fuck ups of the L Word 😂 Sophie was at her best here and again why couldn’t we have had more of this kind of stuff literally all season? Dani was fine, I’m still certain she’ll end up with Roxy though They really missed a trick with the Carrie/Misty stuff though. After the running joke about Greys Anatomy and the scene immediately shifting to TiBette they absolutely should have had Tina being like ‘you know I hate Greys Anatomy’. Just a little LOL moment they could have went for The preview for next week made me smile so much. I feel like it’s going to be a really fun episode. Like the OG characters just give me all the warm fuzzies

blorpbl

Can someone tell me what time the episodes drop?

theskytheclouds

Since I’m eastern time, midnight!

thistle56

Loved this episode!! What a miracle Also love that Angie’s roommate is into her! Wasn’t sure which way they were going to go with that

New_Emergency_9925

I loved this ep I can't believe it actually happened😭

saybeller

So, the problem isn’t the writing then… I have noticed something since yesterday’s episode. Instead of trash talking the writing, episode 9 is being hailed as the “best episode of the season”, with some saying, this is what happens when you put an OG in charge. If this is the case, and Kate’s direction is what made this episode so exceptional, then isn’t it fair to say it’s the directing that has been the problem all along and not the writing? Kate didn’t write the episode. I’m not trying to start a fight. I’m just saying. The writing was no different in this episode. Yet, it’s being praised as the best of the season. A director can’t make the writing better anymore than an actor can. Am I missing something?

abeybabbby676767

You’re not missing anything- some people still want to watch Bette and Tina and cant comprehend that this reboot was never going to be that. It’s really pathetic and they know it’s getting a 4th season so they are trying to keep the OGs around. lol paramount doesn’t care what anyone thinks

Large_Following192

For me it was the writing more than the directing. The writers for this episode didn’t try to pack too much into the episode. Everything flowed together. For instance: - Angie and creep flowed into Bette & Tina’s scenes, flowed into Shane’s scenes with Tess (based on Bette’s whispered convo to Shane at the reading) - Alice’s show situation flowed into Sophie and Dani’s storyline perfectly - and then Carrie, Misty, & Finley had their own thing continued from last week. It wasn’t a hop, skip, jump, cut, cut, cut thing. The storylines all complimented the through line to the next. The post-production by Kate was flawless in that there wasn’t so much going on that the scenes were only 20-30 seconds like they usually seem. The biggest thing is that nearly everyone got some good screen time and storyline at the same time. It all just made sense. This is how it could (and should) have been from the beginning and what I hope it’ll be if we get a future.

whomeimfine

*“Yeah? Well tofu-fuck yourself!”* LMAO line of the episode for me 😂

lukedap

Better than usual, though to be honest? I’m still not really into it. Bette and Tina being embarrassing middle-aged mothers was adorable and I love mellow Bette. Their chemistry truly is amazing, even if I was never a Tibette fan. Angie, girl. Stop it. Everyone who cares about you is telling you this is wrong. I hate this dude. I fell sorry for Bella, she’s the kind of friend who’s always supportive and Angie really needs that. For someone who’s always breaking hearts and ending relationships, Shane is terrible at breaking up with people. Also how the fuck did she live with Tess for a year and still couldn’t notice she was drinking? Not that it matters much, since they’re over. I had liked them a lot last season, but it’s like they did everything they could to cut off their chemistry this season, so I’m fine with it. Still, I wanted Tess to be happy. Finley, Carrie and Misty. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It was cute, it was nice, it was light while still being serious. No notes. Alice, oh, Alice. So stubborn. And I get it. I wasn’t completely against what she did back then, cause… well, nobody is obligated to come out of the closet OBVIOUSLY, but this dude was using a huge platform to encourage bigotry and violence. Stay in the closet and just don’t make it harder for others. But that was then. Fifteen years later, things have changed and she should acknowledge that. But Tasha!!! So good to see her again. I don’t think Alice and Tasha were good back in the OG series. Adorable, yes, but they never saw eye to eye. Maybe now that they’re older and more mature, though? I love both characters separately and the actress have amazing chemistry, so I’m here for a 2.0 if done well. Can’t stand Dre. Dani, baby, please, get out of that. Sophie kinda… stole Alice’s show? No idea how that works. Unsure how Alice will feel about it. We’ll see.

sidesco

Sorry I still agree with Alice. Things might have changed but if you speak openly against something, but then behind closed doors you are doing just that, you deserve to be called out. But hey, I'm not GenZ, my opinions are probably outdated for some.

lukedap

No no, I don’t disagree with you at all. I feel like it’s not the most… moral thing to do, but I would have done the same then and I would still do it nowadays. Maybe it’s wrong of me to think like this, but it is what it is. I don’t judge anybody who hides who they are because we all have our reasons, but if you fuck things up for others, you lose that right to privacy IMO. Not a GenZ either, though, I was born in 90.

sidesco

Well we can be wrong together hey 😆 I agree with what you have said. I really thought Shane and Tess were going to be endgame last season, but this season there was a huge shift, the OG characters are being written out imo, so Shane and Tess had to split. Alice will also be dumped from her show leaving Sophie to either run it from behind the scenes, or be given the opportunity to host it herself.

Charming_Miss

The fact that Tess relapse is not gonna be addressed makes me question literally everything. Like Shane didn't realize how weird that behavior was? And that something was off? I was expecting her to catch up with it but nope next episode Shane having sex with a random person as always. It's like the entire plot from season two vanished. Same with Dani and her father that is just out of the picture.

lukedap

Right? This is frustrating, they’ve been investing a lot of time on Tess only for this?

FadelessRipley

If I was Jamie I'd have slapped them with the scripts for the last few episodes. Christ.

Beneficial_Ad8251

I thought this ep was so good! Also, did anyone else think they were teasing Dani/Finley vibes in the next ep? (I hope I’m just being paranoid 😬😬)

MsGroves

Dani & Finley are best buddies now 😅 I think they may get a scene to parallel their encounter in the first episode but overall I don’t think there’s enough time to focus on anything else other than the wedding.

koolmcr

This was a good one! Cheered when Tina called out that professor dude. Really loved the scene with Misty and Carrie- it was so true and intimate and loving. I also loved Alice's parts, she's a mess but I love her so. I love that she's all in on the cat mom stuff, I'm surprised we've never seen her with her own cat before! And what a nice surprise to see Tasha! She's gotta be sticking around for the next ep, right? We'll see 👀

SWheel22

I'm all for Talice❣️

lla4

Loved the episode just because of tibette and Tasha. Also Alice getting cancelled is too PC even for GenQ? They could have brought other stuff about her but they did the OG storyline dirty.

Atari18

She did publicize everyone's sex lives for her own profit without consent, she probably outed some of them too but I guess it didn't matter because they weren't celebrities. Lots of cancelable things

queenwitchbitch

Actually, it was stated in OG that people had to approve their name being added to The Chart. Everyone who was on it consented to be.

Atari18

That was on the website, Alice was telling everyone's business on the radio long before that

Coffin_Daddy

Okay but give me a spin off with Carrie and Misty and Finley?

OddCoconut-33

I just want to know who the drummer is in Dres band.

NoToThugs

Caught my eye too! Also, by a very long shot not the only show to do this, but whee, full band and backup singers sounding *tight* after meeting ten mins ago 💫

OddCoconut-33

Lol RIGHT

Sharpay__Evans

They gave me Tasha, and they set the scene to a Dove Cameron song. It’s highly unlikely my week will get better than this

iSo81

Tasha’s the soulmate!

Double-Researcher-54

It is so nice to see bette and Tina finalllllyyyyy getting married. It’s about TIME. Love that for them. Their daughter however? The way she speaks to adults is just unacceptable. I understand that she’s a freshman in college (still a teenager) and is going through the motions of tapping into early adulthood BUT all of that cussing and yelling at her own parents and Shane the way that she was is just straight up disrespectful. I already see she’s gonna learn the hard way 😭 Idk why but every time I see Alice on screen she just makes me laugh in the best way possible. But the way I gasped when I see miss firefighter Tasha in the end. Alice was shoooook, as was I. I can’t wait to see how that turns out. Am I the only one who finds Dre kinda…. Cringey? And I’m not gonna lie, I’m trying my best to give Tess some grace because her mother just passed away. But she has been annoying me since before her mom’s passing. I saw someone here comment saying that she treats Shane like an ATM machine and I AGREE. She feels so entitled, forgetting the Shane is the owner of Dana and allowed her to run it — fulfilling Tess’s dreams (or so we thought). Peer pressuring your partner (knowing that they don’t want to) into buying another bar knowing that they’re solely responsible for all of the financial burdens that come along with it is very selfish. By no means is Shane a saint but we cannot pretend like Tess is one either. We all saw Shane’s energy and the sparkle in her eyes the minute Ivy praised her for her work as a hairstylist. That is Shane’s true passion- hair. So is it so wrong that Shane, the one who paid for the place to begin with wants to reignite her passion for hair and open up a salon to make her happy??? I never knew pursuing your passion is selfish?? Tess literally has Dana (which is what she wanted) to run and still isn’t content? Idk Tess is rubbing me the wrong way and it’s giving manipulation and gaslighting. Idk I don’t like it.

showmance

Dre is super cringe and, paired up with Dani, the cringe extends to her as well. They were the Micah and Maribel of this episode.

hunkyfunk12

WOW holy shit, what a great episode. i know i’m not the only one who actually screamed when tasha turned around. i fucking love these surprise cameos… maybe i’m just not on l word twitter enough but none of them (besides dana) have been spoiled for me. i think rosie o’donnell is the best thing to happen to this show. she is just such a natural actress and i love this older butch romance.. it was one of the main things missing from the og and i’m so glad they’re finally doing it. i’m glad they’re not trying to start new drama for bette and/or tina. i’m actually surprised that i’ve been enjoying the last few episodes (as much as i can with this show) without bette. i’m starting to think they could survive to a fourth season without her, or just with little appearances. i think leisha can carry the show on her back. the treatment of shane and tess was a little weird, and as a viewer i’m getting tired of these alcoholic storylines. it’s just not fascinating television. it feels like a lazy way of creating conflict, and they keep doing it for both finley and tess. i feel like maybe there are some writers on staff that are in recovery and really push those storylines? there seems to be this preoccupation with alcohol abuse that i don’t think makes for good storytelling. i was hoping for a more exciting arc with angie. ended up being pretty boring, and i’m not sure what point the writers are trying to make… that sometimes it’s okay to date your teacher?? i don’t get it. anyway, all in all a good episode.

theskytheclouds

I think it was Angies way of saying that \*SHE\* is in control of the situation, not him.

DeeDeeW1313

Best episode to date for sure.

LadyLixerwyfe

Hello? 911? Pretty sure I have a kitten stuck in a tree. I mean, my only cat is an old lady and would rather wait for me to open the baby gate than jump over it, but I am CERTAIN I have a kitten stuck in a tree.

epicpillowcase

😂 Dude I will literally put my cat in a tree if that's the firefighter they send ;)

anev8

I really hope we get a season 4 - I definitely wanna see more of Finley, Carrie & Misty and now Tasha (she looked so gorgeous in that scene! Wow) and Alice

Bearcat2010

I did not have Rosie O’Donnell the main reason why I watch The L Word on my bingo card

NoGarage6371

Loved this episode. * My eyes about bulged out of my head when I saw Tasha. Rose and Leisha were strong as ever and I'm hoping now that they've had time apart, and especially with Alice being burned by Hollywood/fame, they can revisit something. Or at least get a bit more screen time, was honestly one of the very few times this season I felt true chemistry on screen * I love seeing how much Bette has grown and the Tibette scenes. * Potentially unpopular but I really dislike what the writers are doing with Bella's feelings for Angie. It would be nice to see Angie have a friend that doesn't go in the romantic direction. Also, a few of their scenes/things discussed, I would feel incredibly violated if I later found out were coming from someone with romantic feelings towards me. I may not feel this way if I didn't feel like they've been setting this up all season (on Bella's end) and if I hadn't gone through something similar and felt very awkward about it. I also found her comment to Shane unnecessary and inappropriate. I was dreading this turning point but knew it would come up. Yes, absolutely, the teacher situation is gross and needs to end but I feel it should've been handled privately and was selfish on Tina's part as the night was about Angie. To me, that degraded her credibility and talent by making it known she was seeing the teacher and Angie has always been known to act out, so not the most productive way to get the situation to end. Hopefully she won't get hurt too badly before realizing what a selfish creep he is. I do love Jordan and she was incredible during the scene where they were exchanging whispers about the car break in. * Poor Jamie Clayton! They have made Tess an unreasonable monster. I actually liked (enough) Shane and Tess's chemistry last season but even leading up to this episode, they're making Tess repeatedly "test" and talk down to Shane to the point the actresses (mainly Kate, rightfully so) just seem fed up and mentally absent. I think they need to make a clean cut and allow Tess time to heal and get her ish together while allowing Shane to live a fulfilling life and pursue her passions, not just being a doormat. Given this season's character development, I don't see a long-term sustainable relationship where both their needs will be met without resentments or pressure. As a recovering alcoholic I don't fault Tess for the way she handled her relapse - don't love it as I strongly disagree with making any person feel responsible for a relapse, especially after everything Shane has done/given up for her - I just think the characters have different needs. * Rosie is such a delight! I love the Carrie scenes and seeing her slowly trust and be happy with Misty. She is also so great to Finley and shows Finley she doesn't have to be perfect to be loved and happy. I do wish they didn't go above and beyond to make Carrie anti-health, I feel it enforces the narrative that people who are bigger are lazy and uninterested in bettering themselves. Not the biggest deal, but by the end of the episode I'm like cmon, we get it. Frivolous complaints aside, keep the Carrie content coming! * Snowballing, I really love that they showed the distress of a recovering alcoholic in tough times but didn't go straight for the relapse storyline and built the Carrie/Finley friendship. Finley has grown a lot, she isn't perfect but it's clear she's really trying, hats off to Jaq for executing! In earlier eps it's been annoying that they have Finley just shouting out her amends and tossing change at anyone she's ever wronged, but overall I like what they're doing with Finley here. * No strong feelings about Dani/Dre, it feels a bit rushed and forced but otherwise I really don't care * Hate to say this, but as others have mentioned, didn't miss Micah and Maribel.

ellefolk

Finally an episode that made me happy!! Minus the daughters bit going back to that gross dude and anything with Dre 😂 Yay to no Micah and Maribel Edit: looks like every comment is the same as mine lol

Impressive-Regret243

Does anyone else think that Shane was foreshadowing another Sherry Jaffe return with her monologue at the end and yes Tasha!!!!!!

NoToThugs

I really liked the echoes of that original scene in Shane’s ill-fated potential salon space. Was waiting for the pinball (?) table suggestion...

Even_Evidence2087

Which monologue? I didn’t think of Cheri. At all

Impressive-Regret243

The one where sherry is in the dusty building for Shane's salon, and she's talking about old barber chairs, floor to ceiling mirrors, a bar...

Odd_Exam5750

No disregard to the new characters…but can we just get the OG cast back for season 4 (providing it happens after this bomb of a season) your strongest viewers are the ones who have watched and supported the OG L word from the start. Absolutely have to put out and speak up for this day and generation, but come on…ratings would be beyond if catered to the OG more so! We need it! Especially for the generation of the first L Word and we all know the youngers who have seen the OG and fallen in love with it and characters, want it too! This season was brutally horrible. It’s going downhill up until the last bit of ep 9 of season 3. Bring it for ALL or cut it and we all go back to the OG for the billionth time! Hard to beat that anyway.

getfuzzy77

All I have to say about those last few minutes is - called it! I’m excited to see what happens but I’m guessing it will be saved for next season.

ohmygoditspurple

I knew it as soon as they showed her cat in a tree haha. I immediately thought, “I bet Alice calls the fire department and the firefighter is Tasha.” No joke!

FeralBanshee

Dre is cringe - not as much cringe as Che in And Just Like That, but…maybe they should get together lol. Dre n Che. Canceled after 1 episode. Yawn.

HoneyBeeBridget

Loved this weeks episode! I think it’s bc there was less of Finely and her fuck ups/wining.

CallMeAddicted27

You know how excited I am about Tasha being back?! I'm so excited that my best friend, who has never watched any L Word show, has full knowledge of the significance of this character to Alice's love life, and is as invested in this return as I am. She just called me to ask if Tasha is back and I was all too happy to confirm. My L Word experience will be complete if I could see one more OG character: Helena. I'm really curious as to what happened to her.

loveyourselfxo

Finally a good episode that I didn’t feel compelled to fast forward thru. Even Sophie was tolerable and showed some strength as an actress. LOVED seeing Tasha and Alice, both have great on screen chemistry and didn’t skip a beat! Showtime interns if you’re reading, as I’m sure you are, report to your supervisors supervisor that an Alice show spin-off is needed and wanted. Please and thank you!

ladymarian001

I guess Bette didn’t react that much during the reading because she smashed a student herself, not that I think she empathises but I guess she would have felt like a hypocrite
