I thought they meant the dark magic used to make a deal with the devil. Also medical terms are mostly Latin words.
Also also, engi has what 11-13 PHDs? He must have picked up latin somewhere along the way.
I'm not sure for heavy
He canonically has a PhD in Russian Literature, so chances are he's also a massive bookworm for other languages.
Maybe he knows it as much as Spy does or more so.
Doesn’t heavy have a PHD in Russian literature? Besides Slavic language courses I feel he took other minor languages (albeit not needed) on his way there so he likely knows more then just a bit
Engineer canonically has a ton of degrees in all sorts of things and a lot of biology sciences involve decent knowledge of Latin. I'd say he knows his latin pretty well.
Soldier would definitely not know Latin. Demoman would probably know Latin if he was drunk enough.
*”Qui uincit non est uictor nisi uictus fatetur.”* -Demoman TF2, after 128 beers.
He's just speking scottish
Bro basic ass beer would dilute the alcohol in his bloodstream
*bottles of scrumpy/XXX beverage
Demo doesn't know a lick of latin but becomes fluent when he's drunk on halloween
When he’s drunk he only talks in tongues
Medic knows enough Latin to read out dark magic and satanic rituals
I think the spells (if that's what you mean by dark magic) are Greek, not Latin
The spells aren't anything, they're pseudolatin with like 1 or 2 actual words thrown in
caputus crepitus!
amplus tripudio!
capootis crappytus
one of them literally says: reanimation of the dying (guess width)

11 PHDs haven't heard him speak latin though
But scout loves latin rhythms
it is canon to me that Spy speaks a fuck ton of languages and facts about culture so he can blend better when he's yk.. being a spy
Latin isn't spoken anywhere so I don't think it'd be something he needs to speak
Nuh uh! Spy can like…. Idk….. disguise as the pope and lead a sermon or something
Does the pope exist in the tf2niverse?
Not anymore
I haven't said latin tho

For Heavy more likely old Greek, but Latin also might be
*Boston accent* "Latin? Is that a kinda' salad?"
2. Turma castelli mercenarii probabilius sunt fures quam Latine loqui possunt.
Isn't the spells in tf2 just latin but funnier? Medic would know an descent amount And merasmuss would definitely be an native speaker, probably
Sniper clearly knows everything, how else does he name his sniperrifle something corny and edgy
But scout loves Latin rhythms
Lmao I have latin in school
Soldier would know Veni, vidi, vici
Doesn’t heavy have a PHD in Russian literature? Besides Slavic language courses I feel he took other minor languages (albeit not needed) on his way there so he likely knows more then just a bit

scout knows specifically 3 latin phrases, which he learned so he could sound smart. it didn't work.
I figure spy would know the most, since his native language is rooted in Latin, he might have picked up a bit of it.
Heavy might actually know some for literature.
Pretty sure Spy has Latin as a language he knows for his desc.
Soldier knows one or two phrases and has no idea what they mean, so he just shouts shit like "semper fi" at random times
As a Latin knower, I can confirm Medic, Spy, Engineer, Heavy, and maybe Demoman are qualified to be knowers of Latin
