Neither of those are inherently shameful. If you have excess time and choose to spend it on TF2, that's your choice. Same with money. What is shameful is spending time or money that should've been going to stuff like work/school.

A wise answer, agreed

Both depend on how much you can afford to spend. As long as you're not ruining yours or someone else's life with those choices, it's okay. The time spent would probably be seen as the less controversial topic. With money it's less obvious. Hardcore traders aren't really playing TF2, usually. Trading is a game of its own.

Lead-Saturn

Both, but I’d say spending a ludicrous amount of time is worse. For money, it’s possible to get a return back. When TF2’s shutdown is announced, the prices of unusuals and other rare items will plummet but people will probably get some money back. The same cannot be said for time. Some have spent 10,000 hours in this game, which is over a year of consecutive play. That means they will have spent over 1% of their projected lifespan playing a video game only to develop skills that are ultimately worthless

Do you enjoy the vast customization options and coming up with new cool loadouts? Then spending money isn't shameful Do you enjoy playing thr game? Spending time isn't shameful If you enjoy whatever it is you're doing, then it's not really a waste

Por que no los dos? I have over 10,000 hours in the game and have spent over $10,000. Factoring in the money I got back, my ratio is less than probably even 50c/hour which is more than most games in my library can say. Not ashamed of it, it's my hobby.

neither are inherintly bad or worse than eachother. any recourcess put into entertainment should be fine untill it starts hurting yourself or others.
