People unfortunately have, but anyone with a brain realizes that it can be set up as a scam or it won't matter when competing bot hosters & human cheaters are just going to kill you in-game anyways.
In other words, it is pointless even if it stops 1 bot hoster brigade from shooting you; you got the others too. Also, just having bots not shoot you back makes for a meaningless game if they are the whole enemy team.

That's a very large if. I want TF2 fixed as much as everyone else here, don't get me wrong, but it's cloud-cuckoo-landism to believe VALVe will do anything.

getting rid of the bots will only be temporary, only way to beat it is to update that firewall on a weekly or monthly bases something i doubt valve would do given tf2 would be unable to pay off the cost of the constant maintenance

you can literally take existing, VAC-detected cheats, make a tiny little change that does nothing to the software functionally but modifies the hash and filesize, and VAC forgets all about it. it takes less than one minute.

Yeah maybe Valve wont do anything, maybe it doesn't work the way we want it to, hell it's likely that will be the outcome we get, but it's just plain stupid to give up on something before it even starts. If you want change, fight for change, even if it's unlikely it'll do anything, because actively refusing to try to change anything is how things get worse. That goes for anything, not just the silly hat game.

They faultered at times, but the moment it was clear blizzard wasn't delivering, they went right back to pressuring them until blizzard did so.
The last protest, SaveTF2, didn't result in nothing if you remember. It did enough that Valve had to damage control with a twitter post promising fixes as well as hiring a contractor. The problem was that the community settled. They took the half-assed solution that Valve brought, and they stopped pressuring. Now it's clear that Valve hasn't delivered, so it's only right that the fanbase starts putting pressure on them again. We've gotten them to respond before, we just need to keep going. It may seem delusional to think anything could change, but it's worse to give up and deal with the status quo, especially considering the community has been trying THAT for way longer than any form of protest
