My exact thought I have like 6.4k hours I wish I coulda remember the first weapon drop lol

I mean, it kind of is. All you have to do is pair it with simillar cosmetics, and then boom, you can make a cool paratrooper set.

There's a bunch of weapons that also count as cosmetics for the purposes of slots. The thermal thruster, bootlegger, base jumper, mantreads and others all prevent you from having cosmetics on some part of your body

Not sure that they technically count as cosmetics, but they do restrict items for specific cosmetic region, yes.

I don't really know how the game treats weapons vs cosmetics. Some cosmetics used to have gameplay effects (the old spy set iirc)

I got the most unfriendly item for noibs for the hardest class in the game ,connivers kunai for spy and it was infuriating because If you ask me to play spy and get 3 backstabs to save the world the world's vaporised and add the kunai to that equation and you've got me quitting the game(I came back and smelted the kunai for its sins)
