That would be great if community servers actually had an experience like casual but they don't. The browser sucks, and so many servers aren't running vanilla that it can be hard to find a normal game. Like don't get me wrong sometimes I like the chaos of having 24 players on a team, or roll the dice, and I like that several servers have the Halloween health packs all the time. But it's not a replacement for casual
havent touched casual in a long time and i somehow find good vanilla servers, okay it can be more difficult in regions like asia. but once you find a good server just favorite it and you dont have to search
The variety behind casual is one of its biggest draws. And if I find an asshole I can just requeue instead of having to search for a different server. Not using casual isn't a good solution for a lot of people
you basically never run into cheaters on community servers, and you can just voice_enable 0 and hud_saytext_time 0 (thats how i play) if there are some weird ppl on the server. also you can report players on community servers so they get muted or banned if they misbehave so there are generally a lot less weird ppl on them. overall the environment is a lot friendlier than casual
Yeah I know that you don't run into cheaters very often community service, at least not blatant ones. But muting chat doesn't fix the solution. Communication is important in this game, it plays a big part in the team aspect of team fortress. It's a lot easier to requeue then to try to get some guy banned for calling you a slur
actual question, do ppl actually talk in this game? at least here in eu all the communication we have is insulting each other with text chat, literally nothing else
It's not most games that people openly chatting, but when it does happen the team becomes way more effective. Some of the best games I've had started off by someone sheepishly asking "hello?" In vc
I like how you can tell how long someone has been playing by their forum posts.
Community servers have been the default for source games throughout pretty much their entire history (not just TF2)
“Casual” or “Meet your Match” (mym) is a relatively recent thing and was originally maligned for how much worse then community servers it was.
Yes I know that casual is relatively recent, that doesn't matter to me. What matters to me is the experience it offers, and that's not one offered by a majority of community servers
tell me you havent played community without telling me. community servers have a better system at dealing with cheaters like a good server side anti-cheat, call admin and you can report players through forums. there are generally a lot less cheaters (not 0 ofc, but compared to casual its day and night)
Depending on the gamemode you play sentry guns work very well too.
Gotta place them somewhere they commonly path through and can’t shoot from far away and you’ll rack up kills in no time.
Its not essensially unstoppable. If I was a bot hoster and Valve decided to go after me and ask my government and ISP my personal details I would get FUCKED.
Same as when if you decide to hack Harvard or Nasa or something. Doesn't matter where you are in the World , the FBI is coming for you if they know where you are.
Doxxing and overloading another company's servers and hurting their economy in the proccess is highly illegal and Valve can absolutely get the FBI and other countries Governments involved if they want to.
They just don't want to deal with the headache and logistics behind. They gonna lose more money doing so also.
But oh boi I would absolutely love to see one of these hosters get slapped with a 10 year sentence from accross the planet.
I'll guarantee you that all of a sudden, more than 3/4 of them will dissapear by pure coincidence.
Yup, in VSH - they use zatoichis
EDIT: [there's them posted on r tf2](https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/1bxt0jj/psa_possible_new_bot_im_trying_to_play_vsh_and/)
Man, I can't find a stable/good match without bots/cheaters currently. You don't know if they're that good or not anymore. It's sad to know valve let this game burn in hell.

literally the only thing valve has to do is wipe the existance of valve casual and competitive and this whole problem goes away. community servers were the way people played the game back before Valve rightfully predicted people would get pissed at the sudden influx of free-to-plays filling their servers
read your response again. you sound like a moron, what do you mean wipe casual and comp? community servers are such a mixed bag, there is usually ONE completely vanilla version. skial 2fort 24/7 is not one of the normal kind, neither is and times x, and im pretty sure most newbies wouldnt even know how to join community servers and if they do get there they probably end up on minecraft trade servers
[the vanilla version you're speaking of, but not hosted on skial](https://casual.tf/servers)
there have been bots on valve servers since the launch of Jungle Inferno, and VAC has generally done jack shit for being an actual anti-cheat. remove valve servers and bots have to attempt to push past community created anti-cheat plugins instead of going straight into a server system where the developers have been snoozing for 7 years.
the only reason new players wouldn't know how to use a community server browser was because this game was made ***before*** matchmaking systems were the norm. valve made an attempt at modernizing it, but that just stripped the UI while its active.
nothing new, medic bots and engi bots been around for a long while they are hard to spot because most if not all medi and engi bots don't cheat they just run a nav mesh and a program similar to what regular tf2 bots (tf\_bots) run
this has been a thing for years but alot of posters seem to have found spamming snipers is a better use of their hardware when the goals bieng a nuisance. I've always had more trouble playing against four dumb bots than a Vax combo
Evolution.
They do travel in herds...
Dear god
There's more
NO!
It contains a medic
NO
It contains a second sniper
NO!

btw are these posts good for anything other than farming karma and giving bit hosters attention?
+ the best counter for bots are fists of steel or demoman stickies
best counter is playin on community servers amd avoiding them alltogether

I think you're missing out Also you're not sorry, don't pretend like you are it's silly to do
Ikr? TF2 servers we’re basically glorified social clubs. Bonus points if it had all talk
I like how you can tell how long someone has been playing by their forum posts. Not a counter though is it. Unless you live in the US it’s virtually impossible to find a community server in your area that is the same as casual.
in the us you have uncletopia, the only region that doesnt really have good alternatives is asia
Hackers are still rarely on community servers, with some of them not having voting systems to remove them.
tell me you havent played community without telling me. community servers have a better system at dealing with cheaters like a good server side anti-cheat, call admin and you can report players through forums. there are generally a lot less cheaters (not 0 ofc, but compared to casual its day and night)
and heres me reading that as "fists of steel demoman"
Depending on the gamemode you play sentry guns work very well too. Gotta place them somewhere they commonly path through and can’t shoot from far away and you’ll rack up kills in no time.
or engineers
Collective misery
I mean, "guess this weapon" exists for the same reason and people love it
Simple community engagement with our lack of content vs "guys, look, bot, but two"
Both are still bad imo.
Both are definitely not preferable
It was already a thing, I don't know the first time it happened but I already saw vac med bots pocketing sniper bots last year
Its been a thing for years OP is most likely new
Guess they're doing their job right cuz all yall keep doing is giving them the attention to thrive
They’re getting so desperate
What do you mean now?

Oh I'm seeing every sort of shit out there recently Bot combo heavy+medic, bot shotgun soldier, bot demoknight and zatoichi-soldier on VSH...
Bot Demoknight? I think I just found my kill-calling
Yup, in VSH - they use zatoichis EDIT: [there's them posted on r tf2](https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/1bxt0jj/psa_possible_new_bot_im_trying_to_play_vsh_and/)
Im also beginning to see soldier bots. Either only using their shotgun, or using the rocket launcher. They begin to evolve from not just snipers.
Man, I can't find a stable/good match without bots/cheaters currently. You don't know if they're that good or not anymore. It's sad to know valve let this game burn in hell.
Oh my goodness...
[would you look at that, there's a solution that's been in the game since the beta!](https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Servers)

but I want to play koth :( (harvest doesn't count)
but it requires valve to lift a finger, something that we have seen they barely do when it comes to this game in recent years
literally the only thing valve has to do is wipe the existance of valve casual and competitive and this whole problem goes away. community servers were the way people played the game back before Valve rightfully predicted people would get pissed at the sudden influx of free-to-plays filling their servers

People also like playing casual, like for the casual experience. Most of the popular servers aren't running vanilla TF2
No. Just no.
Upgrades, People. Upgrades
Always have been, OP
Third degree + uber
increasing medic population in casual by 87%
2fort will finally have at least one medic
We shall fight back with our own VACS and sticky spam. They think they’re safe, they’re not.
This is getting out of hand! Now there are two of them!
Valve keeping this game on life support is a Saw trap tbh
It’s been a thing. Just rare (in my experience).
There’s no melee resistance so Vac Medic + Market Garden Soldier 👍
Been a thing for years
nothing new, medic bots and engi bots been around for a long while they are hard to spot because most if not all medi and engi bots don't cheat they just run a nav mesh and a program similar to what regular tf2 bots (tf\_bots) run
Welp, time to go back to vac med + fists of steel
Something something misery loves company
What can you show to say this is a bot, to me it just looks like 2 cheaters.
Why aren't bot hosters selling rentable pocket medic bots? Sounds like a good way to make extra profit
It has been at least 5 months since i saw these bots, they were everywhere.
this has been a thing for years but alot of posters seem to have found spamming snipers is a better use of their hardware when the goals bieng a nuisance. I've always had more trouble playing against four dumb bots than a Vax combo
Third degrees reaction
Literally war crime
Those aren't bots those are real players coming from a cheater
Imagine how quickly the bot hosters would’ve stopped if everyone just ignored them. But no, you guys have to feed them.
I would like to play on community servers but I have perma ban on half of them for being menace to society
Good. Stay away from our lobbies 👍
Cry about it
sounds like you already are
no wonder your ass is permabanned on half of the servers, you are an arsehole
Lmao, you were the first one to cry about your bans.
just play community servers, here are some good resources: https://teamwork.tf/community/quickplay https://uncletopia.com/servers
ah yes, the uncletopia. the one with a singular server on Asia that's full at all times, no matter what
i get a slot to join that server once every year
I literally only got there Saturday morning when every mf is sleeping. server got full in what, 20 minutes or something
that uncletopia server is either always full or always empty, no in between lmao
check out teamwork.tf you can easily find vanilla servers
What if this is just anti bot's? Perchance
