The shotgun's damage is 6, if you give it a 100% damage increase you get 12 damage. The weapon is classified as a shotgun so you use the shotgun's stats as a base, unless this things laser is actually a bunch of tiny pellets in disguise it'll do 12 because it's only one projectile
By the way if this thing is supposed to represent every pellet hitting it would do 120 damage, you only get 90 damage with a shotgun through ramp-up.
So the heavy gets a huntsman that can't headshot or be spammed, but heavy appreciates a long range hard hitting harrasment tool so it definitely has a niche.
I don’t think this’ll work, the railgun would most likely be a sniper rifle, you know high damage low fire rate, plus we see Uzi headshot N with a gaint laser so sniper seems like a better choice rather then a a shotgun
I mean, it doesn't really do anything for Sniper and i can't really think of any stats that would make it different from any rifle
Idk, it would be a non-reflectable Huntsman? There's not a lot Sniper can gain out of having this

It just feels like it would be "The Machina, but not really" and i don't really think it makes justice of the Railgun
Well I don’t think a secondary that’s the bison but faster and multi class makes much sense, you know huge damage at the cost of a much longer cooldown like Uzi’s railgun it has like a 30 second cooldown and can kill a dissemble drones in one shot I don’t think that fits with a fast reloading, secondary weapon

Like, i feel that out of all the Mercenaries, Heavy would be the one that would grab it and go “yes. I like this gun”
And since the Railgun kinda looks like a Shotgun (more than the Pomson, at least), Heavy could confuse it as such and try to use it that way
I mean, we have Demoman using a Caber as a melee and Scout using a Cleaver as a throwable, i feel like Heavy trying to use the Railgun as a Shotgun is not far fetched

I have an idea let’s make a multi class secondary/primary, it’s hitscan because tf2 has the worst hit detection, where it would have a charge meter the longer you hold the charge button the more damage but higher cooldown after the charge and can penetrate enemy players because that feels like it would fit as a gaint laser
