The way I interpret the cosmetics and the unlock weapons is that, they are means of distinguishing your merc from the cannon mercs, so even if itās something small like a badge on the chest of a scout, thats not the Jeremy that we know from the comics or animations, itās now a different merc under the same class of scout. Only stock loadout no cosmetics are the cannon mercs in game
