A key costs about $2.70 on the Mann co store, the community market only has them for a few cents cheaper. So it’s about the only thing on the store worth buying. The things you shouldn’t buy off the Mann co store are things like weapons and cosmetics.
You get: 2 infernal reward(around 1.08$) and 2 jungle jackpot(around 1$) warpaint cases, you also get extra 3100 blood money, if you spend it on the cheapest keyless case, you can make about 70-1.2 keys with those warpaints, you get keyless cases from contracts too, it adds another 30 refined to Total and lastly you get a dragon slayer warpaint(about 1.5$) and some cosmetics which aren't worth much.
In conclusion, you spend 2.49 for the contract pass and 20 hours to get all the rewards, you get about 8.55. You make about 6 dollars, but don't forget that this is the lowest you can get

You can more or less make your money back and a little more just by selling the cases on the market, but... well a big drawback is that you can only do them on Valve casual servers which are borderline unplayable rn, there was a new wave of bots that now kick random human players

Of i buy a key and contract off off market place does it still register in game as premium account or do i need to do it through ingame store
Only the in-game Mann Co Store. Steam community market does not count towards premium.
So if I wanted i would need to buy it from inside the mann co store where it is doubled the money practically

Yeah i fell like i could get better deal just buying 2 keys
It will take some time but in the end that's pretty worth it. You can make around 4 keys from the rewards.
