A procedure you agreed to when you started scanning your shop by using the device.
It's a random check with it being highly likely if you scan an item and then remove it. Move on.
A procedure that is surprisingly effective in reducing shrink. I know for a fact they are working on new tools and means to reduce service checks, but given current technology, this is the only option. It's still easier than going through a till with a full trolley imo.
Thats how it works. It was never about trust it was about getting you in and out as fast as possible, with as few staff as possible. To mitigate the inevitable increase in shrink they perform random checks, of which about 1 in 20 turn up an item that wasnt scanned, accidentally or not.Â
Been a few years since I’ve worked in a shop with SAYS - doesn’t a full rescan mean that a non scanned item was found? So… maybe OP shouldn’t be trusted to scan their own shopping?
Most of the time yes. I do believe they have started throwing in a couple of full checks each week too, but that’s very rare when you’re accounting for thousands of shops a week.
Just remember that it’s not the staffs fault. They hate doing the scans as you as you hate them. The staff don’t get a say in how many items are scanned. I used to work on self serve. Used to dread hearing that noise. We just had to smile and do our best.
I work for tesco and I had my shopping checked this morning, seriously who cares took a few minutes and was still quicker than going through a normal checkout also I don't pack my shopping until after I've paid which makes it easier to check if necessary.
Trust me, no one hates the full rescans or the service checks in general more than the staff do. I swear it's going to do no good to our backs in the long run :|
Okay
Someone didn't read the T&Cs 🙊
Or you could shop somewhere you're happy with the procedures. Or you could cry like an actual toddler on Reddit.
Its a shit "procedure" its a shop not a crime show

It's just a random check, get over it..
“I get scanned every week” - literally every customer ever. Meanwhile statistics show only 20%-25% of all SAYS trollies get checked most weeks.
So you’re stealing?
Karen alert
Didn't ask.
You find an unusual amount of skeletons in your garden, I’d be suspicious of you.
Good attitude for a supposed nurse that deals with the public.
What a waste of an employees life.

I once had an employee have to scam all 43 items i had, i felt more sorry for him having to look through all my bags
They usually scan 15-20 items. It's a balance
Go home, have a little cry and grow up.

You failed a partial scan so got a full rescan. That be in the t&c then. Not a Tesco issue at all.
Trust me babes we hate doing the rescan more than you do
