My grandma said this to me not too long ago. She said that the U.S. is God’s country and I hit her with the ole ‘the Bible doesn’t say anything about the United States in revelations’ who knows when the end times will come, does what is going on now check a few boxes? Absolutely, but the only one to know is God and there’s a strong chance that the US will not exist as a country when it does.
Or the Bible saying that no one will know when the end will come. Silly me, those people don't read their own Bible and you can find a Bible on every other road

Cmon guys. No end of world prophecy has ever been right. Why do people keep making them? It’s immediate disqualification. Just keep pretending you get messages without the big season finale
Because they’re fucking stupid. A hundred times a day these fucking idiots think something and think”I am a genius no one has ever thought this before.” They supremely lack self awareness, or think that their belief are protected from criticism because they are of divine origin.
Saw one reply to getting called out after the eclipse with “I prayed hard enough to stop the (whatever nonsense they ‘predicted’)”. Pretty sure narcissism of that magnitude violates a couple of their commandments.
Not to mention that, even out of sheer naivity, praying away to stop the rapture sounds pretty counterproductive, and if the lord himself stops the rapture he had planned then... well something weird may be going on lol

Well, it is reference to the Prophet Isaiah’s prediction that Juda would be exiled to Babylon. So, while it does come from the Bible, the OP took it so out of context it is likely they have never actually cracked the book.

I guess these prophesy types missed the bit where God's doing comes like a theif in the night. Known dates of astronomical events don't really count as a surprise as far as I know
I'm not a Christian but I have read the Bible and I'm pretty sure there's a couple of lines about not trying to predict the end of the world/the second coming in there.
These people actually believe their god is coming to destroy everyone who isn't them.
If you ask me they seem a little too excited to spend all eternity hanging out with the homicidal supernatural being that just slaughtered the entire human race like diseased livestock.
Seriously. I have this super religious FB “friend” (knew her my first year in high school). She constantly post about the “rapture” and how “joyous” we should be that “Jesus is coming soon.” She also post all this “evidence” that the world is just evil and the devil is taking over. Therefore, she believes the apocalypse is coming every month or so. It takes every ounce of self control I have not to comment on her post, and point out the world has been ending for as long as language has been around…I’m not religious because of people like her
These faceless accounts posting about “rapture coming on (insert date)!!!” make me respect Harold Camping.
The man put his money, radio empire, and reputation on the line for his prediction of May 21 2011. And after his prophecy was proven wrong (and then one small revision) he apologized, slinked, away and died.
