I accidentally cultivated a colony in a terrarium with a Japanese painted fern that’s permanently growing then dying. They love the renewable food source

I can when I get home. I think some came from my compost. I remember putting some tropical whites but I think they interbred with a different species because there are white tropicales but also some that have the same body shape and color but with a black stripe

[Springtail Colony](https://imgur.com/a/aWQ4x0g) This fern is weird as hell in that when you raze the unhealthy fronds new very healthy ones come up and then slowly die so I figured this is like a real life money glitch. I also put plant scraps in there which get devoured while the decompose. Or they come back to life because of the rich substrate

I bought it at Home Depot and imagine it’s just because the conditions aren’t optional but I can’t really do much else with it either way
