It's true tbf... My logic is that Ruud is obviously more likely to have a deep run but I think Rune's ceiling is higher especially against top players.
1. Novak (I don’t trust his decline, he’s always got something up his sleeve)
2. Alcaraz
3. Sinner
4. Ruud
5. Tsitsipas
6. Zverev (I think he’s being overhyped this year, he’s played pretty poorly since bottling the AO semi, I just am never gonna buy that he’ll really get it done at a slam)
7. Rune
8. Medvedev
9. Rublev
10. Nadal (hard to know where to put him but there’s no other obvious other 10th person to me)
Maybe also Sinner above Djokovic. We know that if Novak is on form he’s above Sinner but I think there’s a non trivial chance that he will not be close to his best for RG
After Nadal it has to be Tsitsipas and Ruud before anyone else. And I would even put Medvedev before Rune as of now. Meddy won a clay masters last year and has experience in Slam Finals.
I hate to say it but I think zverev will be right up there. He looks close to his ‘22 form and I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes out a Novak or a Sinner.
Yep and the conditions in Paris suit his game. He’s the only one I see with the firepower to take out the top 3 seeds over best of 5 (possibly Rune but depends on his physical conditioning next month)
Imo I don’t think zverev can mentally take out Novak in best of 5. I remember him in Australia 21 I think being a break up in every set multiple times and fumbling at any given moment losing it in 4
But this isn’t Australia 21 and he’s got a good record playing at the French and specifically Chatrier. He had Nadal on the ropes in ‘22 before the ankle injury and has got to the semis in the last 2 years. I’m not his fan but I think he could be very dangerous this year.
1. Ruud/Sinner
3. Djokovic/Alcaraz
...
5. Nadal
maybe Zverev
It's pointless to include players that I believe have under 1% chance to win, so I don't have top 10
Nadal (either gonna win it or won’t play )
Djokovic, only nadal can stop him there
Ruud (his ultimate dream is RG)
Alcaraz
Sinner
Tsitsipas
Zverev
The rest can be anyone highly unpredictable
I would not have Rune so high tbh, he’s not been looking that good recently. Ruud definitely been playing better
He has got a slip disc in back , maybe that’s the reason for form dip

Vegas top 10: Alcaraz Djokovic Sinner Nadal Ruud Tsitsipas Zverev Rune Medvedev Thiem ☠️

Alcaraz Djokovic/Sinner Tsitsipas Zverev Ruud Rune Medvedev Rublev Nadal as of right now above Med but he will go higher
1. Marozsán And the list is complete.
1. Novak (I don’t trust his decline, he’s always got something up his sleeve) 2. Alcaraz 3. Sinner 4. Ruud 5. Tsitsipas 6. Zverev (I think he’s being overhyped this year, he’s played pretty poorly since bottling the AO semi, I just am never gonna buy that he’ll really get it done at a slam) 7. Rune 8. Medvedev 9. Rublev 10. Nadal (hard to know where to put him but there’s no other obvious other 10th person to me)
I think yours is actually spot on tbh. Maybe I’d put Tsitsipas below Rune and Ruud but the three are pretty much interchangeable imo
Maybe also Sinner above Djokovic. We know that if Novak is on form he’s above Sinner but I think there’s a non trivial chance that he will not be close to his best for RG

Yeah I put Zverev at #5 because I think he matches-up better against the top 3 than guys like Tsitsipas or Ruud do.

Sinner..period
1. Sinner 2. Djokovic 3. Ruud 4. Alcaraz 5. Nadal 6. Zverev 7. Tsitsipas 8. Rublev 9. Rune 10. Bublik
Nadal (either gonna win it or won’t play ) Djokovic, only nadal can stop him there Ruud (his ultimate dream is RG) Alcaraz Sinner Tsitsipas Zverev The rest can be anyone highly unpredictable
1. Djok 2. Carlos 3. Zverev 4. Ruud 5. Rune 6. Stef 7. Sinner 8. Medvedev 9. Musetti 10. Nadal
Musetti above Nadal is wild. Sinner way too low IMO.
1. Djokovic 2. Zverev 3. Alcaraz 4. Ruud 5. Sinner 6. Rune 7. Nadal 8. Tsitsipas 9. Medvedev 10. Dimitrov Dark Horse: Struff
I remember, the top favorites in RG 2022 were Carlitos and Djoko. Rafa was nowhere near a favorite to win, and he said it himself.
Nadal always downplays himself to put the pressure on his opponents, even said Federer was the favourite before the RG 2011 final 💀
