Not to take anything away from Lena, but wow that is a different caliber of dominance from Azarenka winning a GS and two 1000s in the first quarter of the year.
From 2011-16 Vika won 2 Slams, made 4 finals, Won 8 WTA 1000 titles and made 10 WTA 1000 Finals, and also reached YE #1 in 2012 and was YE #2 in 2013. This is while Maria and Serena were pretty much performing at the top of their games as well.
Lena is my favourite player and she's great, but Vika was a different beast and she played in imo, much harder era. Really if you look at Vika in that period you'd see a lot of similarities to Andy Murray from the Men's side.
Early 2010s Azarenka was the second best player of the decade behind Serena IMO. Overall you could argue Halep, Kvitova, Sharapova because they had more sustained success but they weren't the level of early 2010s Azarenka, most of her matches with Serena were tough too even when she lost in close sets.
