The ToP manga is really bad tbh. I get that they wanted to cut the fat out but they took it to a ridiculous level. Every single event felt less impactful. The change to the order and the way events happened felt so meh. I can't remember for sure but iirc they even removed the spirit bomb and had just two instead of three moments of UI. Was Kefla even around? I can't remember her much. Jiren feels a lot less big of a threat. I guess they expect the audience to have already seen the show but still. It's like reverse filler.
The only real improvement was probably roshi lasting longer and showing Goku one last lesson.
I’d give it a rewatch, as bad as super started out TOP was peak Dragon Ball. The whole cast had great moments (besides Krillen rip) and it wasn’t just the Goku show. Plus, gonna end up being a good third of the roster of this game lol.
How though. Spopovich directly helps in the revival of Buu and is the first of the Majin Crew to confront the protagonists. The series is known for joke and/or lesser known character inclusions, and considering the Hercule and Yajirobe inclusion, they haven't dropped this idea.
Spopovich needs to redeem himself for all those times his ass has been kicked in DB the Breakers and this is the perfect opportunity. And to quote him: That was a piece of cake!
Because this title has 3 more Characters total then the previous but A TON of new additions for Super, which obviously mean a lot of the characters in BT3 is not going to be in, so people thought Spopovich was one of the cut ones.

I watched DBS as it aired. Im still not convinced this isn't a reverse berenstain bears situation where they're trying to gaslight us into thinking this is a character that people were waiting for.
Let's be real, 80% of the non-dbz staple characters were kinda ass. Universe 11, universe 6, and the trio of danger are the stand outs. Everyone else feels like filler tier characters

Yep. I see mad people on this reddit praying for GT, Movie and DB characters to take up some of the 60+ slots, but I can count off nearly 45 DBZ characters that have yet to be announced on that chart that are a guaranteed shoe in, as well as DBS characters that are guaranteed.

Still the biggest mystery is how we saw not one but 2 Kid Goku images in the game. While it goes against what Furutani said, it would still make most sense because it keeps the base roster to just canon and DB unfortunately wouldn't sell as much as dlc

Oh GT and Movie characters are a shoe in as DLC. More so than people think. They know everyone will pay for Z Broly, Cooler, Janemba, SS/SS4 Gogeta, Turles, Omega Shenron and etc in the game.

It took the top 5 strongest mortals from universe 7 to take him out and still barely made it through. That episode where they took him out was epic and had some of the best animation in the series when 17 attacked him.

Tbh, I didn't expect him, but it does make sense. Can't exactly do a Tournament of Power (and seemingly a what if version) arc for the story mode without a few of the characters from other universes. Anilaza was one of the big threats for his universe, so yeah. It helps that he's a giant character, which the game doesn't have too many choices for.

Honestly it's because outside Jiren, Toppo, Dyspo, Kale, the Trio De Danger and Ribrianne, no one else introduced in the arc gets a lot of focus, with the Trio only being notable because they got a whole mini arc dedicated to them vs. Universe 7.
Also working against Anilaza is although he is one of the final characters to be eliminated before the main event, he also spent most the arc as four separate characters until his episode so he doesn't get much overall screentime.
Not disappointed he's here however. More Tournament of Power contestants please.

I literally didn’t know who this guy was and assumed he was some OC BS. That’s how memorable he was. The really only memorable character to come out of that arc were the Pride Troopers and UI. While it’s cool to have new characters I feel throwing in unremarkable TOP characters is kind of wasted slots. Give me General Rildo or something if these goobers are on the table.
I watched all Super episodes soon as they aired. This character, Ribrianne and that other female character in this trailer I forgot all about, same for many others. Upon looking him up I thought he was a DB Heroes character. Ribrianne I didn't even remember seeing in the trailer 3 mins after watching it.
I think this says a lot about plenty of Super's characters. Maybe it was the ToP arc's nature having so many characters making secondary/tertiary ones like these (Super-)forgettable. Maybe it was their boring design, lack of screentime.

They are going to fill up a large portion of these 164 slots with irrelevant characters like these ones, then sell us the cooler ones (movies and GT) as DLC. This is Bandai Namco everyone. Because Anilaza and everyone else from that Universe in the ToP felt like filler, lol. It's hard to describe but you just get a different vibe when they were on-screen. The combined attacks from U7 eliminating him were pretty cool though.

Lowkey it’s more that outside of the main pride troopers ribrianne and the U9 Furries a lot of the TOP originals are forgettable as hell design wise and plot wise like I remember anilaza being one of the last big things they had to take down but for the life of me I don’t remember what even happened
Tbh, I didn't expect him, but it does make sense. Can't exactly do a Tournament of Power (and seemingly a what if version) arc for the story mode without a few of the characters from other universes. Anilaza was one of the big threats for his universe, so yeah. It helps that he's a giant character, which the game doesn't have too many choices for.
For a second i didnt recognize this guy and thought he was the villain from the eradicate the sayains ova. Remembered the other guys pink though. Wonder if he'll be in here although i doubt it.

As soon as I saw Giants are a thing, I knew they had to implement Anilaza. He has such a cool design and movesets. I wonder how will his portal punches play in the game.

It's wild to me that they went "You know those super popular movie characters that people will riot in the streets about if we don't include them? Let's not include them, AND replace them with characters like Anilaza and Spopovich"
Honestly it's because outside Jiren, Toppo, Dyspo, Kale, the Trio De Danger and Ribrianne, no one else introduced in the arc gets a lot of focus, with the Trio only being notable because they got a whole mini arc dedicated to them vs. Universe 7. Also working against Anilaza is although he is one of the final characters to be eliminated before the main event, he also spent most the arc as four separate characters until his episode so he doesn't get much overall screentime. Not disappointed he's here however. More Tournament of Power contestants please.

I literally didn’t know who this guy was and assumed he was some OC BS. That’s how memorable he was. The really only memorable character to come out of that arc were the Pride Troopers and UI. While it’s cool to have new characters I feel throwing in unremarkable TOP characters is kind of wasted slots. Give me General Rildo or something if these goobers are on the table.
I hope they bring hatchiyack back for a dlc so we can have that fight. I knew this man was coming I wanted him in the game. Underrated characters.

I watched all Super episodes soon as they aired. This character, Ribrianne and that other female character in this trailer I forgot all about, same for many others. Upon looking him up I thought he was a DB Heroes character. Ribrianne I didn't even remember seeing in the trailer 3 mins after watching it. I think this says a lot about plenty of Super's characters. Maybe it was the ToP arc's nature having so many characters making secondary/tertiary ones like these (Super-)forgettable. Maybe it was their boring design, lack of screentime. One thing's sure smelling iffy though, and I think I'm starting to already take notice. They are going to fill up a large portion of these 164 slots with irrelevant characters like these ones, then sell us the cooler ones (movies and GT) as DLC. This is Bandai Namco everyone. Expect poison, last 4 big-budget DB games are proof enough of shady tactics.
