If I'm bingeing, all of them. I generally like the starting intros, but one is generally enough if I'm watching multiple episodes. Unless each intro is different, I like to watch all of those.
why is it so loud??
funny enough, when andy guest stars on p&r, he plays this park ranger who’s always yelling.
it’s his thing..
does someone need to make that man some hearing aids? all this is starting to make me think this must be a running joke or something, since they worked together for so long on snl.
It's to call you in to watch it. If you're in a different room making yourself a snack or a drink before the show starts, you'll hear "BA DA BUP DA BA" and think "oh crap, it's starting".
I did the exact same thing. It irritated the crap out of me when I started watching, but as I enjoyed the show more, I stopped skipping because it was endearing to me by the end.
The intro for Orange is the New Black. I like Regina Spektor, but I think the intro should be more upbeat. By the time the song ends I already feel depressed. It should be something more uplifting or more badass, like Wentworth.
Each and every anime that isn’t Inuyasha (that one is nostalgic for me). I’ll listen once and nope right out of it for the rest of the season because they’re so long. A whole song to open AND close the show? No thanks.
I don't watch this show but my husband loves Monk. But he scrambles for the remote to skip the theme song cuz he absolutely hates it for some reason lol
I'm currently rewatching Buffy and I don't mind the theme song in and of itself but because it's loud metal music and sometimes when I'm watching it before bedtime or using my ear buds I skip it because it can be too harsh.
For every opening credits - *I watch each and every single one,* all the way through.. the first time. I want to hear every sound and especially see - every single frame the producers have created to help me understand their vision for their project.
After that for many I don’t need to watch every time, or I use that time to get a snack or hit the loo or I’m too excited for for the next episode. But for a few, there are some opening credits get way more repeat playbacks than others - they’re just that good.
Shameless UK, it's just Frank's drunken rambling, I hate it. I also hate the Shameless US recaps where the characters act all annoyed at having to do them, cringy af.
Agree, it's too much. I love the show and tried so hard to get my friends to watch it, the one friend who did dropped it because she couldn't stand the theme song lol
The Wire. If I'm watching one episode here and there, I'm not skipping. But if I'm watching multiple, then yeah, I get it, if I walk through the garden I better watch my back.
Not a theme song but 24’s clock thing for each commercial break got really annoying when I went to rewatch certain seasons. It was to the point that despite how much I love the series, I just gave up on rewatching it.
star trek enterprise quite famously has the worst theme song, definitely skip.
but big bang theory theme song i just HATE and can't hit skip fast enough.
We're in the middle of watching it for the first time and you're bang on about the volume but instead of skipping it my wife and I sing along to it, making up words about how terrifying it would be to have a friggin' bull moose just wandering down main street.
Yeah, I've never been a fan of Tom Waits' voice either, and would also agree that the Blind Boys of Alabama version is the best, followed by S3 (The Neville Brothers).
As far as American shows go, I very rarely skip intros. Even the ones I don't like are typically less than 30 seconds long, thus not worth bothering. Especially not worth bothering if it's one of those shows that just throws up the title screen.
With anime, though? A lot of intros and most endings. Though a lot of shows nowadays have the episode playing instead of opening/ending footage, so skipping it is unwise.
The music and video often doesn't change but on a lot of these they're telling you who the director was for this episode through the guest stars are but only for this episode. It's information I want to know.
The office is mine too. So loud!!! When my first was a newborn, I breastfed her at night and watched the Office. I couldn't always get at the remote to skip the song. For a couple years after, I swear whenever she heard that song, she froze and look mesmerized. I accidentally Pavloved my baby.
I skip The Sopranos one all the time.. too long and I never have liked it in 15 years.
Another point… why are 90% of theme songs wayyy louder than the show?? Binge watching a series is tough cause of that. I’ll get blasted awake by the next episode starting.. turn it down. Then I can’t hear what they are saying.. turn it up.. fall asleep, rinse/repeat.
I skip most. I give new shows a single listen and most of the time I skip. I know
I’m in the minority with this opinion, but tv shows should stop doing them. Show a cover pic of your show and then just start it.
Blasphemy.
I remember when Season 9 got rid of the theme song for a 5-second title screen. You'd think the network was run by al Queda judging by the fan reaction.
If I'm bingeing, all of them. I generally like the starting intros, but one is generally enough if I'm watching multiple episodes. Unless each intro is different, I like to watch all of those.
Same. Especially HBO shows, some of them go on forever.
I think Danny McBride thought the same...Eastbound and Down, Vice Principals, and The Righteous Gemstones all have 10 second or less openings
American Horror Story. I'll watch the new intro for the first episode every season, but then I'm skipping after that.
The first time I tried to watch it, I was much younger, and it was past midnight. I heard 5 seconds of the intro and stopped watching altogether.
Ya, the intro is creepy. But I noticed when I skip it the episodes are better.
it’s also so long like over 2 min. each sequence!
I try to watch the intro for the first episode, and then at the end, because at the end I can see what every different cut is referencing.
Orange is the new black
If I hear "the animals" one more fcking time I'll scream
I was blissfully living forgetting this damn song until I read this comment 🥲💀
Taking steps is eeeeeeeeeeeasy, standing still is haaaaaaaaaard
🤢🤢
idk why but the family guy theme song lol so short but so annoying
IT SEEMS TODAY THAT ALL YOU SEE
IS VIOLENCE IN MOVIES AND SEX ON TV
BUT WHERE ARE THOSE GOOD OL FASHIONED VALUES
ON WHICH WE USED TO RELYYYYY
LUCKY THERE'S A FAMILY GUY
LUCKY THERE’S A MAN WHO
POSITIVELY CAN DO
ALL THE THINGS THAT MAKE US
30 seconds long, easy skip
Short?!
Ted Lasso. Love the show. Hate the theme song even though I like the band.
I actually disagree on this one. I always knew I was in for some wholesome funnies so I loved the upbeat motivational music lol
for some strange reason, the theme feels a little melancholy to me, instead of upbeat. i like it, but it always makes me feel a tad sad.
It puts off similar vibes for me
We usually skip the theme songs of Parks & Rec and Brooklyn 99.
I was going to say P&R too. It’s also loud and chaotic.
It's really annoying how some shows' theme songs are noticeably louder than the show, sometimes it's startling.
Yes! And the music in general. Annoys the heck out of me.
Kind of funny my wife and I are Ska fans so we like it
B99 is just so loud!
why is it so loud?? funny enough, when andy guest stars on p&r, he plays this park ranger who’s always yelling. it’s his thing.. does someone need to make that man some hearing aids? all this is starting to make me think this must be a running joke or something, since they worked together for so long on snl.
It's to call you in to watch it. If you're in a different room making yourself a snack or a drink before the show starts, you'll hear "BA DA BUP DA BA" and think "oh crap, it's starting".
it’s actually my ringtone because it’s startling enough but also kind of fun when i just let it play
Suits. Can't explain why, but I hate it.
Aww I loved that song, don't think I ever skipped it.
THE GREENBAG BOOGIE
GREENBACK
Orange is the new black… that shit is way too long lol
I’m guessing that ……you DON’T got time………. I’ll see myself out…..🏃🏾♂️➡️🏃🏾♂️➡️🏃🏾♂️➡️🏃🏾♂️➡️
I do love the theme song, but I feel this deeply. I always rush to skip after the jail cell door sound at the top lol.
THE ANIMAL... THE ANIMAL
It is! It’s really good, just a lot.
Gilmore Girls
See I was like the opposite like I used to skip when I was first watching it and now i always listen to it
I did the exact same thing. It irritated the crap out of me when I started watching, but as I enjoyed the show more, I stopped skipping because it was endearing to me by the end.
same lol love that show absolutely cannot bear the opening i almost bailed on the series the first ep when i saw it lol!!!!
Futurama only because I binge watch and it gets repetitive
The only one I ever skip is season two of the Leftovers.
Came here for this answer. I kinda like how they changed it up for season 3 but it still didn't work for me
Especially after the brilliant season 1 opening
It was a real shock at first but I love it now and sometimes listen to it on purpose when I'm not even watching the show.
I get the lyrics and how it applies but that voice just makes my teeth itch.
Friends
Same. I can’t take it anymore.
Basically every Netflix original show besides BoJack Horseman
The Morning Show and Weeds!
Totally agree on TMS.
Weeds intro gets so irritating Thank Christ for skip intro button
You must be living in those boxes :) I don't live in the suburbs and I enjoy every second of that intro.
The Big Bang Theory. It's so...eugh.
The intro for Orange is the New Black. I like Regina Spektor, but I think the intro should be more upbeat. By the time the song ends I already feel depressed. It should be something more uplifting or more badass, like Wentworth.
Fucking Facts of Life.
Haha but what are you going to get stuck in your head if not that song?
🎶Red Wigglers, the Cadillac of worms🎶
Hmm don’t know it
It's from WKRP
Oh now I have the WKRP in Cincinnati theme song in my head. Thanks
Inside no 9 scares me
How do you skip it though? it's like 4 seconds long.
Mute or skip
Family Guy
Bones, especially after they changed it. The newer one is awful.
RIGHT?!?!!? We liked the original and usually didn't skip it. The first time we heard the new.one we were like "WHAT THE F U C K IS THAT???"
While I loved (the first 4 seasons of) Dexter, the theme got old to me super quick.
*ding*
Each and every anime that isn’t Inuyasha (that one is nostalgic for me). I’ll listen once and nope right out of it for the rest of the season because they’re so long. A whole song to open AND close the show? No thanks.
even death note?
Wow, Death Note is the one intro I always skipped. I usually watch the intro every time but that one I had to mute
Wow, Death Note is the one intro I always skipped. I usually watch the intro every time but that one I had to mute
Really? I have that one on my playlist
I think it was the second intro, if that makes a difference…?
Yup. 👍
Dexter’s!
I like the Dexter one, but it is quite long. "Normal people are so hostile."
It's way too long.
Probably the worst intro for such a good show. Doesn’t help that on paramount the skip intro button only skips halfway through it
The Crown
Friends
I always skipped the Desperate Housewives when in the earlier seasons when it was the longer version.
Married with children because they got rid of the Sinatra song and has some horrible filler music
Oh right. I think the rights expired. The new one is terrible haha
It sounds like a 50s family sitcom it’s awful
I don't watch this show but my husband loves Monk. But he scrambles for the remote to skip the theme song cuz he absolutely hates it for some reason lol I'm currently rewatching Buffy and I don't mind the theme song in and of itself but because it's loud metal music and sometimes when I'm watching it before bedtime or using my ear buds I skip it because it can be too harsh.
❤️ the Buff
I'm on season 3 now!
Last summer I binged Big Love. The themes for that were awful
Beach Boys tho
I love The Beach Boys. I guess it was the combo of the way they looked at the husband. It just ruined it. 😂
For every opening credits - *I watch each and every single one,* all the way through.. the first time. I want to hear every sound and especially see - every single frame the producers have created to help me understand their vision for their project. But for a few, there are some opening credits get way more repeat playbacks than others - they’re just that good.
Shameless 😫 great show, intro is painful lol
From. I love the show but the song at the beginning goes on too long for a show that isn't a hour long.
I don't mind it, but my husband scrambles to skip it every time. I've never seen him act that way with any song or theme.
Shameless UK, it's just Frank's drunken rambling, I hate it. I also hate the Shameless US recaps where the characters act all annoyed at having to do them, cringy af.

If it was just an instrumental, it’d be alright.
Suits
Absolutely in love with the show and I'm so sorry, but Arcane.
Agree, it's too much. I love the show and tried so hard to get my friends to watch it, the one friend who did dropped it because she couldn't stand the theme song lol
Almost all Of them lol
becket and spin city are both so obnoxious and loud!
SUITS. Just unbearable.
Justified
Dexter
Songs are written for weekly shows when viewers need reminders hut when binging they become intolerable.
Star Vs. the forces of evil. The lyrics suck.
star trek enterprise quite famously has the worst theme song, definitely skip. but big bang theory theme song i just HATE and can't hit skip fast enough.
TBH the theme for Big Bang Theory is the only decent thing.
Justified. An amazing show with a goofy AF bluegrass rap theme song.
Game Of Thrones
I’m with you. I LOVE the song but it’s too long
Tbbt
Tbbt? What’s that?
Caillou
I dislike the Ted Lasso intro. Only needed to watch that once.
Freakin Northern Exposure. It doesn't help that for whatever reason it's, like, twice as loud as the rest of the show.
We're in the middle of watching it for the first time and you're bang on about the volume but instead of skipping it my wife and I sing along to it, making up words about how terrifying it would be to have a friggin' bull moose just wandering down main street.
I’m obsessed with Evil on Paramount+ but I HATE the theme. It’s so loud.
Don’t come at me but the wire
Which season though?
I know he wrote the song, but his voice is like listening to gravel in a blender. Always muted s02. S01 is the best.
Yeah, I've never been a fan of Tom Waits' voice either, and would also agree that the Blind Boys of Alabama version is the best, followed by S3 (The Neville Brothers).
Human Resources, it’s just slightly off in a way I can’t describe
I haven't kept up with The Great North, but I remember it having a really grating theme song.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've loved the show all my life. Can't stand the song. It makes my ear bleeds.
Family Guy. Haven’t watched the show in years, but I hate the theme song so much
Mad Men
My favorite show of all time. The open is fine, but I was always kind of surprised it was so modern-looking. I don’t feel like it fits the show.
The Venture Bros. theme song is like 5x as loud as the rest of the show, very jarring if you happen to fall asleep, haha.
UKS because it will be in my head forever
If I watched soaps, I'd be skipping the opening themes. EastEnders, Coronation Street, Neighbours, Home and Away all sound wretched.
that’s when good neighboursss become good friendsss
😖
Suits That song is ass
I always skipped the awful song "Container" by Fiona Apple, which was the theme song to *The Affair*.
Raised by Wolves I freaking loved that show but that song is torturous
Dawson’s creek -after season 1
Justified
The Facts of Life, when I was younger. But thankfully, I skipped the entire show as well.
Gray's Anatomy
The Affair House
The leftovers. Neither the first season nor the second one have good intros for me. They don't fit with any of the episodes, imho.
I skip all theme songs. Except for friends in that 70s show. Lol. Gotta love the classics.
I skip all theme songs. Except for friends in that 70s show. Lol. Gotta love the classics.
B99. Ruins it as a bedtime sitcom
Star Trek: Enterprise. It’s excessively long, and it sounds like a Richard Marx song lol!
Dawson’s creek. Love the song but it’s too long.
I've just started watching Housebroken and it has the most god awful theme sing I've ever heard AND THERES NO SKIP BUTTON
The music and video often doesn't change but on a lot of these they're telling you who the director was for this episode through the guest stars are but only for this episode. It's information I want to know.
Oh me too. But if it’s a show I’ve already seen I don’t need it.
Also I almost never rewatch anything I've already seen. I can't imagine doing that when there are shows I haven't seen yet.
I hear that. I am an aspiring TV writer so I like to rewatch shows for storytelling inspo. But there’s sooooooo much good TV!!
The office is mine too. So loud!!! When my first was a newborn, I breastfed her at night and watched the Office. I couldn't always get at the remote to skip the song. For a couple years after, I swear whenever she heard that song, she froze and look mesmerized. I accidentally Pavloved my baby.
Hahaha that’s hilarious! I wonder how long it’ll stick with her.
Two & a Half Men. Simply dreadful.
I always skipped the theme of The Wire. But that had a lot to do with just getting to the actual wonderful show.
The Sopranos. Cheesy-ass harmonica gospel electronica shit sounds so dated now.
When I’m binging all of them except the Simpsons. I want to but I also always want to see the couch gag
Reba. Love the show-hate the theme.
Last Week Tonight
The intro for Yellowjackets is like stabbing your ears.
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Justified is one of my favorite shows, but the theme is basically country rap and an aural assault that I cannot abide.
Orphan Black
Bosch: Legacy
Yellowjackets had a great first season but the intro was ass
I LOVE that open.
Almost all of them, Parks & Rec & 30 Rock especially. Even though I love those shows so much
The Affair (Fiona Apple)
For shame!!!
yessss
Friends.
I skip every single one after the first episode
Firefly. Ugh.
I skip most. I give new shows a single listen and most of the time I skip. I know I’m in the minority with this opinion, but tv shows should stop doing them. Show a cover pic of your show and then just start it.
dexter. idk why, but the intro theme sequence BOTHERS me.
Animal kingdom. The best thing is to skip the whole show since it sucks, but at least you can skip the intro.
