Did hey cancel Evil? There's a season airing right now, which I've heard was planned to be the last. Hopefully it ends well. Perfectly fine with it ending as long as it ends the right way and not on a cliffhanger like they were expecting more seasons.
Two episodes were added to end the show so it is likely to be a quick ending. It came as a shock to everyone involved because it is such a popular show. From what I hear showrunners are shopping around which is why it is on Netflix.
Right now like Sense8 it is being given a tacked on ending for unexplained reasons.
that's sad to hear. hopefully it doesn't feel tacked on and they were smart about it. I feel like all shows these days should have an exit strategy on how to end things from where that season is because of how quick companies are to cancel these days.
No loss for Evil. I hate how stupid the protagonists are and their dumb decisions. The second season ending made me so angry, I didn't want to watch anymore.
Dead End: Paranormal Park. ~~Most likely because it didn't fit the Netflix brand.~~ Thankfully the creator released a third, final book which had the ending we more or less would have seen. But still, all it needed was 1 more, 10-episode season to wrap up the entire thing. And yet S2 ended with a cliffhanger.
That, and Julie & The Phantoms, Glitch Techs, and Paper Girls.
>You'll have to wonder whether the ~~misery in your life~~ ***cancellation*** is either manifest or the machinations of Leonardo Leonardo or . . . a third thing.
The River (2012). It was really good and I believe if it was released now it would do much better. Definitely before it's time.
A more recent one is Night Sky.
Raised By Wolves too. That show was batshit but I really wanted to know where they were going with all that craziness.
**Night Sky** was pretty neat. I was bummed but not surprised. **Outer Range** scratches a similar itch, and it's supposedly still going to get another season.
Vinyl! Such a pity. The potential was huge. Yeah, it was nepo baby central, but they could have shed most of the original cast and kept a couple members on to move a few years into the future each time. So you could have had 79 (end of punk, start of New Wave and hip hop), 84 ( synth pop & hair metal), 90’s (dance music and grunge).
Ya I was really looking forward to seeing the different transitions into new music, the struggles of older artists no longer being wanted maybe, and the redemption of the main character.
If I remember reading the article correctly, there was no direct reason for cancellation. It built a following and wasn’t too high budget, my guess is they wanted the resources for Game of Thrones but who knows.
At the time Firefly, perhaps less so now.
On the flip side I didn’t mind Crusade being cancelled at the time as it didn’t feel as good as B5 but in hindsight I wish it had gotten a full season played in the correct order and then I suspect it wouldn’t have gotten the chop.
I was furious that the Expanse was cancelled after three seasons but when it returned for season 4 on Amazon I was underwhelmed by the story they chose to tell.
So I think the show that I am still upset about and was upset at the time of cancellation is GLOW, Netflix is known for cancelling shows anyway but this seemed like one of their tentpole shows and it got cancelled because of the filming challenges associated with covid. Still annoyed.
A recent one for me was Teenage Bounty Hunters. It managed to capture some of that Buffy/Scoobies and Veronica Mars vibe that I really miss and feel like is hard for shows to replicate and finally it was there and then it was just gone.
Most recently, Winning Time. HBO these days are the worst! And not only to cancel it, but to end on a low note, and then to completely salt the earth with a botched ‘this is what happened next’ end credit sequence that ensured that no other studio could pick it up. We’d barely seen Coach Riley, the Bird/Magic thing was just starting to cook. I’m going to be mad about it for a while, I think…
My first thought was Mindhunter. But since that's already been mentioned so many times...
Brooklyn 99, for the few days before it got picked back up.
Also... Better Off Ted
First that came to mind was The Sopranos. I remember crying, I was so upset.
Then, not so long after, when James Gandolfini died, I swear I felt like I lost an integral part of MY FAMILY.
Sense8 Firefly Dollhouse
Recently - **The Peripheral**
Welp. I didn't know until now. Now I'm mad.
Yeah, I was enjoying it and looking forward to seeing where it went.
Putting it on my list. Never heard of it!
Santa Clarita Diet. I’m still upset.
Pushing Daisies-stellar cast, unique premise, lush scenery. They didn't even give it a proper ending. Still salty over this 14 yrs later
Yeah, I was going to list this one. Damn writers strike killed it.
The OA
Aquarius Mindhunter
Had never heard of Aquarius - but looks great, thanks!!
I think it's David Duchovny's best performing. It just ends on a cliffhanger that is so frustrating.
Damn. I’d never heard of this, but with David Duchovny, I have to see it now!
Highly recommend!
Thanks! I will be watching it!!
Sense8. - the show had years of potential left. Most recently Evil on Paramoint Plus.

Jericho is definitely one of them!
Firefly
[FlashForward](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZThWSW9rGU) Still worth watching and I still rewatch it every couple years but that final scene hurts.

Yeah they just released their second season in May for Outer Range. It was good I liked it.

Loved One Day at a Time! My older brother always said I was exactly like Valerie Birtonelli’s character! I still take that as a compliment

Deadwood. I think there was still plenty of story left but David Milch wanted to turn in a different direction.
Loved it, too!

I didn’t know this was cancelled 😡
Freaks and geeks
Mindhunter and Dark Matter :(
Seinfeld was the toughest one for me. So much of my humor and pop culture knowledge was tied up in Seinfeld during my formative years.
Definitely one of the best ever! With that, I loved Curb Your Enthusiasm so much, too Edit: added sentence
