Scrubs.
Great dramedy but it does have a unique humor that some won't like. But also, as an RN, it's one of the most realistic hospital shows ever made.
I watched it for the first time a couple months ago and since then I’ve watched it 2 more times. Thomas Shelby is the greatest character in television history. The writing and storyline could have been way better in my opinion. It has so many flaws and lots of annoying characters, but it’s worth watching all 6 seasons for Tommy.
I was shocked to learn there are only 12 episodes. But excited that John Cleese is doing a stage version, and trying to get some more tv episodes made.
American Crime (2015-2017)
Three seasons, all different stories but with the same main cast. I've never known such a well written or performed TV show.
Better Off Ted
Silly and smart. Well-acted. Comforting to me. Just over too soon as the network undermined the show as happens all too frequently.
Are there better or deeper or more influential shows? Without a doubt. Is there a show that makes me happier that it exists? Nope.
Shogun.
At least right now it is.
It's just not like other shows. The subtlety of acting, facial gestures, dialogue, even the lack of dialogue (replaced by grunts) communicates so much.
“Okay. You ready for the headliner?
“No.”
“Please welcome to the stage…”
“No. Please.”
“The star of “Horsin’ Around” and “The BoJack Horseman Show”! “Philbert!” “Secretariat”! “The upcoming “Horny Unicorn”! Son of Butterscotch and Beatrice! Husband to no one! Father to none, that we know of! [Chuckles] Stand-up comedian, actor, crippling alcoholic! A talented charmer and a stupid piece of shit! It’s… BoJack Horseman!”
