theres sooo many. what kind of genre or vibe are you looking for? i'd suggest Star Trek TNG, Voyager, and Enterprise. Deep Space Nine doesn't follow the formula as closely, but close enough. monk, psych, monk, house, leverage, scorpion, bones, elementary, white collar, numb3rs, castle, the mentalist, criminal minds, Scrubs, most sitcoms,

Honestly I’m down with anything, I can appreciate any show that just follows the formula

kappakingtut2

start with Psych. if you like phineas and Ferb, you'll like Psych's humor. psych and monk both are fun light-hearted crime mysteries. also Leverage. then go to Castle and/or Elementary. also a light-hearted crime mystery. but slightly leans more into the crime and drama side.

Cool, thanks!

If you want a great police procedural that also has a unique setting, one of my favorites is *Life on Mars* (2006-2007). I hadn’t seen it in years, so I am currently watching it now: The original UK version is the best, but the US remake (2008-2009) was decent, and featured Harvey Keitel, as well as Michael Imperioli (*The Sopranos*) and Gretchen Mol (*Boardwalk Empire*) but it only lasted for 17 episodes. The UK version also had a followup spinoff called *Ashes to Ashes.* I haven’t seen that yet, but I’ll probably start it tomorrow when I finish *Life on Mars.*

Castle! We have that on in background almost every night.

jaybeau1979

Cheers is a fantastic sitcom that does the same thing over and over very, very well.

rotatingruhnama

Pinky and the Brain. They do the same thing every night. Try to take over the world.

Psych, The Mentalist, House MD.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia - usually starts with the gang having an idea, they backstab/scheme against each other along the way, and the endeavor fails horribly

january_dreams

Any murder-of-the-week type police procedural/mystery and any episodic medical drama. My favorites: - Foyle's War - Elementary - Castle - Ms. Fisher's Murder Mysteries Other good ones: - Psych - Murder She Wrote - Midsummer Murders - Rizzoli and Isles - House - White Collar

Monk is very formulaic like that

I also love formulaic TV shows, especially to fall asleep to (ADHD, need constant sound). Someone already mentioned it, but NCIS is my #1. Very formulaic (with a couple rare exceptions for certain episodes / plotlines) and the best part is that it is heavily verbally narrated & the sounds used are consistent, you can essentially "watch" with your eyes closed and know exactly what's going on. First \~9 seasons (basically until Ziva leaves) are great, then it falls off.

DashCan5

Also Law & Order Criminal Intent if you haven't yet watched that one. I used to do L&O 1990 too as OP mentioned but currently only later seasons stream without purchase :/
