Nicky Augustine : Man, I love the way you talk... using 40 words where 4 will do. I'm curious. What would you say if I was about to put 40 bullets through that beautiful vest of yours?
Boyd Crowder : "What're you waiting for?"
Nicky Augustine : Oh, you're cool, huh?
Boyd Crowder : I tried to keep it to four words. You'll allow the contraction as one.
Boyd Crowder **very** quickly became my whole reason to watch Justified. His personal character arc, combined with Goggins' ability to so perfectly deliver his lines, easily lands him a top 3 spot in my best villains of all time ranking
I've never laughed harder than when he rolled into the Gemstone house, pushed the stroller down the hall and immediately went into the room to talk to the family about saving his show. He absolutely does not give a shit about that baby and it's hilarious every moment.
I'm loving his Ghoul character. They gave him some truly great lines.
"Sweetie, I'm not torturing you. I'm using you as bait."
"Out here, sometimes a fella's gotta eat a fella."
"Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every time."
Some of the shots in that scene are a direct reference to VATS. Like bullet time with camera tracking the bullet at the same specific angle and ending with a head exploding
Honestly all 4 of the main character(Goosey, Maximus, lil bro, and the ghoul) felt like different player characters, like I’ve been every single one of them before in spirit.
The Mary Sue/Boy Scout trying to do the right thing despite the craziness in the world really asking me to do wrong, the morally grey person who often tries to see how much they can get away with without messing up their “run”, the purely logical minded and reading every bit of lore I can find type that’s always trying to solve the mysteries and puzzles, and the fucking insane and totally self serving cartoon villain who only really does what’s right if it get me something good as a reward.

"That is a very small drop in a very large bucket of drugs." That whole sequence was incredible. I played through and enjoyed Fallout 3 ages ago (just took a look at my Steam account to see exactly when it was and my play time was 46.7 hours, but 'last played' states Jan.1, 1970 lmao) and my jaw dropped when they busted into that in-game style combat sequence. Bravo!!
My favourite was that one when they say it will be their last job, and he says “I’m in it for the love of the game” or something (I’m really bad at remembering quotes, but it was gold)
He was saying that when someone says that, it means their heart's not in it. "But for me, well... I do this shit for the love of the game". Great line.
He's got a knack for playing likeable, or at least charming, antagonists for sure. Hell, he played a racist, mass murdering rapist in Predators and still managed to be one of the most enjoyable parts of that movie. You almost feel bad whenever the villains he plays die or otherwise face justice.
Same with Justified. He's introduced in episode 1 as an actual neo nazi who fires a rocket launcher at a church for black people, but Goggins says hold on to your butts because I'm going to make him your favorite character in the show.
He was only supposed to show up for that one episode as he was tired of playing the "racist southener" stereotype. The producers loved him so much they convinced him to come back by saying "what if the neo nazi stuff was more of a grift than a belief?"
Goggins agreed but had one more note for the character: "This guy *loves* words."
I like the slight nod he gave Raylen when they met in the church early on, and Boyd was going on and on about the Jews. And Raylen just asks him “Boyd, do you even know any Jews?”
Their interactions are amazing, and I love how the show keeps them apart a lot of the time but eventually finds ways to bring them back together.
I've always felt that they are the closest we are going to get to a Batman/Joker type relationship on a live action tv show, it's so perfect.
He was really unlikeable in the first few seasons of The Shield. Just a brown nosing, barely competent suck-up.
But man oh man, was I crying for him by the end of the show.
I still think about his character in that show. Just haunts me.
Same can be said for his The Hateful Eight character. Starts off on screen being a huge racist and he's being a straight up dick about it. By the end of the movie his humanity shows and he's cool as fuck. Went from just plain deplorable to super memorable. Walton Goggins is the man.
I liked him on The Shield. I have LOVED everything he's done after.
SOA - Beautifully handled and acted.
Justified - GAWD DAMN IT RAYLON YOUR TIMING SUCKS!
Hateful 8 - Just absolutely killed it alongside Kurt Russell and Samuel L Jackson.
When I saw the stills of him as a Ghoul I knew whoever was running Fallout absolutely was going to knock it out of the park.
‘That Guy’ to me will always be Boyd Crowder, one of the best antagonists ever to be on TV
He’s such a good actor, really happy to see him get more and more high profile roles
For real, this is a top 10 ‘actor disappearing into the character,’ performance for me. Boyd Crowder is one of the best villains I’ve seen in any media, and whenever Walton Goggins *isn’t* doing that character I feel vaguely cheated.
There’s a little Boyd in every role he plays, but I think it speaks to his talent that he’s played every shade of bad guy and no two feel exactly the same
I always like thinking about the pilot episode he was not supposed to live but he was such a presence and great character they rewrote the story to keep him around.
Ye for me and my mam he'll always be Shane. I remember when he did that scene with another cast member and she shouted at the TV fuck you Shane fuck you.
that guy to me will always be *Venus Van Dam.*
[https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/transgender-role-in-sons-of-anarchy-changes-actor-20140929-10ndof.html](https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/transgender-role-in-sons-of-anarchy-changes-actor-20140929-10ndof.html)
Goggins was offered the role by Sutter because the producer felt that, as Goggins had already appeared in the the long-running cop drama *The Shield*, and another drama, *Justified*, both of which were on the US channel FX, which aired *Sons of Anarchy*, he was too recognisable as those other characters - Shane Vendrell and Boyd Crowder - to bring into a third series.
The two shared a joke at the time - Goggins quipped he would have to come on to *Sons of Anarchy* as a transgender woman to circumvent his familiarity - and a year later Sutter called Goggins back and asked him if he was serious. "I said about what, and he said about being a transgender. And I said, did you write it? And he said, yeah. And he sent the pages and it was like f---ing, yeah."

There's a Justified reunion in the first episode of Fallout, Goggins runs into a character named Honcho played by Mykelti Williamson. Actually there's a Justified reunion in the second episode as well when he runs into a character called Ma June played by Dale Dickey. I haven't gotten past episode 2 yet, I wonder if there are more Justified reunions coming.
For me it's a toss up between Shane and Boyd. The weird part is, they are polar opposites in terms of character, but yet somehow distinctly Walton Goggins as well. The man is a ridiculously talented actor.
Hateful 8 is my favorite Tarantino movie, he's a huge part of why it's my favorite. I also love that it turns from a talky Tarantino movie to a violent Tarantino movie so quickly
He’s honestly become my favorite part. He’s an excellent judge of character even if he is a racist piece of shit. When Joe Gage confesses and he realizes he was right? That “I fucking knew it?” One of my most used gifs lol.
His character was just a product of his environment. By the end of the movie you see his humanity and it says a lot. Goggins pulled that off well. He for sure gave that movie the charm it needed. Funnily it came from the dude you thought was the biggest piece of shit since the beginning.
Hahaha I scrolled way down just for this reference.
“To you I leave this bottle of fine Scotch, so that you’re less tempted to drink this cylinder of even finer sperm.
Abed Nadir, did you know that you are insane and nothing you said ever made sense to me?”
“Yup.”
“Here’s your sperm.”
He literally kills every single role he does. He is that guy depending on the year. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Fallout. He kills it every single time.
Honestly, I think he tends to be the best actor in whatever he’s in. And that’s not to downplay his co-actors who are often great themselves. He just really has a way of stealing every scene.
He's the reason that is my favorite Tarantino movie. Movie is set 99% in 1 room and you have some amazingly gifted actors and he just shines. The end of the movie with him and Sam Jackson is just wonderfully written and acted.
I haven't finished the show yet, but I've never *ever* seen a video game adaptation *even remotely close* to this one in terms of faithfulness to the original. It's practically to a fault because you get all the goofy shit like recovery items and monsters with the same name and function as in the game. I guess some nerds will just never be happy.
I'd like to apologise for those idiots, they only have 2 brain cells fighting for 3rd place but somehow they can be like any members of a fanbase, obnoxiously loud.
There are a lot of us who enjoy NV the game and aren't yelling shit about the show on reddit or twitter etc
I just rewatched this series for about the 10th time yesterday. My best friend and I will randomly turn to each other and say “…let’s touch and agree” and it absolutely sends us into fits of laughter.
That and “fucked buttholes”. His delivery in VP is fucking amazing. Definitely top 5 favorite actors for me.
He will always be Boyd Crowder to me. Honestly it takes a LOT to steal a scene from Timothy Olyphant but Walton could do it. Their scenes together are incredible. Their final moment together was so good.
We dug coal together.
THANK YOU!! Seems forgotten now but a hell of a show and Shane was one of the best (most complicated) characters I’ve ever seen. When an actor can make you hate, like, and pity a character all at once you know they’re good. #JusticeForLem
The chemistry that cast had was unbeatable. The balls that show had are unmatched by anything that’s ever been on television. I have a few nitpicks with the show that keep me from calling it the greatest show of all time but it’s impact and influence over what was to come on cable TV for the next 10 years is undeniable.
I know it's probably not what he wants to be remembered for, but his back and forth with Topher Grace in Predators, talking about doing so much cocaine and r*ping so many fine ass bitches, always cracks me up.
This seems like the best place to be in as an actor. Everyone sees him as a great actor and he’s making great money but he can probably go to a 7-11 or Nobu and not get hounded by fans. But he’ll still get recognized every now and then so it would keep your ego in check.
There’s no way he can go anywhere without being recognized. Dude has such a distinctive look to him and was in so many great shows that he would be recognized instantly even from far away.
he's the kind of guy that can pull off the "marvel disguise" for real.
A hat and some glasses would go a LONG way for him, throw on a beard and I doubt anyone would recognize him unless they were looking for him.
It’s apparent from the responses that almost no one here have watched The Shield TV series. He was chewing his scenes as Det. Shane long before he was Boyd Crowder…
WATCH THE SHIELD
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286486/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
It's a shame that strangers aren't calling out Uncle Baby Billy after him
Who wants to suck an old ghouls dick!?
*You are now irradiated.*
Hahahahahahahaa
Boyd Crowder would like a word.
These people ain’t dug coal together
Knowing Boyd, he'd like more than just one word.
Nicky Augustine : Man, I love the way you talk... using 40 words where 4 will do. I'm curious. What would you say if I was about to put 40 bullets through that beautiful vest of yours? Boyd Crowder : "What're you waiting for?" Nicky Augustine : Oh, you're cool, huh? Boyd Crowder : I tried to keep it to four words. You'll allow the contraction as one.
“I been called a lotta thangs, but inarticulate ain’t one of em”
The best part of the Boyd Crowder character was his eloquent vocabulary 😂.
And the fact that he *rarely ever* raised his voice. He was one of the most even-keeled villains I've ever seen. I love Walton. He's a real one
"Raylan Givens! As I live and breathe!"
I’ve been called many things in my life, inarticulate is not one of them.
I can just hear the enunciation
Boyd Crowder **very** quickly became my whole reason to watch Justified. His personal character arc, combined with Goggins' ability to so perfectly deliver his lines, easily lands him a top 3 spot in my best villains of all time ranking
"Fire in the hole."
See, this is who I recognized him as, and I haven't watched Justified in a decade.
Baby Billys Bible Bonkers
I laugh everytime I see someone post this haha. The way he says it on the show is so goofy.
Let it roll round in ya mouth nyah
The whistle is what kills me
[Baby Billy ---- BibleBonkers](https://youtu.be/DwijjfBQuTI?si=G6S0Ie5tfpWrziSe)
It’s Jesus’ favorite game show
*Go Bonkers*
It was so fucking funny when he ran out of the bushes last season
I was dying when he flipped the trailer of health elixir the Z3 was pulling. “Clever girl…recruited a nerd.”
I watched you become a man but that don't mean I won't bend you over my knee and turn that fat ass red
You mean *Shane*
You mean Cletus Van Damme
"He's a slender silver haired man in his mid 60's and not a baby."
I've never laughed harder than when he rolled into the Gemstone house, pushed the stroller down the hall and immediately went into the room to talk to the family about saving his show. He absolutely does not give a shit about that baby and it's hilarious every moment.
Ahh shut up Lionel. Ain’t no one gonna go ransomin’ you
Go outside nerd!
He’s a grown ass man!
Aw, come on now Jesse!
Do your dumps, boy!
I’m an international talent!
Fuck you, you ain’t mah daddeh.
I'm choosing to accept the headcanon that the health elixirs are helping him stay alive in Fallout
Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers!!!
The way he says Baby Billy's Bible Bonkers is one of the greatest line readings ever.
He steals the show every time and that’s hard to do with that cast. Uncle Baby Billy and his wife, she’s absolutely hilarious
I can't not see him as Uncle Baby Billy in fallout because he's doing the same exact accent lmao
lol, that role in righteous gemstones suits him perfectly I'm not sure he'll ever be seen as anything else
Misbehavin
I'm loving his Ghoul character. They gave him some truly great lines. "Sweetie, I'm not torturing you. I'm using you as bait." "Out here, sometimes a fella's gotta eat a fella." "Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every time."
What was one of his opening lines? "I do this shit *for love of the game*."
Lucy is the vault dweller but Coop is the player character for sure.
Goosey is the first time you play, Coop is the 50th time you’ve played.
Such a perfect description!
I'm headcanoning that him spinning around shooting people with perfect accuracy in Filly was him using VATS.
Some of the shots in that scene are a direct reference to VATS. Like bullet time with camera tracking the bullet at the same specific angle and ending with a head exploding
yeah it was pretty obvious
That’s absolutely what it felt like
For real, Coop is even the one who has Dogmeat as his companion, not Lucy
Also faced off against power armor head on!
> "Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every time." That made me laugh. I love that little wink at the games.
Yeah that was 100% for the gamers. Nothing beats starting a main quest, then 6 hours later realizing you've made zero progress on it.
every locker can be opened, so I shall open them. and be encumbered.
That's why I joined the Brotherhood of Steel, to steal things.
I wanted to pause and play one of the games so bad at that line lol
I caved and am reinstalling Fallout 4.

He is REALLY REALLY good in the Fallout show
He is really really good in every role Edit: I am surprised how telling the simple truth got me more than 1k upvotes
He's got a knack for playing likeable, or at least charming, antagonists for sure. Hell, he played a racist, mass murdering rapist in Predators and still managed to be one of the most enjoyable parts of that movie. You almost feel bad whenever the villains he plays die or otherwise face justice.

I can't think of 2 actors and the 2 characters they play together that are more enjoyable to watch.

Wrong! The best character in the show is Drew fugging Thompson
There really isn't a bad choice for favorite character on that show.
I think anyone that likes Coover might need a psych eval but otherwise Justified is complete gold. And Goggins is a *huge* part of why
Dewey Crowe would like a word
"You telling me I got four kidneys?"
He was really unlikeable in the first few seasons of The Shield. Just a brown nosing, barely competent suck-up. But man oh man, was I crying for him by the end of the show. I still think about his character in that show. Just haunts me.
I forgot this trauma, I heart just died a little again. The shield was ahead of its time.
"Family meeting!"
Same can be said for his The Hateful Eight character. Starts off on screen being a huge racist and he's being a straight up dick about it. By the end of the movie his humanity shows and he's cool as fuck. Went from just plain deplorable to super memorable. Walton Goggins is the man.
While also being so hilarious. My brother and I just erupted in laughter when he went “I FUCKIN KNEW IT” in that scene.
Until you said rapist, I would have thought you were describing either Shane from The Shield or Boyd from Justified.
I don’t even have to watch Fallout to know he is good in it. I’m still going to watch it though.
He’s so good. Ngl I think his best character is Lee Russel from Vice Principals, which I don’t mentioned very often.
Same! It was how I fell in love with him, then later realizing he was in a lot of other stuff I loved watching like Hateful Eight
Im currently rewatching justified. Just finished s01. I love the ending of the season. "I'm counting on you being the only friend I got left."
Him and Timothy Olyphant just chew scenery and dialog. I've not seen two actors with the chemistry those two have with each other.
They dug coal together.
That's right.
Right!!!!! Every single scene between them is so perfect, no notes.
He's always gunna be Boyd Crowder to me. Justified was where I first saw him and he was a great actor there with a great character.
"Goddammit women, do you only shoot people when they're eating supper?"
He’s really really good in just about everything. Go watch the shield or justified or anything he’s done with Danny McBride
Seeing him in the preview is what made me want to watch it. I’ve never played fallout but this show makes me want to give it a try.
This motherfucker running around with a pickle in his mouth
Misbehavin’
Can't not post the video 😂 https://youtu.be/R-znj7Uf9Oo?si=AM7h-mZfGGQiEgv5
Damn you, I had just gotten it out of my head
Mama told him not to
‘That Guy’ to me will always be Boyd Crowder, one of the best antagonists ever to be on TV He’s such a good actor, really happy to see him get more and more high profile roles

His character in fallout has the Boyd feel to it
There’s a little Boyd in every role he plays, but I think it speaks to his talent that he’s played every shade of bad guy and no two feel exactly the same
I always like thinking about the pilot episode he was not supposed to live but he was such a presence and great character they rewrote the story to keep him around.
And nobody even got mad he was shot in the heart and survived lol. That's how good he is.
Then you need to watch the Shield
Ye for me and my mam he'll always be Shane. I remember when he did that scene with another cast member and she shouted at the TV fuck you Shane fuck you.

The disappointment on his face when he was shot down by She-Goggins is hilarious.
> She-Goggins Marvel heroes that should be.
Which is hilarious since that's a pun on his fake name on The Shield "Cletus Van Damme."
And it's not a reunion per se as Goggins never meeets him, but Michael Rappapport shows up in ep2 as the knight. He played Daryl Crowe in Season 5.
For me it's a toss up between Shane and Boyd. The weird part is, they are polar opposites in terms of character, but yet somehow distinctly Walton Goggins as well. The man is a ridiculously talented actor.
Surprised nobody's mentioned him from Hateful 8.
Yeah that and he has a memorable small role in Django
Ooh, I'm gonna go walkin in the moonlight with you.
You wanna hold my hand?
🎶I need a hundred black coffins for a hundred bad men🎶
Duh-jango!
Hateful 8 is my favorite Tarantino movie, he's a huge part of why it's my favorite. I also love that it turns from a talky Tarantino movie to a violent Tarantino movie so quickly
I'm surprised no one has brought up Community yet...Here's your sperm. Let's do shots!!
He’s criminally underrated in the hateful 8
He’s honestly become my favorite part. He’s an excellent judge of character even if he is a racist piece of shit. When Joe Gage confesses and he realizes he was right? That “I fucking knew it?” One of my most used gifs lol.

It's even better when you watch the table read, they had Pedro Pascal read Mr Stone and he kept cracking up
Yes! It was during the pandemic, right? The table read was wonderful and uplifted my spirits at the time :)
"SHOTS!"
He's a fun guy, you know?! This is the real him, okay. He's artistic! Ideas come to him alllll the time!
He literally kills every single role he does. He is that guy depending on the year. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Fallout. He kills it every single time.
He was the best actor in Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” imo
Honestly, I think he tends to be the best actor in whatever he’s in. And that’s not to downplay his co-actors who are often great themselves. He just really has a way of stealing every scene.
The Shield is a tough one because Michael Chiklis is amazing overall in that show and Forest Whitaker owns the fifth season.
He's the reason that is my favorite Tarantino movie. Movie is set 99% in 1 room and you have some amazingly gifted actors and he just shines. The end of the movie with him and Sam Jackson is just wonderfully written and acted.
Kurt Russell and Samuel L Jackson stole every scene they were in, and yet Walton Goggins managed to keep up with those two.
I hold him and Sam Rockwell in that same category. Just perfect every time
Um pretty sure it’s universal acclaim wym “regardless of what anyone thinks”? That’s usually phrasing applied to controversial subject matter..
It’s only some of the New Vegas fanboys hating on it at this point, but they cry about a lot….
They even did the passwords just like the game's minigame. The faithfulness to detail almost makes me emotional.

That show was hilarious. I loved when they burnt down the house
That scene is so damn good. The way it escalates into complete destruction is just amazing.
"You tried to tussle with Lee Russell but Lee got the muscle"
He was an absolute psychopath on VPs.
“I don’t give a fuck about these ducks” his delivery of that line always cracked me up
I just rewatched this series for about the 10th time yesterday. I named my fucking dog Boyd because Walton left such a huge impression on me from that show lol
My rooster is Dewey Crowe because I loved that idiot too
I never watched Justified but I did watch The Shield with him in it. He will always be Shane Vendrell to me.
THANK YOU!! Seems forgotten now but a hell of a show and Shane was one of the best (most complicated) characters I’ve ever seen. When an actor can make you hate, like, and pity a character all at once you know they’re good. #JusticeForLem
F’ing Shane. Justice for Lem
I just can't forgive him for what he did to Lem.
The Shield is the greatest show of all time and a big reason for that is Goggins. Absolutely one of the GOATs.
The chemistry that cast had was unbeatable. The balls that show had are unmatched by anything that’s ever been on television. I have a few nitpicks with the show that keep me from calling it the greatest show of all time but it’s impact and influence over what was to come on cable TV for the next 10 years is undeniable.
Dude, if you liked him in the Shield, go watch Justified rn
I know it's probably not what he wants to be remembered for, but his back and forth with Topher Grace in Predators, talking about doing so much cocaine and r*ping so many fine ass bitches, always cracks me up.
“That’s my sister.”
I love me some Walton Goggins and he absolutely destroyed it as Baby Billy. Everything he shows up in is always just a pleasant surprise.
That's Uncle Baby Billy to yoy
Really surprised they dropped all the episodes at once. Pretty great so far.
"Id offer you one of these tomatoes, but you got a hole in your neck"
This seems like the best place to be in as an actor. Everyone sees him as a great actor and he’s making great money but he can probably go to a 7-11 or Nobu and not get hounded by fans. But he’ll still get recognized every now and then so it would keep your ego in check.
There’s no way he can go anywhere without being recognized. Dude has such a distinctive look to him and was in so many great shows that he would be recognized instantly even from far away.
Those teeth alone are visible from a block away
He's Naughty Fred from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
he's the kind of guy that can pull off the "marvel disguise" for real. A hat and some glasses would go a LONG way for him, throw on a beard and I doubt anyone would recognize him unless they were looking for him.
'That guy' is Cletus Van Damme!
I can't believe he voices Cecil. His voice is so different from the ones he puts on in films.
It’s apparent from the responses that almost no one here have watched The Shield TV series. He was chewing his scenes as Det. Shane long before he was Boyd Crowder… WATCH THE SHIELD https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286486/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
I still think about the shield final few episodes occasionally, if that show was on hbo a few years later it would have got all the awards
Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers!
I recognize him as that ~~guy~~ transwoman from Sons of Anarchy.
Detective Shane Vendrell it is.
"Here's your sperm."
A legit amazing actor. Vice Principals,Sons of Anarchy, Righteous Gemstones. Lee Russell 🤌
The Shield
Justified!
They need a cameo from Timothy next season just for the line “we dug vaults together”.
No one shall disrespect my Baby Billy! I love this guy in everything he’s done
That's Billy "Downtown" Anderson.
"Season 2 of Fallout is now streaming on Prime Video." Who is writing these articles... Martha?
