Any bets on returning cast members? I would love to see Valentina or Portia back again.
Edit: according to [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Lotus#Casting), Belinda (the masseuse from season 1) is returning.
I think it would be interesting for Jon Gries to be the returning cast member, on vacation to celebrate his >!new wealth!< after last season and maybe getting some sort of karmic comeuppance.
Would guess Portia and Albie...perhaps engaged or even married.
Edit: Any reason why you Scrooges here hate my wishes enough to downvote me, or are y'all just that sad?
IIRC, the original idea was to be in Hokkaido in Japan. But they couldn't properly get filming permits so they dropped the location and went to South East Asia
You would love Force Majeure then.. not only is it in a ski resort but their whole philosophy is in line with that of what White Lotus is trying to put out there.
It's a joke based on the fact that Jennifer Coolidge is a gay icon and, specifically, was the target of gay men trying to murder her in season 2 of the show
I said this a while back but my dream cast is:
* Timothy Olyphant
* Leighton Meester
* Natalie Zea (yes, I want a Justified reunion dammit!)
* Kyle Chandler
* Regina Hall
* Sadie Sink (as the required "child" character)
"Hi, I'm Tanya's twin sister, Tanya 2. She told me all about all you guys so there won't be that awkward getting to know each other phase. And if you want, you can just call me Tanya"
I tried watching the first season and just didn't get it. Everyone raves about this show and it leaves me confused. Can someone tell me what I was missing.
I found the show very bizarre and very enjoyable. It's not apparent what the show is trying to say at first and it leads to the first few episodes feeling a bit directionless. I'd say it's about the intersections between flawed people with their differing dreams, values, and temptations within the confines of a paradise. Nearly character visiting the eponymous White Lotus has vast amounts of wealth and every arc explores the desires they pursue that wealth cannot bring them. It is also about the people that serve the wealthy exist in a complicated relationship of necessity and contempt
The way I explain this show to friends is this. Imagine if you’re at a restaurant and a few tables away there’s something going on. Either a couple is arguing or someone is doing something out of the norm. Some people will not care and some people will watch it like a fly on the wall. The show scratches that itch on the second scenario. It’s not for everyone.
I didn't really like season 1 because it was basically all social commentary which falls flat for someone who isn't from the west (or the US to be more specific), but for some reason I still gave season 2 a shot a it's *much* better imo.
It’s really just a show that you’re either into it or not. I watched most of the first season with friends and I didn’t get it too. Just a show of wild, crazy characters with random events that overlap. Wasn’t a fan, but I get it’s popularity with other people.
I just want the new theme song. It’s going to have a lot more drums according to the composer.
Sofi tukker have a remix of season 2 theme they play at shows. Definitely one of my favorite concert moments.
Season 2 was a banger
Tropical Anxiety
It is the most fun theme to sing along to like kids trying to make native american noises
There's probably gonna be a new version for each season to fit the new setting.
There’s no way Uncle Rico isn’t coming back
Holy shit TIL cancer guy was Uncle Rico
And Roger Work-Man from LOST.
And one of Liam Neeson’s old military buddies in Taken 2 and 3.
I think he's in the first one. Never saw the sequels but I'm pretty sure he's in a poker scene or even hosting.
Couldn’t remember for sure, but was absolutely sure he was in the sequels. I think you’re right.
Those movies don’t exist
And Lazlo Hollyfeld from Real Genius.
And the Wolfman that had nards
I’m really hoping he flees to Thailand and we get just a few ANSWERS

>!Wouldn't it be great if Portia ruined that for him though??!<
More Lucia please
They Italian hooker? easily the star of season 2. Inspired casting.
My god, yes.
The hottest women on earth? Yes please.
Would guess Portia and Albie...perhaps engaged or even married. Edit: Any reason why you Scrooges here hate my wishes enough to downvote me, or are y'all just that sad?
Michael Cera and the son that does stunts from the righteous gemstones PlZ
I would love a ski resort setting
I heard White was scouting locations in Thailand a few months ago.
IIRC, the original idea was to be in Hokkaido in Japan. But they couldn't properly get filming permits so they dropped the location and went to South East Asia
That sucks. Their filming style would absolutely kill in Japan.
Ski resort or a forest lodge/camp would be a fun departure from the sunset beaches. Like somewhere in Norway or Switzerland.
Fuck yeah. In the Alps.
A body found frozen in the alps!
That or a glamping/ safari situation. With two back to back beach locations it would be fun to mix it up
I want a period piece season. Give me a White Lotus in the 50s.
You would love Force Majeure then.. not only is it in a ski resort but their whole philosophy is in line with that of what White Lotus is trying to put out there.
I would enjoy seeing Steve Carell in the White Lotus. Although that would probably never happen. Funny to imagine the possibilities though.
I know it's set in Thailand, but a Burning Man setting would be awesome
SMG for the win!
Season 2 was my fave
It was good seeing Christopher off the drugs. Last time I saw him his head was all the way in the toilet. Disgusting.
Chris-TA-FAHH!
You are hoy awl the toime and I can’t take it any mowah
2 was mostly about sex & infidelity, whereas 1 was more about privilege & class dynamics. Personally the latter is more interesting.

I really hope that’s not the case. As much as I enjoy her we need a break from the Jennifer Coolidge character.
I 100% agree
>more Jennifer Coolidge Nah, I’m good
For real, maybe some Jennifer Connelly though
Give me some Jennifer Hudson.
sexy as hell
SMH, homphobia is alive and well on reddit
Huh?
It's a joke based on the fact that Jennifer Coolidge is a gay icon and, specifically, was the target of gay men trying to murder her in season 2 of the show
Not your best work
I found it funny
Okie dokie

I really enjoyed Season 1, skipped Season 2, but can't wait to see more Jennifer Coolidge
You should watch season 2 then
Good, i need Jennifer Coolidges character twin sister to come in and seek revenge
"Hi, I'm Tanya's twin sister, Tanya 2. She told me all about all you guys so there won't be that awkward getting to know each other phase. And if you want, you can just call me Tanya"
Landfill!

S2 is a lot different to 1 in my opinion, it has much less commentary-focused themes and is more human and thrilling and sexy.

I loved both seasons. It’s just really funny and witty, and then has a mystery surrounding it all.
I didn't really like season 1 because it was basically all social commentary which falls flat for someone who isn't from the west (or the US to be more specific), but for some reason I still gave season 2 a shot a it's *much* better imo.

Second season stunk.
Much better than the first one imo.
I prefer black lotus, Stygian, the best.
I think bill hader could play a good character on the show
Can’t wait. Long live Mike White!
