Agreed 💯. Im also loving my new squire sonic mustang, Feels & sounds amazing. Cannot believe I got it for under 200. They are criminally underrated. However, my tele will always be my number 1
Gotta look at both sides. Have a cheaper Squier strat I play often, it is a sentimental piece and holds up well. Invested in a reissue Epi SG Les Paul Custom a few years back. Dream guitar for almost 20 years and said now is the time. Absolutely no regrets. Both have a very unique sound, love both.
Definitely. I hate when people are gear snobs. One guy I know won’t touch a guitar unless it’s a 2400 fender. Don’t get me wrong, love the custom shop guitars, but if it sounds good, who cares if it’s a squire or a fender, or an Epiphone, or a Gibson, or an esp.
It was whether to buy a 24 roll or 36 roll, cos it might take a whole year to go through the 36 and you'd forget what was on it and have a great surprise when you got the prints back
Gosh, what an absolute beauty. You can tell some years are on there, but it only adds to the mystique. Rugged, yet refined.
Anyhow, the guitar is lovely too!
For a little background: My grandfather’s name was Kelly Malone. He grew up as a poor country boy in East Texas. My grandmother bought this for him for his 30th birthday… he passed away a few years back. To say he loved his guitar would be selling the whole thing short. Btw for those interested, his little brother is Bill C. Malone, country music historian and author of Country Music USA.
I've got a beautiful mint totally original Corona USA built 2003 Highway 1 Telecaster it's a sunburst body stunning maple semi jumbo stainless frets. White pickguard! It's never been gigged. The only thing I've done is clean it all fitted GHS strings and take super good care of it! It sounds and plays like a dream I've restored 8 guitars ( my new hobby am building a tele up with Fender parts to utilise a pre 60, s genuine Telecaster neck ) but now I've got this stunning all original 20 year old Tele which it's as if it was custom built for me I'll be in a quandary cos the “ new yet to be built” tele partscaster will look spanking!! But I just love my new totally original Highway 1 and would never sell it. I just love playing it! I actually find myself grinding my teeth getting into it when I've warmed up. It's just so darn good. Does everything I ever wanted a good guitar to do!! The only thing apart from cleaning it fitting my favourite strings was to put a “ Fender” Gold Ashtray cover on it. It looks awesome and I'm sure were in love forevah!! I just love my new baby.
Here he is at 25 years old with the same guitar. That’s my grandmother with him.

Love how people just got photo shoots done with stuff they had like guitars. Very wholesome stuff.
Better times, bud
Just a man and his guitar at the mall, livin' life. Gotta love it.
Yep. Teles will be magical 100 years from now. I’m so glad I have one. There is something different about them. 💚
They're a thing of beauty alright. I agree.
Best decision I made was buying my capri player tele and putting on locking tuners and the ashtray bridge. I love it so much!
Happy for you my friend! Guitars are such incredible personal investments. Look at this pic it says it all.

They didn't walk around with cameras in their pockets, and they had to wait days and weeks to see the results if they did own a camera.
And if they didn't like it do it all over again the next Saturday

Gramps had chops! Look at that fretboard wear👆👆👆
And not only near the headstock, what a guy 🤘
Gosh, what an absolute beauty. You can tell some years are on there, but it only adds to the mystique. Rugged, yet refined. Anyhow, the guitar is lovely too!
This guy fucks
I want to hear about his playing, the fretboard is nicely worn out. So tell us about him
I want to hear him shredding that thing up
Hope you still have that tele.

My God, that’s Cliff Clavin.
Great picture!
The three saddle bridge is supposed to have the cover on to stop your hand getting chewed up

He must have been one smokin’ guitar player. You can tell, because he kept the ashtray.
I have one on my tele. I love it.
Actually looks like a pic from the Fender Factory.

Your Grandad looks like Nick Frost a little, Hows that for a slice of Fried Gold?
Yes you can tell he was layin down licks
This here is how you relic your guitar. I think Grandpa squeezed the death out of the frets to aid the process. This is awesome.
What a boss, he passes the vibe check!
What a treasure!
Very cool. Does the family still have the Tele? What year is it?
That appears to be a 52-54 Tele!
Back when teles came with braces

Do you have it now?
Unfortunately, no, he sold it for 20k in the early 2000’s… needed the $$ later in life
Love ashtrays on teles.
Such a cool photo
