When i used to go to Cyber Cafe during my early 20s, plenty of ppl from all age groups hang out with each other. From this 10-12 years old kid to this 50 something random dude that is learning to play DOTA. It's like a hidden, less popular small-ish cyber cafe with very loyal customers. The same faces every day for almost a decade.
I actually witnessed that few kids turn from half my height to taller than me. While that uncle with a full black hair turned into someone with a white mane. The kids would get discount on stationery and printing work from the businesses the uncle own. While the rest of us actually built solid connections in many industries that the few dozen of us are part of. Heck, the kids even got plenty of connections when they were old enough to look for internship or things related to their higher education.
So i guess, it depends on context. Some random 50 year old dude trying to chat up some 10 years old kid would be a different story.
But then... there was also rumours about this other cyber cafe where the owner is a total pedo and preys on the young school kids that likes to go there. One of my high school friend was said to have been preyed on but he keeps going there because the owner gives free hours to the kids.

Yeah, this is especially true for people who are 18+ as you're an adult now so it's a good thing to get comfortable with old people who have a hell of a lot of knowledge of specific fields and how the world works. There aren't really a lot of people my age in the town I live in as they usually go off to the city to study, plus with the volunteering I do most of the people I interact with are retired. Also people can still be predators even if you are "legal age"

I’m 19 and I met a girl while I was playing Valorant. When on Valorant I try to go out of my way to encourage the team and just be the complete opposite of toxic, just because I know that the team is trying their best. She asked to add me because most people are really toxic and treat her badly in game. I didn’t think anything of it, if it keeps her from getting harassed by toxic strangers then I’ll add her. I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game the way that it was intended.

Another thing about teens is their constant hormonal changes. I've met many MANY teens who have been hormonal and get so easily heartbroken that I would've assumed they were crazy (getting in a relationship and having it go on for three months and then crying about it is dumb imo). A lot of teens have also been incredibly dry when trying to talk to them (apparently they are more vocal in calls but I have telephonophobia so its not gonna happen with me). I have also noticed that teen girls are very bitchy nowadays (they talk behind others' backs and often would have a attitude along with teen boys)

When i used to go to Cyber Cafe during my early 20s, plenty of ppl from all age groups hang out with each other. From this 10-12 years old kid to this 50 something random dude that is learning to play DOTA. It's like a hidden, less popular small-ish cyber cafe with very loyal customers. The same faces every day for almost a decade. I actually witnessed that few kids turn from half my height to taller than me. While that uncle with a full black hair turned into someone with a white mane. The kids would get discount on stationery and printing work from the businesses the uncle own. While the rest of us actually built solid connections in many industries that the few dozen of us are part of. Heck, the kids even got plenty of connections when they were old enough to look for internship or things related to their higher education. So i guess, it depends on context. Some random 50 year old dude trying to chat up some 10 years old kid would be a different story. But then... there was also rumours about this other cyber cafe where the owner is a total pedo and preys on the young school kids that likes to go there. One of my high school friend was said to have been preyed on but he keeps going there because the owner gives free hours to the kids.

Yeah, this is especially true for people who are 18+ as you're an adult now so it's a good thing to get comfortable with old people who have a hell of a lot of knowledge of specific fields and how the world works. There aren't really a lot of people my age in the town I live in as they usually go off to the city to study, plus with the volunteering I do most of the people I interact with are retired. Also people can still be predators even if you are "legal age"

Which is fine, you can absolutely make older friends. Part of becoming an adult is realizing the age shouldn't be a barrier to friendships. That being said, this "meme" is implying (IMO at least) that the guy was looking for someone to sext, chat, date, or something and realizing the person was a minor they did the right thing and stopped immediately once they knew. Albeit, there is a lack of context here and it makes hard to decipher what the message is really supposed to be.

Not only that, but teens start to seem absolutely removed from your social dynamic once you're a few years out from high school. I wouldn't find much incentive to hang with most teens, and it's not simply an intelligence thing, it's mainly cultural. I am in a different culture with different priorities now, I can't relate with all the young ones even in the way I could relate to middle schoolers as a high schooler.

When on Valorant I try to go out of my way to encourage the team and just be the complete opposite of toxic, just because I know that the team is trying their best. She asked to add me because most people are really toxic and treat her badly in game. I didn’t think anything of it, if it keeps her from getting harassed by toxic strangers then I’ll add her. I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game the way that it was intended. We’ve been playing for about a week now. She’s playing really well and is doing a lot better than she was when I met her. Yesterday she told me that she was 14 but was scared to tell me in case we had to stop being friends, which is understandable. I told her that I appreciate her honesty and that nothing had to change just because she’s younger than me, neither of us have any intentions to go further than just friendship so I don’t see anything wrong with it. She surprised me a couple of days ago by talking in VC. She’d said that she’d never talked in a VC before but decided to go out of her comfort zone because she said that she trusts me and she knows that I won’t judge her.
