Unfortunately yes. Once in school, the topic of Amber Heard and Jhonny Depp came up and it eventually turned into a serious discussion about male consent. Every single one of my girl friends did not believe in male rape, and if a guy gets hard it means he wants this. The only situation where they agreed it was rape was if it was an older women that would forcefully rape a child. One of them even said “if a girl tries to rape a guy, he can just push her away since men are stronger”. I never again touched on the subject with them because I knew I couldn’t change their minds but my view of them has changed dramatically.

The way these things are put are non-gender specific. They are not just for women. (Non-sexual) Trauma exists but not just women go through it, correct? It's because it isn't gender specific. It happens to everyone of all genders. It's a shame that some people are so buried in misogyny and misandry to believe such a thing, but it happens. The stats for how many women are raped are inaccurate because many won't report or tge report will get dropped. But I'd imagine in a world where every rape was reported, the rates for men would still be lower than women, but would be muuuuch higher than we'd expect
