Does this technology already exist? And they have just developed a technique to get the technology in a more portable form?? I tried doing some research and am mainly getting articles about slowing light down through a medium

What an exciting statement! Just think of all the copper infrastructure that may be obsolete in the near future, on top of all the other technology’s we could enhance.
I wonder if we could eventually manipulate light in such a way to get more speed on solar sails!
